That is not what I took away from that scene at all. I'd argue that Vegeta in Battle of Gods is amazingly in-character that people who see him as out-of-character don't actually know Vegeta that well.

You may as well claim that him hugging and saying goodbye to his son before blowing himself up is out-of-character, but I don't see anyone doing that.

Vegeta is not the same person he was when he first showed up on Earth, and I would love to see more from Toriyama on this.

Well, that is a matter of the right context of course. The reason for why he dances makes the scene in-character but the act of dancing like a fool alone is out of character and that is what most people mean and why Vegeta did that in the first place. Because it is so not like him but with the right motivation, something that very well is a part of his character he does even such a thing.

I'm curious as to how long this film might end up being. With BoG we received the longest one yet. Does anyone on here know what the trend dealing with length is for shonen type films nowadays? Have they become longer as a norm? Is there a minimum and a maximum they tend not to cross? Company guidelines and whatnot?

Naruto and Bleach films tend to be between ninety and one hundred twenty minutes. Wikipedia lists all four Bleach films as being ninety-five minutes.

One Piece Episode of Chopper Plus: Fuyu ni Saku, Kiseki no Sakura was 113 minutes, One Piece Film Strong World was 115 minutes, and One Piece Film Z was 107 minutes. Not quite two hours, but getting there. Of course, the longer the film the more money the production committee members either need to spend. I'm not quite holding my breath for the film to have a budget different from that of Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, so the longer this movie is the more Yamamuro Tadayoshi has to spread a budget thinly. As much as I would like something on the level of Hagane no Renkinjutsushi: Milos no Sei-naru Hoshi it isn't likely we will get something like that given the screenplay is not even finished nine months before the film is to be released.

same as bringing back forgettable comic relief characters from early Dragon Ball and then making them even worse by making them a kid.

I don't have much to reply to that hasn't been said (Besides how Unforgettable Pilaf is...especially considering he's one of the first big DB villains), but they were pretty much kids to begin with, IMO. Changing their physical size didn't make much difference to me.

I hope we find out who the Animation Director is soon, and I hope it's someone good (or at very least, someone either more fluid, or with a better art-style than Yamamuro).

I wonder if we'll get any new "hero" characters along with the as-expected new villains. We don't have a lot of those. Tapion, Minosha, Tarble, and Gure are all that immediately come to mind.

It's pretty interesting to note that 山室直儀 / Yamamuro Tadayoshi still is not credited on the website anyway, despite being mentioned on a flier. I was hoping there would be a little more fanfare, although I suppose if Morishita Kouzou said to himself "I'll just give the movie to the character designer!" the idea was never really in the cards.

It would be pretty interesting to have a new hero character, though I suppose they'd have to figure out something to do with him/her by the end of it, to explain why they're not there at the end of the series...unless of course they're the type of person that wouldn't hang out with everyone all the time, kinda like Tenshinhan.

The more screen time you give to these new characters the less time is given to the true hero's and characters we've all come to love.

I really just want a cool looking Villian, Birus was cool, but that was after we got to know him and see him in action, the first time we saw him (On the poster) many thought Goku was going to be fighting the easter bunny, If I remember correctly.

My 2 thoughts on what the worst wish in history could be,

1.Vegeta obtains Super Saiyan God status, and him being so cocky, and wanting to test out his new powers he wishes to fight the strongest being, or all the gods, allowing shenron to grant his wish, allowing the z fighters to struggle to fight the gods.

2.The Z-Fighters wish for all the saiyans to come back alive, because the all the gods came to earth, and as they wishes for that wish, they failed to realize there are also some bad saiyans out there also, so when they wished them back, the bad saiyans reeked havoc also, causing destruction.

Those are my 2 thoughts.

Both ways? Proving a point? I'm confused. I don't mind if you like BoG its your opinion. I respect it. I just added onto your post by saying what a new hero could be. The other half had nothing to do with you and was expressing what I want the movie to have. Besides Goten got what 30 seconds screen time alone. The rest was with the other cast in a group shot or with Trunks.

The both ways/proving my point bit was about why you would hope for Tenshinhan to be left out just because you don't like him - people could say the same thing about Goten, or Kuririn, or anyone else, and it wouldn't be any more valid of a hope really. Why hope for one of the main cast to not appear just because you're not crazy about them? I would have been pretty upset if Snape suddenly disappeared in Harry Potter for no reason, despite disliking him greatly.

I did leave off the bit about where a new hero could go though - you are right there, they could easily be dead by the end of the movie, I suppose.

I really hope they spend a little more time on quality control this time around. I enjoyed BoG greatly but was really taken out of a few scenes because of the dismal animation quality. And the less said about the use of cg the better.

Yes it's true I hate Ten. However that's not why I was hoping he doesn't appear. It has nothing to do with how much I like him or else I would wish Beerus to not to appear. It because of the Cell Arc and the Boo Arc. Cell Arc Ten said "This is probably the last time you'll see me" and then in Boo Arc they said "We could't find Ten. Or we would have brought him to the lookout".

Suddenly they can easily find him or Ten appear with them. Which is why I was confused with "Both ways" comment. When in the series has Goten said "It's going be the last time you'll see me" or someone say "I can't find Goten(Most likely would be gag if this happened)".
