Fight wasn't at its end, in the manga the guy was completely kicking Kuwbara's ass and then when Kuwbara hears Yukina's voice, Kuwbara automatically one shots the guy because of "the power of love"
I've never read the manga. In the anime, it's clear that Kuwabara is planning to die to win the fight and allow his friends to advance. He also doesn't one shot him, he breaks Risho's armor and smacks the crap out of him by drawing on his life energy. Don't knock "the power of love", it's a great song.

Is it really a spoiler if the series is 20 years old?

I wasn't knocking the Back to the Future song. It literally says in the manga that Kuwbara won because of the Power of Love.

I don't think spoilers have a time or limits, as long as it's spoiler it's a spoiler, being an old series doesn't change that fact. but i don't mind if it's ok to spoil old shows here.

It was a joke, I thought it was obvious. Kuwabara's always been a character that wore his heart on his sleeve, so his friends and loved ones provide a great source of energy for him.

Rosebud is a sled, and Heston was on Earth the entire tme.

But yeah YuYu Hakusho  2nd favorite anime/manga ever. Togashi is just a genius tbh, but I think he's a better writer as he aged. Hunter x Hunter is my fav shonen right now, with Toriko and Hajime no Ippo
Tim Duncan is dope and forever.

I haven't seen the 2nd film, but the first film is only around 30 minutes. It's fun, but you aren't missing much by not watching it.

I think people are focusing too much on visual similarities. A lot of character "types" in Shonen are extremely similar to their Dragon Ball counter parts. I sometimes will watch a new anime for a few minutes and immediately note: "Ok. There's their Goku. Oh, that's the "Vegeta" character, ok. That's the Krillin, etc. However, a lot of these archetypes ("the badass with the heart of gold who always wants to train") are historically common in Japanese fiction. So, it's really hard to say what's ripping off what. Toriyama gave the entire mythology his unique twist with his own type of humour and storytelling techniques. I'm sure they've existed in Anime before. But, for some reason when I visit Japan (which is very infrequent), you get the sense that Dragon Ball is like "Star Wars" to them. Even though, in North America, Star Wars (A New Hope) was not the first movie to ever portray these types of characters, I suppose it was the first one that our society has decided to collectively remember (and fall in love with) as "the first". Thus, why it's known as the "Grandfather of Shonen". A lot of what Toriyama did was very special though. Goku, for example, evolved into a very unique character that I have rarely seen replicated since. Especially as an adult. Luffy is very similar to him. I'd think too similar at times.

Yeah, this tbh. 2nd film is more of your classic feature film for an anime, with a longer running time and some better animation

Dragon Ball has always had an influence on subsequent shonen titles, so yeah I agree. Luffy though really isn't like Goku. Yusuke, Gon and Toriko all share more similarities with Goku than Luffy

TheGmGoken wrote:of DBz? I see this a lot. Mostly on Youtube and I'm pretty damn sure they're not anime fans. Seriously a lot of DBZ Youtube fanbase fans are very ignorant and most of them are not even anime fans making them seem more ignorant. I was watching Kaze No Stigma with my homie. He's not an anime fan of course and he said the fire attacks and the flying is a rip off of DBZ. It pisses me off greatly sometimes. He even said Ren was a bootleg SSJ because his fire aura is more Gold and he has yellow hair and "Green" eyes. On YouTube I've seen people say One Piece - Dbz with Pirates, Bleach - Dbz with swords, and Naruto - DBz with ninjas. Okay obviously he could have said differ anime because besides some characters and attacls being inspired these aren't really rip offs. When I showed a lot of Youtube users Gurren Laggan(piss me off the most because it's my favorite anime) they said it's a rip off of DBZ because they fight in space. Like seriously. What in the hell. I know DBZ is legendary and many manga-anime series get some inspirations from it but to say every anime is a rip off is just ignorant. It also ruins DBZ's fanbase and make fans seem bad.
One Piece isnt really in DBZ territory when it comes to fights, it has been handled well with Whitebeard, Shanks, Admirals, etc.

On the other hand.
Naruto: Its DBZlite if u check the manga, with Kishimoto drawing explosions ala Michael Bay...

Bleach: Also DBZlite since the Arrancar Saga, look at Ichigo spamming Getsuga Tenchou and fighting reckless, also the Captains Bankais and the Espadas abilities, and the last fight vs Aizen, which is pretty much SSJ2 Gohan vs Cell.....

 though i dislike when they spam bijudamas and the battlefield becomes a complete clusterfck. What I'm liking so far in the latest chapters its the way Tobirama has been portrayed, creating techniques, and using strategies(being the adult version of Shikamaru).
