The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

Vegeta was crawling away on his stomach while Kuririn was limping after him with a sword in his hand. If that's good enough shape to kill all of them then the Earth was doomed from the start!Raki wrote:Vegeta was still in good enough shape to kill all of them.Shoryuken wrote:No. Gohan transformed into an ape after the genki dama had hit Vegeta.Raki wrote:The monkey landing on him did that.

That was after Gohan crushed him.Kendamu wrote:Vegeta was crawling away on his stomach while Kuririn was limping after him with a sword in his hand. Before that (and after being hit by the genki dama) he was still good enough to kill them all and he was about to do it, when Gohan looked at the artificial moon.

The order the comments went in made it sound like Vegeta was in good shape after being crushed. I was just poking a bit of fun at it.rereboy wrote: That was after Gohan crushed him.

Yeah but at least they had to do with martial arts tournament that was like the 2nd main point of DB next to the Dragonballs. Or it was to do with training for those tournaments. Other than that it was about the balls. Now in Z it started off about getting the dragonballs or keeping them away from someone, then we get to the androids where you gotta kill them to save humanity, but oh wait we get a big ass bug monster from the future that sucks those androids through his tail, now we gotta save the universe from him. Then we get to buu OMG a big pink gum monster that has absolutly nothing to do with the dragonballs at all. Yes the dballs were used during those times but it wasnt about getting them. Also yes there was some tournaments during that time which was cool. I did like how cell used the cell games but then it was also a stupid idea considering there was no point to the arena, even from the start.Kendamu wrote:Lets forget that half of the arcs in Dragonball weren't about the Dragonballs... just like Z!AndoKomando wrote:Lets deviate from the DragonBalls all together and make everyone a Super Saiyan! Yeah, that's what bothers me on most discussion boards......Kendamu wrote:Let's try to make sense of everything in-universe... including gag characters!
I'm not that much dissapointed on anything, but I noticed that spine art on Viz books isn't linear, but when I bought Jap. tankobouns, it's perfectly narrow together.....
Also I'm dissapointed by TOEI's worldwide market decisions so far because of anime series Saint Seiya and Dragon Ball, when I'm pushed to buying Japanese goodies to have flawless (in comparing it to outside releases) and hi-quality stuff.....
TOEI is also pain in the ass sometimes, even Saint Seiya's mangaka Masami Kurumada left them and last two anime arcs of Hades were made in different studio, because he was dissapointed by TOEI's decisions and one of their movies were reason to start whole new Saint Seiya manga series to clear the name of this series and repair some of those decisions that TOEI made....
When I saw whole anime series, I think that Dragon Ball had luck.....

Lessee... The first two (of four) arcs in Z were about the Dragonballs. The next was a continuation of the Red Ribbon Army stuff (which was about the Dragonballs) that turned into training for a tournament and then a tournament. The last part started with a tournament that got interrupted by the greatest evil force in the cosmos... and then ended with a tournament once that evil was extinguished.AndoKomando wrote:Yeah but at least they had to do with martial arts tournament that was like the 2nd main point of DB next to the Dragonballs. That last one kinda reminds me of this time before Raditz showed up where there was a tournament and the greatest evil demon known at the time showed up and caused major destruction. It sort of interrupted this tournament for a whole island of people except for this one naive country boy.
So, the entire first half of the Z series' arcs have to do with the Dragonballs. The next arc is a continuation of something about the Dragonballs that turns into a tournament. The last part is about a tournament that turns into a battle for the universe and ends with another tournament.

Whatever dude. I mean still cell wasn't much of a tournament at all. It was just covered up by calling it a tournament. And really you cant say the androids are apart of the dragonballs since Dr. Gero had no plans for the dballs at all. Yes it was a continuation of the RR saga but it still had nothing to do with the dragonballs no matter how you place it. Also i wasnt saying anything bad about the first part of Z the saiyans to freeza since their whole thing was getting the balls. Plus buu had absolutley nothing to do with the dragonballs you could compare him to piccolo in DB but at least piccolo used the dballs to get younger. I still stand by the fact that they deviated away from the dragonballs in Z. I aint saying i hated it i just thought it was kinda dumb that it was just action without adventure, i like the action but db/z is better with adventure.Kendamu wrote:Lessee... Don't have a cow, man. Tubular and cowabunga to you, too!AndoKomando wrote:Whatever dude.

No. It was a tournament. It was called the Cell Game and, essentially, Cell was fighting in every division. I've seen it happen in real life, too. A guy I know named Jhun fought in nearly every match of the Pacific Island Gathering tournament in Chicago back in October. He placed in the top three in every division of both sword and knife.I mean still cell wasn't much of a tournament at all. It was just covered up by calling it a tournament.
The Red Ribbon arc was about the Dragonballs. Goku took the Red Ribbon Army out of the way to get the Dragonballs (and because they're bad guys who did bad things to his friends). Years later, the last remnant of the Red Ribbon Army wants revenge against Goku for messing up their Dragonball hunt and destroying the organization in the process. And really you cant say the androids are apart of the dragonballs since Dr. Gero had no plans for the dballs at all. Yes it was a continuation of the RR saga but it still had nothing to do with the dragonballs no matter how you place it.
Still looks like it has something major to do with the Dragonballs to me.
If it's not about the Dragonballs then that's like saying this: One day I find out my good friend beats his girlfriend, who is also my friend. I help her out of that bad situation and put the guy in his place. In the process, somewhere down the line, the girl and I start dating. A few years later we get married and live happily until one day the old boyfriend and former friend comes into the restaurant we're having our anniversary dinner at and tries to bust my head open with a baseball bat.
It's been years and the times have changed, but it's still about that girl he was beating all those years ago.
I know. I was just breaking it down to show that a major portion of the series is related to the Dragonballs. Also i wasnt saying anything bad about the first part of Z the saiyans to freeza since their whole thing was getting the balls.
I'm talking about Piccolo Jr. and the 23rd Tenka'ichi Budoukai. Otherwise I could easily say, "At least Goku used the Dragonballs to reincarnate Buu as a good guy," in return.Plus buu had absolutley nothing to do with the dragonballs you could compare him to piccolo in DB but at least piccolo used the dballs to get younger.
Well, imagine the whole story as one series like the manga is for a moment. You've still got pretty much the same ratio: about half of the series is actually about the Dragonballs and generally it alternates between Dragonball hunts and other types of stories.I still stand by the fact that they deviated away from the dragonballs in Z. I aint saying i hated it i just thought it was kinda dumb that it was just action without adventure, i like the action but db/z is better with adventure.
Oh, and another point to bring up: The Dragonballs didn't even exist for a large part of the Artificial Human arc. It's sort of hard for the story to revolve around the Dragonballs when they don't even exist.

Re: Let's ruin Dragonball!
I don't see the problem with Yajirobe being on twice.Rory wrote:Inconsistancy/that's plain fucking dumb thread!
Simple thread, something that really bothers you about Dragonball, that you want to share with everybody else (let's stick to one problem per person).
I'll start!
Let's put Yajirobe on the spine of Dragonball TWICE , for no reason!!
You won't unsee it.
Ok guys, your turn!
Goku is on the spine twice, there's no reason for that, and at least we're not getting a GT reference by having two 17's on there.
