They are still gonna have to animate like 3 fights, right? Unless they go full-on conservative it wont help that much (.. I think xD)

Correct me if I'm wrong though
I don't know lol maybe to give some new animators time to join the team later....Has not someone said here that some series will end soon

Yeah, Tiger Mask W is ending soon from what i've read. I hope some of the animators transfer to super though it might be very unlikely

I'm fairly certain it already ended, didn't it? I haven't seen Tiger mask W (which is too bad seeing as I'm a pretty big wrestling fan) but I looked it up on sakugabooru. If their animators are gonna come onto Super I really hope that includes Nishino Takeshi. He seems to be able to reliably create strong impacts with some nice expressions to boot

I would really like to know what was production time for episodes in the Future Trunks arc, they looked "okay" to me with exceptions of 56/57 and 66 looking beautiful.
It looks like the universal tournaments is about 8-10 weeks per episode which probably helps a lot more with timings.

You can see in the characters sheets the date and it isn't much time, Mai's design was finished weeks before her first appearance if I remember correctly and there wasn't a lot of time although they managed to give good episodes.
This time, everybody assumes there is more preproduction and it seems there is more post production even, so who knows how this arc will turn out?

hmm, I guess we can only hope for the best. TBH this seems like its there last shot to get super right otherwise the whole series would become a mess, i'm a massive fan of super I wouldn't even mind if they stopped production for a couple months so they could focus more on it and not try outsource filler episodes. If anything (i know this would never happen) they should give dragonball rights to another company.

So I was re-watching some Fairy Tail episodes and noticed that at the end of an episode under animation director/supervisor "Hutoshi Higashide" was listed, now that name sounded eerily familiar and put it in Google and it came out as Futoshi Higashide so was a typo in the credits, but still it is cool I recognised it :P Anyway I had no idea he had experience as a supervisor before so could he potentially become one for Super in the future?

Tiger mask will have 39 episodes. #18 just aired, so it still has a lot of time.

Yeah, we don't know how much time will be between the exhibition and the real tournament or if there is any new staff that will debut on the tournament or if the tournament is being worked on ahead in anyway.
So sorry Luijin, we don't know enough about the state of production after the 10 weeks yet or what kind of planning was done for this arc yet to make the call of whether it will be good or not.

That was just the last edit or something if I remember correctly, they would have had earlier versions to work with before then.

Ah, my mistake then. If that's the case I might watch it once I get all of these damn midterms out of the way. As I've mentioned previously, the animation (the work of Nishino Takeshi in particular) seems noticeably above what I would expect from Toei.

Well, that's either the production improving, or Futoshi Higashide is just so good.

I just thought one day he'll solo an episode. Lol.
I'm bad at English and still learning. If there's anything wrong, please correct me. :D

Damn! How do they expect people to watch it ?

Also, higashide is a god! He's animated pretty much all of the short but good fights. I don't even know what Super would be without him.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

I disagree, I preferred Goku's fight against Hit and maaayyybe Vegeta's fight against Magetta although that last one is sort of an apples to oranges comparison. I also think Vegeta vs. Cabba was not as good as episode 78's fight, but very close.

Vegeta vs cabba was definitely better. It had some neat choreography and parts of it were animated splendidly . It isn't 100 percent fair because the differences in length, but it definitely wins. I'd also say Frost versus Piccolo is better, if only for the strategy.

I doubt that these episodes will be heavy on the animation department. There will be like 4-6 episodes with slow fights and a lot of reaction shots. Tate will work on the next week one, so he will re-appear later in a bigger battle.

The tournament and the battles are indeed a serious issue....I don't know how can a series that suffers so much achieve such a great feat. Unless they go crazy with the breaks between battles. Goku fights fighter X and then we get 1-2 episodes of the gang talking or Satan having a funny moment.
Personally, I think that the "pre-tournament matches" are a last attempt to help Toyotaro surpass the manga.
Let's say that the Zamasu arc in the manga ends in 3 chapters.
3 chapters=3 months

In the anime:
Basil vs Buu 1 more episode
Gohan vs Lavenda 2 episodes
Goku vs Bergamo 2 episodes
Universe 9 gets destroyed and general reactions 1 episode
Clip show episode 1 episode
Android 17 is back 1 episode
Goku looking for fighters 2 episodes
The tournament starts 1 episode
So basically, 11 episodes=2.5 months. Adding a break will lead to almost 3 months.

If everything goes smooth, Toyotaro might be able to reach the anime. Then with some few in-between discussions Toyotaro will final surpass the anime. Again this is probably the best case scenario. However, with the manga assisting when it comes to battles, I can safely say that the series will continue to improve.

If this tournament is a silent reboot, then they might do it.

I don't agree with this exageration, but things are defintely getting better.
Even a simple scene like Goku catching the bullets and teletransport to beat those criminals two episodes ago, is more fluid and well animated than a lot of DBS scenes in the past.

As for the fights, hopefully we won't have anything as horrible as Goku vs Botamo again.

A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Favourite old DB Animators: Masaki Sato and Tadayoshi Yamamuro
Favourite new DB Animators: Yuya Takahashi and Chikashi Kubota

Yeah, early episodes of Super were so stiff and unnatural, now everything is smooth and fluid, even Yashima episodes, so everything is way better than before.
