I'm just sad to see the Yamamoto score go. I was just giving myself hope. ;saddowns;PuppetDoctor wrote:Awww thanks for that morning laugh Mike. That is to say, "stop reading stupid things on the Internet".
And so ends my snarky 8:30 am posting. Let's convene back after I've had my coffee and see how it all goes.
I also don't understand all this confusion with Dragon Ball Kai Part 5. Early copies have been mailed and the Kikuchi score is on the set it has been CONFIRMED!!!

I just feel sad cause Kai doesn't feel like Kai with the old music.. I know Kai is rehashed cut-up DBZ... but the new music made it feel fresh... the old music makes it look MORE like just rehashed cut-up DBZ....

So this set stops at the end of the Artificial Human arc right? Also, I've ever bought a Kai set before so I was wondering if this release looks nice on Blu-Ray? I know Funi released a couple Brolli movies on Blu-Ray and they were pretty over saturated and overall "meh" releases.

It stops at episode 65, which is the episode where 18 beats Vegeta up. Not exactly the end of the AH arc but it's close.Akumaito Beam wrote:So this set stops at the end of the Artificial Human arc right? Ah, thanks. I see they aren't going by singles logic where they try to give you some bonus episodes if they're nearing the end of the saga just to make it neat and tidy.funrush wrote: It stops at episode 65, which is the episode where 18 beats Vegeta up. Hmm, I actually like how the music goes with this. They've put some effort into it and done a decent job.
I have a question to those that own the BluRay release though - can you check if, like the previous releases, it's both region A and B? Thanks.

It probably is, I don't see why it wouldn't.BobZ wrote:I have a question to those that own the BluRay release though - can you check if, like the previous releases, it's both region A and B? Thanks.
I'd like to put my request here again since the old one is already a page back. I was wondering, can anyone post a clip of the beginning of episode 55, when Freeza is floating in space? I loved the music placing in that scene when Yamamoto's score was still in, and I would like to see how Kikuchi sounds in that scene.

Re: Kai Part 5 Discussion Thread
Oh thanks, that's great. The reason I asked is because as far as I know in Funi's FMA Brotherhood releases some of the BluRays were regions A and B, and the others were locked to one region only, making them unplayable in Europe, which really sucks. I was just a bit worried they'd go and do something simalrly sinister to Kai as well.

Re: Kai Part 5 Discussion Thread
My copy is on its way now, it'll be here on the 30th.
I plan on marathon-ing the whole series after this, Watching all the way from Saiyan to the end of Freeza.
The music change may just Jar me... Though, I was happy to get Vol. 4, now I know I'll have the Yamamoto Score at least through Ep 52.
I'd hate to see any of the Freeza arc with Only a Chilling Elegy removed from any of the scenes its supposed to be in.

Only a Chilling Elegy is still there post-Yamamoto. The only removed insert song (to my dismay, because it was my favorite) is Saiyan Blood. Can't even find the scene on Youtube.I'd hate to see any of the Freeza arc with Only a Chilling Elegy removed from any of the scenes its supposed to be in.

Wasn't News Of The Cell Games arranged by Yamamoto, too? If so it's gone forever, and it is my favorite Kai insert song by far.

Will the Trunks insert song still be intact?

At least this isn't Z where Yamamoto composed nearly every insert song. Even "CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA" would be gone!

With the exception of Battle Point Unlimited and Battle Colored Warriors, Yamamoto didn't "compose" any of DBZ's theme or insert songs. He just did arrangements.GotenDaisuki wrote:At least this isn't Z where Yamamoto composed nearly every insert song. Even "CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA" would be gone!

He did compose Shura Iro no Senshi which plays in episode 20.jpdbzrulz4sure wrote:With the exception of Battle Point Unlimited, Yamamoto didn't "compose" any of DBZ's theme or insert songs. Oh, okay. My mistake. I saw his name in the credits and automatically asumed that he was the composer. Kai played too much of an influence on me, I guess you can say.jpdbzrulz4sure wrote:With the exception of Battle Point Unlimited, Yamamoto didn't "compose" any of DBZ's theme or insert songs. Oops, my mistake.kei17 wrote:He did compose Shura Iro no Senshi which plays in episode 20.

I'd say it stands a good chance, since Yamamoto had nothing to do with it.Gozar wrote:Will the Trunks insert song still be intact?

Re: Kai Part 5 Discussion Thread
So, did FUNi mix the Kikuchi tunes differently on their Kai release or something or is it just the same stuff I'm hearing on the TV episodes where they'll just play an entire track all the way through, wait a few seconds, and then start a new track?

Re: Kai Part 5 Discussion Thread
It's the same score. For some reason though it's mixed real well with the Trunks and beginning of the Android stuff, but once 17 and 18 show up it noticabely goes downhill.Kendamu wrote:So, did FUNi mix the Kikuchi tunes differently on their Kai release or something or is it just the same stuff I'm hearing on the TV episodes where they'll just play an entire track all the way through, wait a few seconds, and then start a new track?
