I don't know some Goku on Piccolo action may actually make me buy a ticket to this film.

Cheesy line, but I like it.
It's alright I guess. Sounds like something Gohan would say in his later years though. If he can sound convincing when he says it then that'll be great. As long as Chatwin isn't doubting his skills and actually wants to fight then it'll get a nod of approval from me. It'd be cool if he shows up to the battlefield like he does in the manga, with his fist balled up and looking confident.
I completely respect your opinion, and I respect you. I enjoyed discussing this with you, even if I don't completely agree.

This new trailer definietly got me more pumped up for the movie. But yeah, still feels like a teaser. I suspect we will see at least one more trailer before the movie comes out.

I like it in that its not a speech and in that it's a line that (presumably) exudes confidence. :D

I agree; I really like Goku and all, but he's supposed to be a cold fish when it comes to reproductive urges.

These were all I cared to find before I got bored. The point. There's lots of slow-mo in Dragon Ball.

Well, I liked a couple of the new effects, the Shenlong one impressing me, and the flying car was quite neat. But again, the emphasizing of cliche crap like "prophecies" and lines/deliveries of Chatku's like "I'm not ready for this"/"...Cool..." just really throw me out of it. Really, a little comedy in even one of the trailers won't hurt the film, especially since this first movie is supposed to be an adaptation of the original Dragonball series. I can't decide if we're being mislead into believing this is a "100% drama-adventure fo'seriousness", or if the only thing accurate to Son Goku's character they did (that we know of) was a 9 second shot of him eating a drumstick that could go straight to the DVD's deleted scenes for all we know.

I'm kinda sorry if this post glooms the mood, but a couple effects aside, I'm really not anymore impressed by this new trailer than any of the prior ones.

Considering a lot of the negative reaction so far has been because the movie isn’t Z, it makes sense that they would choose to dump all of their action shots into the final trailer; it’s more marketable that way. Just look at the spike in interest here after seeing it. Makes me wonder if people actually want a just-Dragon Ball movie…

The story does a good job of condensing Dragonball into one movie and the humor and the dialogue are just as good as any anime episode/movie/special etc.

I'm not quite ready for a live action Vegeta, so a Dragon Ball without the Z is fine for me.

Your opinion baffles me. I'll say no more.

Well, wait, I will ask something. Jappo, you haven't even seen the movie yet, why are you so sure this is gonna be "as good" in "humor" and "dialogue" as you've stated? I ask that mainly because the trailers we've seen have contained zero humor, so are you basing this statement off that script you obtained (which may not even be the finished screenplay used in shooting)?
Chuquita wrote:I'm not quite ready for a live action Vegeta, so a Dragon Ball without the Z is fine for me.
You and me both, Chu. Interestingly, I think Marsters would've been perfect for Vegeta, as his Spike role in Buffy the Vampire Slayer & Angel mirrored the character in far more respects than Piccolo IMO. And believe me, the work he put into Spike (which was big enough to span two shows!) was incredible. Given I've been impressed with Marsters in pretty much all the roles I've seen him in (Spike in the Buffyverse, Brainiac in Smallville, Lex Luthor in Superman: Doomsday, Captain John Hart in Torchwood), I think he can do something special with Piccolo, it's just immensely saddening how he'll most likely have such an out-of-character version of "Goku" to play off of.

If I do ever see this movie, I won't be surprised if I constantly keep sighing during every second of Chatku screen time.

I don't know if I like the theme song.

What I do know is that it has been stuck in my head all day.

Was the King Piccolo saga a laff-trak roller coaster for you guys or something? 'Cause I remember it being one of the most grim parts of the entire series.

Trailers mislead. It's what they do. The Sum of All Fears trailer outright lied about one of the more important plot points.

Well, no, but there are so many other comedic points in the series the movie is adapting from. Goku first meeting Bulma, meeting Yamcha, the first time he sees a "dino"/hoipoi capsule, his "relationship" with Chichi, ect.

I will say that at the very least, it's a very nice movie to look at, so far. The landscapes are amazing, and even if the movie isn't great, I feel those are the sort of landscapes that are perfect for a movie like this.

Um, you answered your own question. Fox (or someone) sent him the final/near final script. He has proven several times that he isn't lying, providing actual segments from the script and backing them up with photo evidence. Whether or not what he has is the final deal, I don't think he even knows, but he has provided enough info material that I think he is trustworthy.

Also, I believe that they are targeting this toward the "Z" crowd. Since almost everyone I know who isn't a diehard fan, like myself :) , still refers to this as "the Dragonball Z movie".

I am sure there will be humor in the movie, even Dark Knight had humor elements ad every trailer for that was serious as shit.

Also I came across a higher quality version, still not OMG HD but better.

Also now that we are like 90% sure the Mafuba will make an appearance, I am starting to think the Jar thing in the center of the table with the "mystics" may be used for just that purpose.

I am assuming the sky color has something to do with the eclipse, shenron's appearance, or maybe it's just done that way to look "OMG HARDCORE".
