I like your reasoning, especially coupled with the fact you've posted three times and written three paragraphs in less than an hour in direct reference to my one line being over dramatic.Chrono Trigger wrote:You'd think people just sit around and think about the live action movie all day! "I can't sleep, I can't eat, I can't do anything! All I can think about is how their destroying my childhood and my favorite characters...that I love !" It's really not that serious. I'd bet money that even Mr. Toriyama, Mr. Dragon Ball himself, doesn't really care about this movie...if he even knows about it!

I was referring just to your one comment.
I was just trying to make a point. Watch somebody is gonna post a picture from the movie that has Goku eating with a fork and I just know somebody is gonna be like "What!? Goku never eats with a fork! They are just blatantly spitting in the face of the source material! This movie is killing my soul!"
I completely respect your opinion, and I respect you. I enjoyed discussing this with you, even if I don't completely agree.

I think your arguments here are far more convincing than your videos for some reason.Gozar wrote:Do you really think there will be THAT much outcry?DominatorLost wrote:This film is likely to be a commercial flop because of all the otakus and retards who are obsessed only with the anime and are usually 14 who will no doubt flood the cinemas and whine when they leave. Though actually, if they did throw that in, it'd at least prove they were basing it off of something. Even if it is a lame Dub line.
Can we help it if the series we love is being vastly changed? It's no different from bad changes FUNi made to their Dub. Actually worse.I just hate it when some people say stuff like "Oh this makes me sad!" or "It kills my very soul !" and "Oh the humiliation!" and I'm like "Ok come on. It's a freaking movie. Is all that drama really necessary ? " I mean seriously we're all adults here right ? I'm not saying they can't hate the movie or be against it but saying stuff like that ? It's just taking things too far out of the box.
Anyway some news if you guys haven't seen it. I was asleep, so:
Gabriela de la Garza remember her fun work in the film: “My character is virtual! It’s like a computer, to all who arrive to the city and want communicate with her, gives them instructions. The hairstyle, clothing, everything was fantastic. ”
The actress explains further that “always shot my scenes with green screen (green screen that allows overlay landscapes) and James Wong was directing me, is a great filmmaker.
The article goes on to say that the film's setting will be futuristic.
Almost a year ago, the director James Wong was visiting several countries, including Mexico, looking for the perfect place to shoot the film version of live action, Dragon Ball. And he was convinced by Durango, where are deserts and snow and Santa Fe, in the Federal District, to recreate the atmosphere of the original comic by Akira Toriyama.
In the first place he recreated the fight of Goku and the devil Piccolo, as happens in the animated television series and in the second a city of the future.

In short: futuristic.
If challenge had a taste, you'd be quite delicious.
In case anybody cares, Dragonball Movie Blog has uploaded their tenth podcast epsiode. It seems to revolve around the new shots of Piccolo, but I'm sure it's just a lot of opinion sharing (as if we don't get enough of that here).

I was gone when the screenshots from the trailer where originally posted, so I don't know if this has been noticed before. In these two screenshots the turtle symbol goes from the left side of Chatwin's gi to the right side. I just thought that it was interesting and I hope that they don't make too many mistakes like this in the final film.

Why do you guys give that line so much shit? It's not stupid or cheesy, it makes sense. Read all three statements and tell me that any of them didn't make sense or have relevance to the scene in which they were used.JAPPO wrote:"I am the Hope of the Universe. Agreed on the Burst Limit acting, loved that scene, but I still liked Goku's rant.JulieYBM wrote:Terrible delivery and the fact it was not what was supposed to be said pretty much makes it's a prime canidate.
I much prefer Mr. Schemmel's work in Burst Limit where the dialogue was actually faithful to the original.

I think the line in question was actually one of the lines I did for one of my Goku tests for the R29 Productions dub of movie 3 which never came to fruition.
"I do lots of push ups and sit ups and drink a lot of juice"
That line comes up all the time on another forum I go to, and it has nothing to do with Dragonball, the forum, not the line, obviously.

LOL, I agree many people are overreacting. But I think the problem is that because of those people, every random person who complains is being lumped in with those people and every complaint starts to be viewed as overreacting sadly.Chrono Trigger wrote:Hey a lot of that is true and people have every right to feel that way. You gotta admit though that some people are just a bit TOO dramatic about it. "Oh when this movie comes out I'm gonna sit in my room and hold on to my Tullece doll and cry myself to sleep!" I've seriously read some comments like that ! It's ridiculous! I understand the love people have for this show but it's just a movie !You'd think people just sit around and think about the live action movie all day! Well that Video wasn't meant to be a factual Video. But rather a comedic way of informing people of the events.Jappo wrote:I think your arguments here are far more convincing than your videos for some reason.
Good stuff. Considering DB has flying cars and capsule, a futuristic take seems pretty good if executed properly. In short: futuristic.
I actually like the lines for sentimental purposes. But the problem is even though Goku says heroic things. That was simply TOO over the top.SSJ2bardock wrote:Why do you guys give that line so much shit? It's not stupid or cheesy, it makes sense. I like it a bit better than Goku suddenly being knowledgeable about pure hearts and rage and Super Saiyans.JulieYBM wrote:Terrible delivery and the fact it was not what was supposed to be said pretty much makes it's a prime canidate.
Feh on "supposed to be said" anyway (excepting plothole-causers, of course). If they'd done that, it'd be "I am so totally mad at you, Freeza!" instead of "Now you will know the horror, Freeza!" or "IIT'S OVEEERRRR, FREEZAA!!".

That line is just plain terrible, and kills the mood of the scene.SSJ2bardock wrote:Why do you guys give that line so much shit? It's not stupid or cheesy, it makes sense. Which all comes back to the preference of the viewer, but I don't want to start a 5 page argument on this off topic subject so please don't respond with something like "Oh my god, the dub fucking sucks and preference doesn't matter because all things dub are retarded" or something like that.
Thanks

During my days as a DBZ dubbie, I found that line to be lame and out of character for Goku.
