I figured as much. But it's weird how the scenes are in somewhat more problematic than the theatrical.Freeza Soldier #156 wrote:Differences between the two versions were detailed long ago: http://www.kanzenshuu.com/movie/battle- ... d-version/FutureGohanSSJ2 wrote:Anyone else notice some of the script changes from Theatrical Cut to Extended Cut of Battle Of Gods?
One instance was Beerus hearing about Earth for the first time. In the theatrical cut, he says, "Earth? Never heard of it. Sounds boring if you asked me." However, in the extended cut, he says, "Earth? Isn't that the planet with those dreadful dinosaur creatures? I decided to extinguish them all."
However the extended cut line doesn't really make much sense because, well, we see dinosaurs in the show....and then later in the movie....
There's also an extended fight scene with Beerus and Majin Buu that doesn't make much sense in the extended cut. We see Beerus knock Buu into the water. In the theatrical cut we know we see Beerus pick Buu up from the water. However in the extended, Buu jumps back out of the water and tries to fight back. They are now a long way away from the water. Beerus grabs his antenna and then it cuts away. Remember: They're farther away from the water than before. Now, in the next scene, we see...Beerus picking him up from the water.... Huh. Yeah was a little awkward.
Anybody else notice any changes from theatrical to extended cuts?

That's partly true. The original draft was not written by Toriyama and was indeed a much darker film, however, Toriyama did quite a bit of re-writing to turn it into the film it is.FutureGohanSSJ2 wrote: Uh...you do know that Battle Of Gods wasn't written by Toriyama...right...?

It was sanctioned by Toriyama, and Toriyama had a lot of say, but he didn't write it. Not fully. Fukkatsu No F he is fully writing himself though. Probably due to seeing the problems with Battle of Gods. The reason all those Vegeta-praising scenes are in the film are not due to Toriyama.EA575 wrote:Uh...yes it was.FutureGohanSSJ2 wrote: Uh...you do know that Battle Of Gods wasn't written by Toriyama...right...?

People who know the whole story. Toriyama was given a script and he rewrote it yes, but he kept the main points in the story. FnF is purely him, like in early manga days.Avenged wrote:It was, who told you otherwise?FutureGohanSSJ2 wrote:

Mr. Watanabe is the one to thank for all the Vegeta-wanking throughout the film.Freeza Soldier #156 wrote:That's partly true. He's the same man who thinks Vegeta is the "secret protagonist" in Dragon Ball. Lol
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
Caught up and....why is Freeza being imprisoned? Why isn't he being purified? Boo caused far more destruction, and yet got instantly purified and reincarnated. There needs to be a good reason for this. Not just some torture crap which is petty anyways when I'd think the ultimate punishment is being reincarnated into something far lesser than you once were. A matter of opinion I suppose. He also better be a soul, and not have a body. That would be even more ludicrous. I kinda fear for this movie now as it might borderline fan fiction just to get Freeza back.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

He basically re-wrote the whole script but kept the concepts of Beerus and Super Saiyan God.FutureGohanSSJ2 wrote:It was sanctioned by Toriyama, and Toriyama had a lot of say, but he didn't write it. No that part was funny. There were scenes with Beerus that were funny, the scene where they said Vegeta hadn't done anything bad in a while so they all clapped, that was funny.sintzu wrote:I agree on the Pilaf part but can you really watch what Buu did and keep a straight face ?

How do you know Toriyama wasn't the one who wrote Vegeta that way ? Toriyama said he rewrote almost the entire movie so there's no reason to think he didn't write Vegeta's parts.FutureGohanSSJ2 wrote:Mr. Watanabe is the one to thank for all the Vegeta-wanking throughout the film.
And what we got with him wasn't anything new cause in the manga he's on the same level as Goku in terms of importance to the story so it's not surprising he has an important role in these new movies.

Based on...what? Freeza was an evil being that chose to be evil. Buu was a force of destruction with barely any level of sentience and NO concept of right and wrong. And he was reincarnated as a favor to Goku by Enma.dbzfan7 wrote:Caught up and....why is Freeza being imprisoned? Why isn't he being purified? Well, after reading the past few pages, I really hope this film is the furthest thing from serious. I hope this film is a response to all the complaints about Battle of Gods' tone. Just like when fans complained that Toriyama's art was getting 'too angular' and he took it a step further. This time, let's upset everyone who thinks Dragon Ball is being 'too light'.
I was on board with some concerns regarding tone in the past, but these same people are now taking things a step too far.
When has hell ever been serious in this series?! Wonderful little angels sound amazing.
If there's anything to talk about, it should be about whether the angels came first or whether they were created for the sake of this idol group. Whether their performances will be worth a damn and how we feel about the series being associated with such a thing.

I don't know if they are so much responding to fans as much as Mr.Toriyama just taking his artistic liberties with making an amusing story with his natural quirks. I'm sure whatever he does will be fine as it always ends up great regardless of sillyness mixed in.AjayLikesGaming wrote:Well, after reading the past few pages, I really hope this film is the furthest thing from serious. And? That's no excuse to give Freeza this kind of treatment. Everyone gets reincarnated except for those who have done extremely good. Those people get to keep their bodies instead of losing themselves. The ultimate punishment is losing your identity.FutureGohanSSJ2 wrote:Based on...what? I have to say i agree only in the sense that i have enjoyed Vegeta's character grow into one of my favorites. He's a fun character as his pride and emotions have complicated his growth and overall character. This is not to say other characters haven't been more or less important however i just have gown to really like Vegeta.sintzu wrote:Based on how Z's story goes I can't say I disagree with him.FutureGohanSSJ2 wrote:I believe that Vegeta is Dragon Ball‘s unofficial star.

...You mean with Vegeta making everything worse and then finally conceding that Goku's better than him? Yeah sure, that's true... if you ignore literally every other character and their stories and development.sintzu wrote:Based on how Z's story goes I can't say I disagree with him.FutureGohanSSJ2 wrote:I believe that Vegeta is Dragon Ball‘s unofficial star.
