Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 78
For those who are new to the world of animation or those who are interested in expanding their knowledge about how the modern animation is made, Culture Japan Season Two Episode Nine has an excellent interview and overview of how things are done within an industry. This is just general and does not necessarily reflect specifically Toei Animation and their Dragon Ball animation side of things.
With the terrible production schedule Dragon Ball Super is currently at, I'm not entirely sure that after all the intital stage of creating visual from every department (key animation, coloring, background, assemble) they would have time to go back and make some more adjustments before sending out to the sound department for sound effects, music and dubbing. With precious time they have on hands one would think they skip the post-production and just send the tape to the sound department and plan on to edit some stuff later for the Blu-ray releases.

Sound and dubbing is often done with unfinished and uncorrected animation. Animation and correction work can still go on right until the broadcaster's deadline.

Blu-ray fixes are minor and it can only fix art but not entire animationDragonBalllKaiHD wrote:For those who are new to the world of animation or those who are interested in expanding their knowledge about how the modern animation is made, Culture Japan Season Two Episode Nine has an excellent interview and overview of how things are done within an industry. It can be either major or minor fixes. See Episode 5 and Episode 37.

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 78
There will be a break between episodes 81 and 82.
From a story and pacing compared to when episodes air standpoint I hope 81 is the end of the exhibition matches, but from a production standpoint I'm REALLY hoping 82 is a Karasawa lead action episode.
He'd have 12 weeks since his last episode and that's not even taking into account the possibility that his near absence from episode 72 was because he was already working on his next episode.

I think Karasawa will be on #81 with Shimanuki. Newtype may have just not listed him. I don't see them continuing the exhibition matches past #81, nor I see them starting the main fights straight after the exhibition matches.

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 78
I really think it depends on how the exhibition matches go, maybe Gohan's fight bleeds into episode 81 and Goku's fight is the second half of 81 and most of 82. Either way Karasawa is probably on either 81 or 82, it just depends on which episode the exhibition ends.Sodhi wrote:I think Karasawa will be on #81 with Shimanuki. I definitely think we're getting 4-6 episodes between the exhibition and the actual tournament too. I think in particular they'll give a good amount of spotlight to the reintroduction of 17 and Bra's birth, both of those could even end up being entire episodes each.

Osama on twitter tweeted that he thinks the filter is most likely Nagamine's idea/decision. Osama said he used this style of filter in the recent precure movie he worked on.

I guess that's somewhat of a relief, at least it's not inspired by those "90's DBS 4K edits" on YouTube. Hope they tweak it a little later down the line though.Sodhi wrote:Osama on twitter tweeted that he thinks the filter is most likely Nagamine's idea/decision. Good choice, it was a very solid scene on his part.DragonBallFan8001 wrote:My favourite piece of animation he did is probably the short fight of Goku vs. Merged Zamasu in episode 66. I don't know why, but whenever I see it I think of the opening music to Sono Chi no Sadame. I guess its just one of those thing.

Now I can't get Sono Chi no Sadame out of my head, but the part where he yells JoJo is now replaced with Goku.JazzMazz wrote:Good choice, it was a very solid scene on his part.DragonBallFan8001 wrote:My favourite piece of animation he did is probably the short fight of Goku vs. Merged Zamasu in episode 66. and it also gave us the best voice acting moment in the whole season. The best "Son goku" line from merged Zamasu. Thatface of Goku reminds me of Mashiro Shimanuki's style.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.
