Well, Toyotaro has a month to draw, Toriyama had a week. If you compare Super's art to tVictory Mission's art, you'll see it's completely different.ekrolo2 wrote:Toriyama was more than capable of drawing good backgrounds, he just gives up on doing so about the time Goku fights Piccolo in the tournament. I'd also say Toyotaro draws characters consistently well too whereas Toriyama gets REALLY rough and downright lazy with them during the Boo Saga. So yeah, Toriyama is an overall better artist I think but Toyotaro has him beaten in certain areas.

When would we have the new chapter. Of course in September but would it be more in the middle of the month?
Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
V-Jump is released on the 21st of each month (barring a Sunday or holiday, in which case it gets moved up slightly); the November 2016 issue is due out September 21. That's my automatic webmaster response for today!

You don't understand my point. I'm saying that SS3 is not really SS3, it's more like USS2.mikey4111 wrote:The parallels aren't clear at all. You're saying that it makes sense for a FPSS2 to surpass a SS3. But when Gohan first used SS2 he far surpassed a FPSS. If anything, it can be understood as a statement in favor of the FPSS2 theory, and a counterargument to the rage SS2 boost, since he wasn't satisfied with the usual SS2 power and wanted to ascend, much like how Vegeta wasn't satisfied with the SS power in the Android arc and wanted to ascend. The parallels are pretty clear.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:Thank you. It appears that Trunks started at a level above SS2 Gohan in order to show Goku his original SS2 level from when he obtained the form, and then powered up to the level he reached after further training. So, this has nothing to do with Vegeta's rage boost, or any mastery of the SS2 form.
No, Trunks reached that level because he is a Saiyan Halfling, so he is much more gifted than Goku & Vegeta, and he trained his ass for over a decade

I've shown my rookie colors on this one I don't know why I confused it with another manga book I think the weekly one whose name escapes me right now...I'll show myself out of this thread todayNejishiki wrote:V-Jump is released on the 21st of each month (barring a Sunday or holiday, in which case it gets moved up slightly); the November 2016 issue is due out September 21. Weekly Shounen Jump? And the leaks do happen a little earlier then that. I don't know why you're upset though, a lot of people have asked that question. Don't feel bad.THEGOKU wrote:I've shown my rookie colors on this one I don't know why I confused it with another manga book I think the weekly one whose name escapes me right now...I'll show myself out of this thread todayNejishiki wrote:V-Jump is released on the 21st of each month (barring a Sunday or holiday, in which case it gets moved up slightly); the November 2016 issue is due out September 21. I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

Oh because I know the answer to it and I see it when its posted every time and always told myself never get caught asking this question because you already know the answer. Anyone have an idea of when a Volume 2 release might drop?

Not to mention Toriyama would spend most of the week he had to draw the manga watching TV or crafting model planes. So in reality, Toriyama pulled it off in 2-3 days.Doctor. wrote:Well, Toyotaro has a month to draw, Toriyama had a week. It doesn't. He used to be on a weekly schedule back when he put actual effort into the art and it looked fine. As do many other artists even going on today. For all the shit I give post-time skip One Piece for introducing a mind numbingly stupid and redundant amount of characters every single arc, it's pretty impressive to see Oda pull that scale off so frequently and make it look fairly good.TheMikado wrote:I''m not sure how that makes Toriyama less lazy?
Toriyama just got lazier as time went on. Hell, the very reason Super Saiyan exists is so his assistant wouldn't have to ink Goku's hair!
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

Regardless of his time management, Toriyama was plotting, writing and drawing the series on a weekly basis, in addition to providing drawings and designs for video-games and promotional work—and that's when he wasn't working on one-off manga on the side.TheMikado wrote:I'm not sure how that makes Toriyama less lazy?
Even when he's obviously burned out during the mid-Boo arc, the guy was still a machine. Perhaps other mangaka manage more consistency or employ more complicated designs on a weekly basis, but roughly fifteen years on that schedule is nothing to sneeze at.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
I can't believe people call mangakas lazy(from weekly manga at least), it's like calling a fighter a coward.
It's kinda rude and thoughtless. You can call him undisciplined (if what Lord Beerus said is true), declining, uninspired or just plain bad.
Lazy..., that shows a disconnect towards the author, which I don't expect in this forum. Surely people here have the minimal knowledge not say such a thing.

I would think that it's just a matter of Toriyama getting tired. He had been a weekly mangaka for almost 10 years, and by the time the Boo arc came around it was basically him doing whatever he wanted because he was so burnt out from Dragonball.

More than ten years. There were only five weeks between the end of Dr. Slump and the beginning of Dragon Ball.nite_jay wrote:I would think that it's just a matter of Toriyama getting tired. Not to mention that Toriyama had to sketch and come up with new designs besides just ''only'' drawing weekly story.
His sketches (some of them are here on kanzenshuu) next to his chapter drawing is far cry from lazy.

It's just a ripple effect. It's become "funny" to say "Toriyama is lazy." It happens in every medium whether it is music, art, whatever. I consider it ignorant but oh well...LightBing wrote:I can't believe people call mangakas lazy(from weekly manga at least), it's like calling a fighter a coward.

I'm sure if you or I slacked off and didn't do our highest quality work we would likely be labeled as "Lazy". I don't know anything about how the production of the manga went but if it's true I mean it was his JOB. I mean I guess I must be a hero for going to work and doing my job 5 days a week. That said I know nothing of his work ethic so I can't critize it but readily excusing it almost just as bad in my opinion.Drayenko wrote:It's just a ripple effect. It doesn't work like that. Being a manga artist is not a "normal" job. These people barely get any sleep at all. You're saying it yourself, you don't how it works.
