Personally, I don't think so.

The newest trailer still doesn't grab me. The theme certainly doesn't feel Dragon Ball-like, either. Just everything about the movie doesn't make me want to see it because what I see is a really poor kung-fu movie with CG thrown around. I don't see a movie that resembles Dragon Ball in any shape or form.
Dude, at this point saying the movie doesn't resemble Dragonball is just lying to yourself. I could almost understand this opinion back when the only real footage was Goku in a leather coat flipping off a car and what not, but now, you are nuts.
Tsukento wrote:A little movie called "Push" is coming out soon and looks better than this.
Push looks more generic and crappy than Dragonball. This new trailer got me excited for the movie, when I saw the Push trailer, I was like "This looks like generic garbage". I'll give it credit for trying something "crazy" but otherwise it just looks bland as hell.

And if Super Mario Bros failed it's only because you obsessive fanboys made it fail because it's actually a good movie! :x

I think it'd be more appropriate to compare movie Shenlong to movie Yoshi.
Thank you for that. Priceless.

Not to be picky, but I don't think Mike would've let that many spelling and grammar errors get through if it were a mini-daizex board.

Naw, I was referencing how I see the same arguments on here in some form or another when the DBE is being discussed.

Someone hasn't seen the Japanese version methinks.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Yeah, I posted this and got deleted:

-------------------------------------------
Rodney: “…since the show was targeted for kids”

Not really. The original japanese version was targeted for everyone, not kids only. As a matter of fact it was the USA version that cut many parts and edited the dialogue to make it suitable for kids.

If we are talking about dialogue, you should watch Vegeta´s dialogue, that was very intense and its one of the best dialogues I have ever seen in any animated series. Especially in the Buu saga when he is about to fight Goku for the second time.

Now about the “targeted for kids” part, in the original japanese version there were scenes that were not “suitable” for children, but in Japan its ok for them, but my point is that the original series was NOT made for kids only. It was made for all, including teens and adults alike. Just take a look at this 3 minutes long video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MubuGPernNA

Its just 3 minutes long, and you will see what I mean.

Also there were a lot of bloody scenes that were cut from the USA version, such as this: http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/8606 ... ezayf3.jpg and many other similar to those.

This is another example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0VB8GVxj7s
The arabic version did the same that was done in the USA version. But in the hebrew version in the left you can see the original version.

See my point?. Maybe in the USA it was targeted for kids, but not in the original series.

Now, talking about the movie Dragonball: Evolution, I think it looks great and I agree with you some fanboys are acting really stupid by critizing it just because of the color of Bulma´s hair, etc. This movie is looking really good and it might end up being a hit and successful.
---------------------------------------------

Guess what was his reply?... none, he just deleted my post.

That Rodney guy cant take a debate. He just deletes your posts when he cant reply you.

Part 1 (Goku Piccolo Vs Raditz), Part 3 (Goku Vs Vegeta). Part 2 was deleted. So I reposted it here: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1s2l7_invasion-sayajin_fun

I’m sorry but that’s just wrong; you’re looking at it from a culturally-biased standpoint. “Perversion” is taken more lightly in Japan than it is in the US. Dragon Ball was always intended for children. If adults can enjoy it, that’s their prerogative, but they certainly weren’t the target demographic.

I agree. What is 'okay for kids' is completely subjective. The fact of the matter is that, even if it's read by older people more often in Japan, manga and animation are still aimed at kids-young teens.

Dragon Ball was written for kids. The definition of 'kids' is just a little different in Japan.

This isn’t exactly movie news, but was anyone aware that Emmy Rossum was a singer?

I seriously hadn’t ever heard of her until this project.

Song's got a 90's vibe. Or it reminds me of songs from the 90's.

This particular song's got too many synthesizers for me though. :?

She played Christine in the movie version of the stage version of "Phantom of the Opera". Did her own singing in that movie. Did a good job too. :D
