I was so sad when this happened

I know I'm just going to sound like everyone else but my heart and thoughts go out to Japan. I wish I had some money to donate but I'm struggling myself with money. One of the tragic things about this is that, as I understand, but I could be wrong, is that Japan was on their way to an economic recovery. This isn't going to help matters much

It's too bad. I hope not too many people died.

I understand that this is not DB related in the anime sense, but I think since it's affecting the country of origin and a lot of people in Japan that are suffering and will suffer from this; I thought it would be considerate to shed light on it so others could be informed and maybe even stay connected partly through this forum. I believe a sharing of information is critical at this point.
I found out about the disaster thanks to this thread, so I'm glad it is here. I like it when theme-specific message boards have a "General Discussion" section so the community can talk about other things other than the specific theme of the board. But I can see it can be tough to manage so..yeah there's my off-topic.

My prayers are with everyone in Japan. We have a foreign-exchange student from Japan who didn't come to school today. Though I heard her family (who live in Tokyo) are alright but can't get to their home. She must be so worried and dismayed right now...

Glad to hear some of our fellow members in Japan are OK. This disaster is just insane considering devastating earthquakes recently hit New Zealand and China. Heck the latter one was just yesterday in Yunnan. Only to be overshadowed by this horrific mess.

I sent what little money I could to the Red Cross for this earthquake.

What's funny is that when I saw Battle: LA today, in the intro they talk about a disaster happen in Japan. Odd that this and this movie where released on the same day.

Well, at least we know that Toriyama is
okay since he lives in Aichi therefore the waves from the earthquakes didn't even reach him.

I'm glad to see everyone here seems fine, that's the first part of good news. Of course, there's still other people that need to be found (I hope there are no more casualties). I wonder if all the manga-ka I read from are still okay...and my old Japanese teacher's family should still be living there. Hope everyone is fine.

Ahh now the Japanese officials have called a state of emergency in two nuclear plants because the reactors' cooling systems have been knocked out. Here's a link
http://www.foxnews.com/world/2011/03/11 ... lant-leak/. I live near the Hanford Nuclear Reservation in Southeastern WA and I've heard stories about that stuff happening (in other areas), and it if they don't cool down the reactors in time, it won't end well.

You think they'll get the Nuclear thing fixed in time? What will happen if it explodes? Radiation right?

http://www.foxnews.com/world/2011/03/12 ... -meltdown/ Seems like radiation is already leaking, and an explosion has happened, though it has only destroyed a wall of the reactor. They better quarantine that stuff and get the population out of there (though by now most hopefully are). This stuff is getting really crazy.

I'm glad to see the Japanese Daizexians that reported in are safe.
= Edit: A member of another forum informed us that until Japan requests for help the money won't be going there. If you're looking to donate to help aid them I'd hold off until that point. (Not that donating to charity period would be a bad thing, I just don't want to mislead any of you guys.) =
I implore you guys to donate to the Canadian Red Cross, American Red Cross or Doctors Without Boarders (if there's any other good charities that will help out that I missed feel free to chime in.) Verbal sympathy is great but your donations will help out even more if you have the money to do so.
I know some people have issues with the Red Cross so as I said above any other charities you guys know of that can help would be appreciated, never hurts to have options.

Yeah, the British Red Cross just updated their
earthquake page stating the same thing.
Hopefully Japan will formally request help soon so we can donate.
EDIT: According to a comment on there, the BBC has stated that Japan has requested assitance from the UK. Hopefully UK charities will soon allow donations.

Fuji TV's schedule has special news programming scheduled for all day Sunday, so it doesn't look like there will be any Kai (or One Piece) this weekend. No surprise there.
...And while looking that up, I started seeing reports that there are 9,500 people unaccounted for in Minamisanriku, a town in Miyagi prefecture. :\

The UK Red Cross is now accepting
donations.
ShelterBox is preparing to help, you can donate
here. It should be noted that ShelterBox does NOT allow you to choose which location your box will go to, but boxes
will be sent to Japan. Just making that clear.

That's good by me. Gives Toei more time to put the Kikuchi score into Kai.

DBZ bootlegs have the movie 9 cover with the pioneer movie 2 description on the back and the disc actually has a Japanese soap opera in MEPG2.
