Buu Hierarchy

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

Ah, I stumbled upon another post where Herms theorizes that genki is "vital". I'm guessing that's what you were remembering, 012yArthur0.

Just the fact that it took everybody's KI (Including Gohan, Gotenks and Piccolo) to create the spirit bomb to destroy Pure Evil, while Gohan can pwn Super Buu around all day.

For now, that's it's the only evidence I found, however, it's controversial, since we don't know how much ki they actually spent on the spirit bomb.
That's not necessarily the case.

Chapter: 515 (DBZ 321), P5.3
Context: after Vegeta says he’ll hold off Boo again, so Goku can prepare the Genki-Dama
Goku: “You’ll sta-stall for time?…Yo-you’ve just been restored to life. Your ki still ain’t full, is it?!

And at this point Vegeta's Ki was so low he couldn't transform in Super Saiyan. Of course it could be argued that, even though his injuries are healed, his Ki was like that because of his fight against Pure Boo. But my point is that it is not necessarily the case.

I don't dislike the Boo arc; I just think the writing had gotten really poor by that point and Toriyama's fatigue was really showing through, in both art and story. Of course, perhaps if the Boo arc didn't exist, many of us wouldn't be fans today, but it still went beyond a point that Toriyama really wanted it to.
You certainly make it sound as though you dislike it with how vocal you are about the supposed shitty writing, and there's no certainty that it was intended to end before that point anyway.

You mention the shitty writing/fatigue/etc a lot. It seems that every chance you get to bring it up, you do, even if it's not really that relevant to do so.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

No, it's just a big part of the reason of why the Boo arc has so many problems, arguably moreso than the Cell arc. And Toriyama had intended to end the series at multiple points, but kept changing his mind, due to popularity, the editors or his fans' interference. These aren't rumours; they're factually supported in interviews.

Do I? I never realized that (although you're the first person to have brought it up). Perhaps it seems to come up just as much as arguments over whether Gohan was SS or SS2 vs. Dabra & Fat Boo, or who was stronger between Super Boo and Pure Boo. At any rate, I'll try to dial it down.
