Welp, I guess you'd find out if you read it. (Also, no, that would be absurd.)Noah wrote:So I heard "spoilers" from the manga that Black kill all Kaioshins and Hakaishin from all universes, well I can say I don't believe in such thing silly as this, is a lie isn't?

That's Dragon Ball Heroes, Time Patrol Gohan BTW, so let's get that right out there so we don't get any other wild speculation.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

I hope that when the saiyan rose Goku Black fight starts Toyotaro find a way to make Trunks helpful without making senseless things like the anime did, I mean he trained for like 5 days and didnt even turned ssj3 but somehow he was able to send saiyan rose Goku Black flying with a kick but when he was fighting ssb Vegeta in base form he was even laughing at his punches.

I choose "realism" over power levels any day. Power scaling is a weakness of the old, we don't need it to bind the new. Get some Kuririn Kienzan in here!DI297 wrote:I hope that when the saiyan rose Goku Black fight starts Toyotaro find a way to make Trunks helpful without making senseless things like the anime did, I mean he trained for like 5 days and didnt even turned ssj3 but somehow he was able to send saiyan rose Goku Black flying with a kick but when he was fighting ssb Vegeta in base form he was even laughing at his punches.

If Zamasu take a direct hit from Trunks, he will fall back. If this were done in the style of DBZ, he wouldn't have budged.TheMikado wrote:I'm not sure what you mean by realism?Jinzoningen MULE wrote:I choose "realism" over power levels any day. An example of how DBZ is obsessed with power levels long after the scouters left. While they take a more realistic approach with DBS.
I put "realistic" in quotations because we're talking about people with superpowers who can blow up planets.

Yeah, I think that's a personal preference, the tanking hits was a regular motif of Z. No everyone wants or likes change so I wouldn't expect to the fan base as a whole to accept "chocolate " if they were hoping for a repeat of "vanilla" Dragonball Z.

I get why they want DB to maintain a tight continuity, but that's not who Toriyama is. When he's writing those notes to Toei and Toyotaro, he's concerned with telling a fun, hopefully interesting story. If you're watching for that, great! You'll fit right in.TheMikado wrote:Yeah, I think that's a personal preference, the tanking hits was a regular motif of Z. If you want the big build-up, the stricter power scaling, DBZ is probably more in your ball park.

Agreed and there's nothing wrong with everyone having different tastes although I noticed the manga is much closer to Toriyama and Zs style which is what I prefer.Jinzoningen MULE wrote:I get why they want DB to maintain a tight continuity, but that's not who Toriyama is. I have mixed feelings about this manga. Toyotaro is a good artist (hands aside). At this point, he's able to replicate Toriyama's style seamlessly. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the schedule, it's either far behind, or it's rushed.TheMikado wrote:Agreed and there's nothing wrong with everyone having different tastes although I noticed the manga is much closer to Toriyama and Zs style which is what I prefer.Jinzoningen MULE wrote:I get why they want DB to maintain a tight continuity, but that's not who Toriyama is. The last BoG chapter was disjointed.
He had to skip RoF, and while I understand the reasons, he should have written it in a way that didn't actually reference those events, as to not create a giant hole in his interpretation.
The Interuniversal Tournament was fantastic... until the end, where the fight and the Super Shenlong summoning are crammed all into one chapter. Although I vastly prefer the re-introduction of SSG as opposed to the Kaioken, which was nostalgic, creative, but it was a lazy way to meet Toriyama's criteria. I personally think that it was stupid for Toriyama to give them notes that said something to the effect of "Give Goku a new move that makes him 10x stronger than Vegeta" was stupid to begin with, but for Toyotaro to use that opportunity to give Goku a stepping stone transformation was more creative. Especially so since it seems to be a permanent innovation, rather than the one-time Kaioken, which essentially makes every loss he has from now on a plot hole.
Toyotaro is just now getting into the Trunks Arc, but I've already enjoyed it more than the first part of the show's version. In the show, Black started out without any of Goku's techniques. The only similarity was their looks. However, in the manga, he already knows the Kamehameha, Instantaneous Movement, and presumably all of Goku's techniques other than Super Saiyan.
All that build-up to say, the manga would be better than the show if it had a better schedule, but since we're stuck at only 12 chapters a year, corners will have to be cut, and its potential will not be properly met.
