Anyhow, the same page is printed in 23 out of the 24 magazines doing the promotion. (The only exception is V-Jump, which has its own layout for the contest information.) The entry ticket is also useless unless you buy the magazine, cut it out, and attach it to a postcard... which is why I've bought 15 different magazines over the past three weeks.

This is even worse news than Pilaf being in it. I was expecting after the last movie that this one wouldnt be as light hearted but it looks like this is going to be even more of a joke.

That's right, but it was stated that evil beings are deprived of their bodies and memories, why would Freeza be an exception especially when there's allways a great danger to be resurrected one(like he will be in this movie). I think someone important enough(like Whis) ordered King Yema to give Freeza this fate.

They usually do lose their bodies, but not always, take Vegeta for example.

To really punish Freeza he has to stay Freeza. Imagine an intergalactic tyrant with a massive ego reduced to a child's playmate, it's the worse fate for them imaginable

As long as some kind of explanation is given for why Freeza hasn't been purified and reincarnated, I'll be happy. Any kind of reason, really! Just acknowledge it and I'll be good. Of course, seeing Freeza in Hell at all kind of puts a dent in my "rewriting history" idea...

I have no problems with these little Ga-chans appearing in the movie. I wish people wouldn't jump the gun every time we see something lighthearted. These things are quick celebrity voice "cameos" that will likely only appear at the beginning of the film for a very short time. Think Oracle Fish.

I think everyone is blowing this out of proportion. They will probably have a short comedic scene in the movie, probably during a flashback from Freeza telling Sorbet and Tagoma what happened to him in the afterlife.... or Freeza may be too embarrassed to tell anyone what happened, and it will just be a short scene at the beginning of the movie explaining what happened to Freeza after he died, and where he's been all this time.

I am more than okay with this new development.

I'd be lying if I said this wasn't partly due to the humongous amount of "but Akira made DBZ a super serious melodrama!" bitching that will surely ensue.

Edit: I think it would be wonderful if these nice looking fairies/angels turned out to be incredibly dark and sadistic, similar to South Park's Woodland Critters.

Am I missing something here? This is so like Toriyama and has been forever. It's not even like this is the first time we've seen goofy stuff like this in Dragon Ball. I just don't understand why some people want Dragon Ball to not be Dragon Ball anymore. Toriyama has always balanced serious and comedy pretty well; there's no reason why he won't do it now.

I know it looks bad now but keep in mind this is written by the same guy that can make an arc about a fat bubble gum monster fit nicely with the likes of Frieza and Cell so lets wait and see how it turns out before getting mad over it.
