It'll most likely be the FUNimation dub, I'd say it'll just be the Madman version ported with the Manga logo etc, but I'll be surprised if it turns out to be completely redone.

Well this is gonna mean even more people getting confused over the actual aspect ratio of the series, and what remastering should actually be like. Ugh. I wouldn't mind so much if it didn't have "Digitally Remastered" on the front cover, it's not as if there was a previous UK release of the show for it to be an "improvement" upon. Then there's the problem with the story of the show (referring to the dub).

Oh well, I've got Z twice through + Kai anyway so I'm not gonna be picking this up. Now if it's the triumphant return of the Big Green dub, on the other hand...

Even so, I may pick up a single season just for the sake of saying "I have it"

Wow, after all that, we really are getting the series?
Ah, it's not the Blu-Rays?
Cool story man, I'll stick with my Dragon Box though.

Yeah, so will I.

I would have preferred getting One Piece or Kai, tbh.

Is someone going to change the topic title? It is no longer accurate.

I know this is an unrelated question, but can anyone tell me whether FUNImation have the home video rights for the Dragonball/Kai series in Canada? I'm just asking because this UK release appears to be the FUNImation version based on the boxart and what is mentioned on the BBFC site, and I'm just wondering, if FUNI has the UK home video market now, does that mean they've locked up all of the regions that could have potentially recieved the Canadian dubbed version?

Also, here is a better image of the UK release AD:

Thats cool for us but I probably won't be picking em up what with me already owning 6 of the 7 Dragonboxes. I hope people who used to watch it on toonami years ago who didn't really become fans see these and have a nostalgia explosion in there heads and pick them up and inspire them to become bigger fans.

Can someone with Twitter tweet Manga UK with some kind of smartass quip about 1 + 1 turning out to be 3 after all? Tell 'em Tori sent ya.

Unless, of course, they were trying to preserve the surprise until it was officially announced. ... In fact, no, do it anyway. There are nicer ways to keep people off the trail.

Been there, done that

Also, it was 2 + 2 = 5.

Manga UK's twitter is currently denying this. Also, I looked up HMV.com, and couldn't find dragonball anywhere on the website aside from Evolution...
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Someone needs to tweet them that ad a few posts up, then. I'd love to see their reaction to that...

It might just be me, but that ad isn't showing anymore on here - http://www.myebook.com/index.php?option=ebook&id=99009 (Page 34). Where it originally came from.

yeah its not working for me, either it could be that Manga UK asked for the image to be removed in order to surprise at the expo, they seem to have already started denying it on their twitter.
If this is legitimate I don’t see why they attempt to hush fans, we have been asking for a release, isn’t this creating a buzz in the UK fandom who ideally they need to be aiming these sets to.

still its a little bit to late I found the reaction of Manga UK twitter page a couple on months ago enough incentive to start collecting the dragon boxes, So I have my definitive release

this will be great for all the people who didn't import I don’t want this to be a failure like the big green releases, I think this can do well for them if they play this right.
unless Kai gets a TV airing with the supposed alternate dub I don’t see Manga UK licensing that anytime soon

(I have to say I have never been a fan of Funimation’s plastic and cardboard boxes for the Faux-remastered sets so I’m glad that Manga took a page out of Madman with the DVD Jewel cases)

Various other websites such as UK-Anime and Anime News Network show it and are reporting on it still.
I love how the guy on twitter thinks he's smacking down fans by attempting to deny it via twitter lol. Too lazy to get on twitter and get on the fun.

Ironically I only recently was able to start getting the Dragon Boxes...which plenty of us now can just pop up and say "Oh, so you are? Because you clearly said there wasn't gonna be a release and we got these  "

Too late... it's just... too late. The Dragon Boxes are over, and it's too late to cash in from other fans who wait the Blu-ray releases.

I'm sure there are still plenty of people that will buy it who didn't import the Orange Bricks or the Dragon Boxes....but there's no excuse. Even more so after the shit that went down last month.
