Well, other than the Madman Dragon Ball part 1 I am still waiting for, which the store I bought it from assures me will be shipped out some time next week, I just dropped 100 bucks (50 of which was shipping...assholes) on 6 Dragon Ball guide books off of amazon Japan. Two of which include the new super exciting guides.

50 bucks for shipping? On just those books? Please tell me you're kidding.

Nope. I was originally only going to pick up the super exciting guides, but I saw the shipping and decided to throw in 4 more books. I live in Connecticut, which is on the east coast of the US, It's pretty far. Plus it's international an all that. I am honestly not surprised. Have you ever ordered something from Japan? I have only done it once before, about 8 years ago, and payed like 50 bucks shipping for one book.

Jeez. Considering West Virginia is a little further west than Connecticut, I fear what the shipping would be if I decided to order from there.

*grins* I've had Wolf Hurricane since 03, that's a long time to hold a doujin grudge. Unless you meant Wolf Storm, which someone did try to outbid me on this time around.

Finally received conformation that my Madman set 1 is going to be on it's way soon. and by soon, I mean I have no idea. The e-mail literally said. "Your item is in at our store and will be shipped out soon".

Thanks Australian store, very helpful.

Garlic Jr. Box set, a couple of Cell Games dvds. And not quite DB, but the last volume of Dr. Slump.

Well, I just received Shipping notification on my Amazon Japan order, apparently it will be here Tomorrow
I guess that's why I paid 50 bucks in shipping...

Also, my Madman DB set 1 finally shipped, but I have no tracking so god knows when that will get here. Also some figures I ordered got shipped as well and will also be here tomorrow.

Can you post some screen caps and/or video from the Madman box sets? I really want to know what they look like before I consider ordering mine.

Screen shots and video will only go so far when it comes to PAL conversions like this. It's ultimately all about where your video is going to end up for your own viewing. Are you going to watch it on a TV or on your computer? Does your TV/DVD player handle PAL video on its own already? Is it going to do any funny stuff to the video? Are you going to upscale it to 720/1080 on an HDTV, and if so, is the TV or a receiver going to handle the upscale, and what kind of deinterlacing work does it do on its own?

I think maybe what I might need to do is take an off-screen video of both of my DVD player -> receiver -> TV setups (HD and non-HD) to show just examples of how it might be displayed and viewed...
