That makes things difficult for FUNimation.

It'll be disappointing if Kai pulls a Budokai 1.

"Toei decides to end Kai with an ultra condensed, completely reanimated movie of the Buu arc"

I know, but it'd be a cool idea.

If Toei for some reason stopped being cheap bastards, the Boo arc is still too long to condense it into a movie. We don't want to have another One Piece Movie 8. Maybe if it was two movies...

Would a four-part miniseries be out of the question?

Part 1) "The Strongest Under the Heavens"
- The events of the 25th Tournament, including some backstory for Gohan's stints at High School and as Saiyaman.
Part 2) "The Ancient Demon Awakens"
- The events between the Tournament and Majin Boo's awakening, and the initial havoc wreaked upon Earth.
Part 3) "The Earth In Peril"
- Majin Boo morphs, characters fuse, everything goes higgeldy-piggeldy.
Part 4) "The Last Resort"
- Vegetto up through Kid Boo's defeat. Includes the epilogue ten years later.

Maybe they're working on the kanzenban ending while Toriko airs? I can't imagine editing existing footage would be exhausting enough by itself to warrant a break, so that's what I think Toei's doing...

Well yeah, if your hoping to see all your fav moments from the manga, but the core of the story could be done in one film easily.

So today in japan is the JUMP Festa thing. Does anyone know when we should know something?

Greg's there. I was thinking of asking him if he could find anything out (I know there's a Kai panel going on sometime). Maybe a Toei representative is within arm's reach, too?

It could be that Fuji TV will air that new Anime for one day during the 9am time slot in an attempt to get Kai's audience (which is a lot of people) to watch it, then resume Kai at its normal 9am slot the following week.

If Kai does not get the Buu saga, then the Japanese fans should boycott that Toriko anime; send Toei a message that they need to produce the Kai version of the Buu saga for broadcast.

The Buu saga is not my favourite saga, but it is the most fun saga of DBZ. Plus the filler in that saga is usually just as good as the canon material. Such as the base Vegito vs Buu fight, which is as good as SSJ Vegeta vs Buu. I was surprised when I found out that the former is actually filler.

Then we have the Great Saiyaman material, which most people (I find) say is better in the Anime than Manga. (I haven't read the Manga version of Great Saiyaman yet)

There's no reason to boycott Toriko. It has nothing to do with Dragon Ball Kai being either replaced or cancelled. Any issue is with Dragon Ball Kai sucking. ;)

Everyone ignored me when I said Kenji Yamamoto would be a great composer for Kai too, and then it actually happened.

So the kanzenban ending in Kai is basically confirmed. 8)

Which Kai certainly does not, especially compared to it's obese contradicting brother.

So was anything said about the state of Kai at Jump Festa?!

Yes, because ratings and sales are directly tied to product quality. Shitty stuff never sells well.

I agree with you about Kai being good, but I could list thousands of very bad things that get great ratings and do very well at retail.

 From what I've gathered (anyone, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong), but Kai's gotten strong ratings during its run. So, objectively speaking, it is a success. Still, feel free to spout your butthurt potshots at Kai all you like.

So I guess that wink didn't tip anybody off to that statement being a joke...?

Not that such matters. I've got to sneak into your homes and stick a gun to your heads to force you to admit Kai sucks now...
