Re: Dragonball: Project Age - PS360 - First Scan [6/5/2011]
If it's really RB3 then one can see it as a HD version of the Tenkaichi series, with the only exception that they have long pockets and short arms considering the character inclusion from all three anime series.
What would be important as well: COSTUMES!
For God's sake put in the real ones from the series and not bullshit color changes no one cares two fucks about.

Maybe we'll see SSJ3 Trunks in this.

I'm good with that as long as they don't shaft him on a moveset.

Here's the "scan" rehosted if you can't view it:

The Goku and Vegeta models looks a lot like the RB2 one:goku the krump dancer wrote:I dont want to jump the gun and call it RB3 just yet, because nothing in the scan resembles RB well maybe the bottom pic does but still I'm going to wait for the trailer witch for most people will probably be the deal breaker.

Thanks. The scan gives me a good feeling that it's RB3, and I will not be surprise if a 3rd RB game is made. It seems like Spike might been working on the game before the second game came out.

The HUDs looks a lot like Tenkaichi Tag Team... I think this may be Tenkaichi Tag + Raging Blast + Zenkai. We'll have to wait and see.

There is a possible teaser on 5/11/011. I can't wait to see what happens and it looks like the gameplay in the screenshots looks different as well.

While the top screen looks like stuff we've all seen before, I'm more curious about the bottom screen. THAT looks like a neat art direction. Although I wouldn't be surprised if that's just a lighting effect for a move/combo.
Someone please just get CyberConnect2 to make a Dragonball game. Their Ultimate Ninja Storm series looks breathtakingly true to the source material.
Excited to see more.

CC2 are amazing at their games but I wouldn't let them touch Dragonball. Their style is perfect for Naruto and just because it is doesn't mean it'll translate well over to Dragonball.Haseowolf wrote:While the top screen looks like stuff we've all seen before, I'm more curious about the bottom screen. The thing people forget is that this isn't Mortal Kombat, Naruto or any games in that vein, these games (to remain true to animé) need to be over-the-shoulder, Spike has the idea completely right but it comes with sacrifices to the combat systems and making them (more) unique makes it horribly unbalanced, just look at Burter in the Raging Blast games.
I think Spike just need more development time and money and then they'll make a far better game. Unfortunately it wont make that money back and hence why we're stuck with our complaints regardless of developer

What I really meant to convey is that at least let the art team from CC2 into the Dragonball fold and let them translate the look of the anime into the look of the games. Gameplay wise I'd be cool with the regular Spike team, Dimps, or whoever did Ultimate Butouden.Jaruka wrote: CC2 are amazing at their games but I wouldn't let them touch Dragonball. Fair dos mate, I can at least agree with that. The original Raging Blast is still the best looking Dragonball Z game though, wish they'd go back to thatHaseowolf wrote:What I really meant to convey is that at least let the art team from CC2 into the Dragonball fold and let them translate the look of the anime into the look of the games. I can never decide if I prefer Raging Blast 1/2 or Burst Limit. Burst Limit changed some of the original style of Dragonball [read: Super Saiya-jin pupils], but I think it did a REALLY stellar job at giving the series a facelift. I just wish the storymode didn't repeat animations so often >.<.

Well when I play the second game I think it's amazing and beautiful but then I play the first one and I change my mindHaseowolf wrote: I can never decide if I prefer Raging Blast 1/2 or Burst Limit. Hmm, how often is that Shenron imagery used? I've noticed it looks exactly like the logo for Chou (Super) Dragon Ball Z:

I doubt it would be a Super Dragon Ball Z sequel given the developer is working on Earth Seeker for Wii, and the fact it would be an arcade title first, but it is interesting. Do you guys think this was just JUMP looking to fill up empty space with a random stock image?
Siliconera is saying it isn't Raging Blast 3.

All they say is "It looks different from Raging Blast", and that's not true at all. The models in the first screenshot look identical to the character models in RB2.Super Saiyan Prime wrote:Siliconera is saying it isn't Raging Blast 3.

It's funny how they used the image that looks most like Raging Blast 2Taku128 wrote:All they say is "It looks different from Raging Blast", and that's not true at all. The bottom image, however, is more interesting.

Re: Dragonball: Project Age - PS360 - First Scan [6/5/2011]
The more I think about this game the more I'm working my self up, so I need to stop. lol
It is obviously made by Spike and is using elements from the RB series, despite the current aesthetic differences we've seen in our whole two images. For all we know Spike could be rebooting it as their next series after Raging Blast since they had to give it a code name, but I don't really care if it is called Raging Blast 3 or something else entirely. All I have to say is they better not reset the roster, and this isn't because I want them to focus more on the characters than the other parts of the game, it is only because I'm tired of them cutting the characters out and then turning around an using said characters we've already had before as a selling point. Why give us someone like Future Gohan last series, remove him for the reboot, and then a couple games later dangle him in front of us and say "Want something new? Guess who you can have back! He's new and improved, look how shiny!". If they are going to give us someone "new" let 'em actually be NEW. While given a pretty crappy moveset, it was still nice to play as 14 and 15. If this turns out to be another reboot instead of a sequel, I don't want to lose them only to have them put in a game later using the same marketing scheme.

How the heck does anyone come up with this junk? Those pictures mean nothing. And that other image was probably from a previous game, because this suppose to be an action gamemysticboy wrote:Maybe it'll be a spiritual successor to Super DBZ.Super Saiyan Prime wrote:Hmm, how often is that Shenron imagery used?
