Official On-Going DBZ 2013 Movie Thread: "Battle of Gods"

I'm probably okay with that being the Super Saiyan God design, but I was kind of expecting more. Not too much more--nothing as overly designed as fan pictures of Super Saiyan 5/6/10 etc, but...something we hadn't seen before? I guess what I mean is, I'm sure I'll be okay with this in the story itself, but as an overall experience, I was looking forward to having something new and unique added to the franchise. Eh, time will tell how it all works out, I guess.

Well I suppose if this form is temporary I will be less dissapointed to see it go since it's not very cool looking.

If that turns out to be the real Super Saiyan God, I'm...not sure how I feel about it. I like that it's not what I was expecting them to do (making another blond hair stage, only flashier this time), but then it also seems a little too similar to the False Super Saiyan stage we already got. Hmm... I guess I'll just have to wait for them to put it in context and see it in action.

I wasn't expecting a gold SSJ4, but I was expecting something I have never seen before. It just seems like base Goku with a new aura and red eyes. That isn't anything that special that couldn't be done in photoshop.

I for some reason like the idea of SSJ styled jet black hair and eyes with no pupils having an intense blue aura. Goku's standard hair style just doesn't work for me... Seriously, FSSJ looks cooler than that supposed God form design.

Really? Guess we're just coming from different places on this then, because for me, Goku having his normal hair is one of the things I really like about this art, supposing it really is Super Saiyan God. That and, if it was just the blue aura, no pupils, and then Goku's Super Saiyan hair (only black) on top of that, then it really would be just a rip of 'False Super Saiyan' 's design.

Well I also really like the idea of blue SSJ hair with no pupils for some reason. That or white. White hair is God-like I suppose.

Hmm...there's an idea I hadn't thought of, that reminds me of an idea I had back in the really, really early days of my fandom. Maybe 'Super Saiyan God' would look cool if it just did a color-switch, kind of - give Goku golden-yellow-ish eyes, and then his hair and aura are the more 'turquoise' color that the eyes usually are in Super Saiyan. That could kind of work with the blue-ish aura he seems to have in that one shot of the trailer.

Just a random thought, not really thinking it'd be that though.

Somehow it feels a bit off that they're trying so hard to keep Super Saiyan God a secret, yet post a big picture of it on the door of their own office, which I'd imagine is the FIRST place people who want to know what Super Saiyan God looks like (Japanese fans) would try to visit That and the immense build-up... I don't think this is it... It could be, but right now I'm doubtful :p

So you, as a person with a functioning brain, legit believes that this Super Saiya God form, that Toei has tried so desperately hard to keep under wraps, would make an easy appearance in the trailer? You honestly think that? Then let me ask you a question: would you even think to believe that that design is SSJG if Kei never suggested it? Think.

I honest to God think that this is just some random Goku drawing. Look at that logo - it's not even the Battle of Gods logo. It's not even the Dragon Ball Z logo!

Yes, because when Goku was transforming in the trailer, his hair was turning red, and when Birusu throws that ki blast that looks like the sun, we slightly see Goku's hair in the shape they have in base, but with red color and a golden aura. That sketch fits exactly with what was hinted in the trailer.

If this is Super Saiyan God Goku then I'm happy it isn't as flashy as Super Saiyan 3 and 4. I also prefer him in his regular form and while this wouldn't be Ultimate Goku it is good enough.
