Eh, minor cuts? I'm okay with that.

Even Japan doesn't get an uncut edition of the show.

Penguintruth, I think he meant edited script wise.

I dunno... To me it sounds like he's saying that the script will be 99% or maybe even 100% accurate, and that it'll air on TV that way, but with very slight adjustments like removing swearing and perversion. I doubt the English dub will lack the swearing and perversion on the DVDs and BDs.

Well, I'm sure he means as uncut has Toei left it for FUNi. They aren't going to censor it anymore than it already is.

And damn, even with improper names and Linda Young, I really want to check out this dub. If I end up stomaching as much as say, Gurren Lagann's dub, which had good scripting with blah acting, it'll blow my expectations fro a DB dub out of the water.

Don't get me wrong. I'll absolutely watch it. It's DBZ on TV again!

Hell, I taped DBZ's dub on CN, even when I knew better!

But I'm not really expecting anything great from the dub.

Nicktoons Network's available in standard definition and HD, according to Wikipedia.

Are the Japanese home releases uncut? As in with blood and swearing etc? Or has Kai been edited from the start and it's just airing on TV as it is?
Actions have reactions so don't be quick to judge, you may not know the hardships that people don't speak of.

Well, swearing was never an issue in Japan. All the censorship on Fuji TV are on the home releases, but that's not to say some blood isn't left in.

official censored version:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhuLyk1FjgQ

unofficial uncensored version:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zIZOLkHyI0

its a little bit off topic but i dont know ...
if the uncesored version is too brutal, then the mods can delete this !

€//

of course i meant ARTHUR ... Caillou is another preschool series ^^ !

The word "KAI" means in the old North Germanic language Frisian "Kämpfer engl. Fighter" respectively "Krieger engl. Warrior"!

Caillou? That was Arthur. And that "uncensored" version sounded like a parody someone made.

That's probably the German title.

Well, Treklin did say "unofficial uncensored version"...

YTV could comission their own dub if they wanted to. They've used their sister company (Nelvana) for that very reason in the past. Most famous being Salior Moon's later seasons. Doesn't mean they will, or if it's a smart idea. Just that they'd be able to.
Maybe that will not happen. I doubt they'll air the FUNimation dub of Kai on Nicktoons and YTV (in addition, they'll try to air the first 67 episodes of "Ultimate Uncut" DBZ like they did on CN in 2005-2006 even DB, DBZ (68-291), and DBGT 1-64 + Recap on YTV as well.)

Well, yeah. I don't think there's going to be any swearing on the "Kai" dub that airs on Nicktoons.

Wow, this is awesome I get to watch Dragonball Kai on TV again! Though watching it on Nick is going to be weird, almost like cheating on your girlfriend. I can't believe Cartoon Network didn't embrace this opportunity, they really shot themselves in the foot with this one. With Brotherhood on Adult Swim I would have thought CN would embrace more anime, especially the anime that real brought in the viewers. Say what you will but DBZ and CN go together like peanutbutter and Jelly.
...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?

Agreed. I have such fond memories of watching DBZ on Cartoon Network.

Things were like that back in the Toonami days, but not anymore.

Dragon Ball Kai? Uncut and unedited?

What I meant by Uncut and Unedited is that FUNimation will not cut or edit any of the Original Japanese Video Footage.

I know it's a bit weird, but look on the bright side, there's not going to be much editing/censoring done.
