Damn, and we're getting Next episode previews and all of the opening and closing credits, too? Who know, maybe Funi will dub the OP and ED's!
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

The fact that the GT and (presumably) DB Season Sets did not end up having the same gigantic flaws as the Z sets says to me that we already had. But this is on an entirely different level.

They're doing this for the movies as well. Unless they release the 2008 special with it, I'm going to say "Nothankyou.jpg" to it.

I might rebuy DBZ, but it would have to be an impulse purchase.

Maybe by the time they release the movie set, they'll get the Jump Special rights. They obviously have the money. :P

Maybe the season sets were a way to raise cash for the Dragon Box?

Vindicated, and for the reasons I stated in an earlier post. This is what should have happened from the beginning and he knew it, he fucking knew it. He FOUGHT for this and he tried very hard to champion the fandom to that cause at the same time, only for that fandom to (mostly) whine and complain about having to pick up a sword. He was clearly right about FUNimation knowing exactly what we want and that it's simply a matter of us demonstrating that we KNOW they know.

What is with the whole "Corey's gonna kill himself when he hears this, EL-OH-EL" undercurrent present in this thread? I'm not qualified to speak for his feelings, but I'll bet if anything he's got a lot of reason to make us feel like idiots now that the series is finally seeing the competent release we all wanted from the beginning.

We all. Meaning him, too; he wanted this as much as any of us.

The budget (Season Set) releases were bound to sell well, if Season 1 was to go by. Fuck knows who much money FUNi made on the Season Sets (let alone Season 1.)

Now bring on the luxuries. 8)

Funimation also announced the fall release of the Dragon Ball Z “Dragon Box,” produced from the original Dragon Ball Z masters. With 42 episodes per release, at a $79.98 MSRP, it will also include the complete opening and closing credits, the original episode previews, and will be presented with a 4:3 aspect ratio.
Mostly stuff we know, but with 2 nuggets of new News.

Confirmation: Next episode Previews included
Well, I was going to just going to buy the first two to replace seasos 1 and 2, but with this...Damn it...

If they do release the other Dragonboxes, I probably won't buy those though. I am satisfied enough with their releases of those to not risk poverty. Well...I'd better go pick up some aluminum cans.

That would be awesome, or just include the original openings like how the Double Features started doing.

Now that it can be said, I'll actually be banging the first set of those out this week. Very cool indeed.

I know this is off-topic, but I salute you for your work on the subtitles. :D

If you ever, in this process see any new footage you've never translated for FUNi before... like, oh lets say, the Playdia Not-OVA. Could you PLEASE let us know?!?!

Thank you for the awesome work on the subtitles, Mr. Daimao. I'm definitely elated that now I can purchase my dream release of the series - Dragon Box footage with your work attached for the translation.
