Yeah, you're right, I was just putting up some suggestions.

I was looking at the 'Related' section on You-tube (after watching the video I'm about to show you), and look what I found! I don't know how many of you have seen it, but there's a new band going by the name 'Room 29'. Maybe we could... use their music for the ending? It's surprisingly good. I like the theme they use with the piano. :P

Anyway, here's how I see the ending. The credits roll up after the camera zooms out on the earth, as it turns from brown to blue. Tell me what you think of the choice of music. It has a much greater emotional impact. After the credits, we go to Krillin and the gang camping- with the final scene at Piccolo.

That's right, everyone. Only two days left for the Goku re-auditions.

I'm not sure if I remembered to mention it or not when I made the thread, but even if you already have a part, you ARE allowed to audition for Goku as well!

Kaboom, question: How'd the video file transfer work out for you? Were you able to do it?

As in "have ou figured out how to save and compress things," yeah, pretty well. But if you mean "have you found someplace to put it up for download," then no, not yet. Did you manage to get the kinks in your FTP worked out, or should I continue looking elsewhere?

I meant the FTP thing, but no, I haven't had any luck on it. There's one more thing I want to try before officially proclaiming it dead, but in the meantime it might beneficial to start looking for other hosts.

I'm not sure if I'll get that Goku part(Goku doesn't really seem like, my kind of person.) but I'd be glad to be any civilians in this or any future project! And if ya ever do anything with Uub, then I'll try that, too!

Well, that's it for the Goku auditions, folks. Before long, Rick, Kino and I will have conferenced again, and will get a VA for Goku picked out.

Once we have that settled, we can actually get to recording stuff.

Don't worry or think the project has died, just because there hasn't been much posting in the thread here. There's been a lot of work (at least on my part) being done behind the scenes, via PMs and such. I've got about four different things up in the air right now for this project, and once they're all done and out in the open, things will start kicking up again.

P.S. - Hey, Acid, quick question. Um... how exactly does one go about finding an FTP server?

I'm assuming there's a free service out there somewhere that will provide it, or perhaps a public directory, which some admins will occasionally allow. But there are going to be size limitations on both. The only other option aside from those would be to to set up your own server, even if just temporarily, which is easier than most would think. If you choose to do that, I'd be glad to help with it in any way that I can.

As in... turning my computer into the server, and hosting the files on it?

Yes, that was what I was talking about, but I just thought of an alternative. I suspect the reason why it didn't work for me was because I was sending files from my NTFS Windows computer to my ext3 Linux computer. If I were to take my own advice, and use the Windows comp as a temporary FTP server, then it could [potentially] work.

Of course, you can still very well try it out for yourself. The only things you'd have to worry about are: a possible slowing down of your internet connection (if the traffic is heavy), as well as leaving your computer on for an extended period of time.

Doesn't sound like too bad an idea. Better have your computer plugged into the wall, though, Kaboom (especially if you're working with a laptop for this). I'm honestly more afraid of a computer that's being used as a server getting hacked into or infected or something (and I don't know how often either of those happen, so they may just be some stupid details as well).

Ahh... so... Kaboom, have we managed to work out anything in regards to the conferencing this weekend? Are we gonna have to hold it on Monday instead? o-o
Art, etc. links taken down for now. Will be updated at some point. I dunno.

Our "99%-positive" title is "Battle for Earth," a nice, succinct little version of the original title.

No, unfortunately, it's on hold for the time being. My laptop's hard drive (Containing all my resources for the project) is in serious doo-doo after being dropped, and until I get it fixed (And hopefully am able to recover most of my data), I can't really do anything.

I sure hope you can get it fixed, Kaboom... D: Let Rick and me know when you've got it fixed so we can get to deciding that last role. And yeah, I know what you mean as far as laptop problems go... sometimes mine makes me wish that I could just drop it or something... @_@;

Pff..write the script without Goku, heh heh.. Even if we aren't doing the casting for Goku right now, other stuff can be done like the poster and acquiring footage, right?

"You just wait 'til it grows back!"

Yeah, folks, I'm here (posting with the less-than-desireable family desktop PC), but my laptop, my personal powerhouse and main tool for this and many other projects, is still out of comission. I have to figure out whether my hard drive itself is damaged, or whatever connections inside the laptop for the hard drive are. I need to get in touch with my Uncle (who owns many a laptop) to test it. The hard drive itself doesn't look damaged, at least to the naked eye, but I know it's kinda naive of me to think that I could tell by looking. I may have to replace it, which I'm not as worried about (Hard drives come relatively cheap) as much as what amount of stuff from my documents may be saveable or not. In the measly 4 or 5 months I've owned the thing, I honestly haven't really accumulated much on there that can't be re-downloaded; even most of my own works have been put up online for download in one form or another (Such as the script, and most of my artwork), and games are easly re-installed and played through, but I'm still worried about possibly having to re-create a few major things, such as the chapter to my Fanfic I was halfway through. At least I'll probably be able to trial-download Vegas one more time...
  • Does anyone have any clue as to how much data recovery services for modest, not-much-on-there-cuz-I've-only-had-the-thing-for-a-few-months, laptop hard drives tend to cost? My warranty doesn't cover anything of the sort. I know it costs a lot for things like big 'ol server systems and such, but...
Either way, until I can get it fixed, and re-acquire most of the files for the project (Scripts, lists, audition files and such) after getting back up and running, I'm kinda crippled in terms of the project. But so long as I can still at least post on here and direct, there are still a few things you guys can try to do in the meantime...
  • Shinpan, thanks for getting the script done. Once I'm back to full power, I'll work on getting a final put together. In the meantime, please do whatever you can with the poster. If you get the characters finished and drawn, then please start to coordinate with nathantheguitarist, who's doing the lettering and titles and such on it. There's the Opening, too. If you'd like to find some time to record yourself again, then by all means, please do.
  • Conan, can't say there's much you can do until we can get you that footage, which brings me to my next point...
  • ...We're trying to find a decent FTP Server for sharing large video files, both the raw footage for editing and various stages of the finished product as time goes by. capsuleman is ready and waiting with his DragonBox footage; he just doesn't have anywhere to put it. Acid_Reign was initially going to let us use his, but he's having problems, so we're kinda back to square one on that. Anyone who can find us something or set us on a promising path in this regard will get a cookie from me.
  • We're trying to gather sound effects at this moment, as well. Everything from generic things like wind blowing, water flowing, and rocks falling, to DragonBall-specifics like beams, Kaio-ken noises, etc... We already have a bunch of the latter thanks to the ever-helpful Rick, but we're looking for more of the generic ones. There's tons of websites out there with free, downloadable, SFX, and I know a lot of video editing software comes with a good library of them. Also, you can sometimes find CDs of nothing but sound effects out there, too. Again, cookies are promised to any of you who can manage to rustle up a good amount. Reference the version of the script I put up a page or two back for some of the things we'll need. I tried to point out the more major sound effects.
  • Voice Actors, just keep on practicing. We can't really start recording anything until we get a final script and some footage, so the best I think you could do is just find some clips or something and practice some flap-matching, perfecting your character(s)' voice(s), and stuff like that.
That's all I can really think of for now. Again folks, the delays are my fault, and I'm truly sory. Hopefully I can have my "rig" up and running again in about a week, maybe two, and I'll be able to get cranking at "full power" again.
