It will take at least another 4 weeks until the main story starts again.

Look, guys, the art is -bad-. The inking is really decent, but the art is not good. It's not even so much that it's not Toriyama's style, it's just bad art.

Also, that Trunks could win first and third in a wet t-shirt contest.

Ok, I'm done raggin' on the art. I couldn't really do any better myself.

And this is why I say this would be perfect art for a comedy.

The art is good. It's just inappropriate if the story is to be taken seriously.

Dude, WHY do you keep saying the art is good? The proportions are constantly off, the anatomy is wonky, there's a buttload of inconsistencies... This isn't GOOD art. This is hardly passable. Seriously.

Fan authors aren't supposed to act like big corporations. Doesn't Salagir realize that everyone hates the specials? DBM is supposed to be fan service. Maybe if people actually caused the 'ratings' to drop down significantly, he'd do away with them.

Personally, I'd rather wait 30 days with nothing as they take a break between chapters, than wait 30 days while being exposed to this... what even is this?

Everyone at the other DB board is praising this special, claiming the art is made to look akward on purpose for comedic value... um... I have these doubts here. I don't think it was intentionally made bad. And I think they're intending us to take the special seriously. Maybe we'll see on the next page if a hillarious gag takes place or if something serious happens, then we'll know for sure eh.

I'm not seeing any blatantly misproportioned characters. Certainly not nearly to the extent of the Cell chapter. There those were actual mistakes. I think you guys are mistaking "stylized" for misproportioned. Go do an image search for Danny Phantom.

I don't think it's supposed to be funny on purpose but it ends up that way because it's a goofy style during what's supposed to be a dramatic event.

I don't get why everybody is choosing to rag on the art though. Of all things wrong with this chapter, the fact that it looks to be another one where everybody gets slaughtered, the fact that it's not about a particularly compelling villain, and the fact that it's not one of the universes people want to see most, the art is the last thing to complain about. As little as it helps, at least it makes the chapter as entertaining as a repeat of Cell could possibly be, unintentional or otherwise.

There's a difference between stylized and bad. This is bad.

I know -exceptional- artists who do stylized art and realistic art who think this is bad.

And I've seen Danny Phantom. That's an example of GOOD stylistic art.

Whatever, bro. You're still complaining the most about the least bad thing about this special which makes it incredibly difficult to sympathize with. I honestly can't sympathize with it at all. Of all the things to complain about you pick the one thing that makes what would be an otherwise pointless and boring repeat of the last special the least bit amusing? I don't know, that sounds counterproductive to me.

Like everybody else, I'm not especially happy with the special chapters. But don't look a gift horse in the mouth. We weren't having nearly as much fun with the Cell chapter.

Save your breath for when we get the Super Buu special and it's another round of "everybody dies!" Let's see what happens with that one.

Dude, I'm allowed to say EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS SPECIAL BLOWS. That's how I feel. I think the art is terrible, too.

I agree. There are some mistakes, the art isn't VERY good, but most of what people complain about aren't mistakes (there are some pages that are pretty poor still to come though).

I do agree with the notion that is mostly inappropriate to be taken seriously. The edits made by the fans to these pages (with batman and whatnot) are actually better than the original pages just because of that.

Its a great style for something humorous.

Then just don't follow the special. Come back in a month or so to see if its back to the tournament. Pretend that DBM is on a break (which in fact, is true).

I don't get why people complain so much about how Salagir does things... For all intents and purposes, DBM IS on a break intended to provide Gogeta Jr some down time from the fan manga. Salagir just chooses to have other people come in and do some fillers during the break to entertain the fans that WANT to follow these special chapters. Nobody is making them read them and its entirely possible to follow DBM and not follow the specials.

DBM is supposed to be whatever Salagir wants it to be. Are you paying for it? I don't think so...

And no. Having no specials would just mean breaks with no filler chapters. Gogeta Jr requires breaks, so he has to have breaks. Filling those breaks with special chapters done by others or not doesn't influence the fact thas Gogeta Jr requires breaks.

And I'm pretty sure that "ratings" go down during the specials chapters and up again in normal chapters because there are lots of clever folk who simply don't read the specials. They don't like them and so, they just don't read them. Or, they just read the first couple of pages and then drop them until the normal chapter comes up. Which is what everybody (who don't like them) should do.

This is evident even in the comment section of the DBM site. There are significant less comments during special chapters.

Btw, nodody is forcing you to be exposed to anything. Like I said, if you dislike it so much, just check in a few weeks to see if we are back to normal chapters. DBM is, in fact, on a break. Following this special during the break is entirely optional and reading it is not required at all to follow only the normal chapters and enjoy them, without missing anything important.

Also, unfortunately, its not meant to be funny. Which sucks.

Even though I knew that was Trunks in the last panel, I still thought it was Bojack for a split-second.
Usually goes by "Kevtrev" elsewhere online.
Draws comics that may or may not have been blatantly inspired by Akira Toriyama's manga.
