Yeah, that was waaaayback in 2001. Actually, I think it was even on the DBZ site!

The horrors!
Ehh, Jackie Chan wouldn't make for a bad Goku if it weren't for his age. Actually, I think there was mention of him possibly playing Roshi... somewhere in the mess... o_O
Art, etc. links taken down for now. Will be updated at some point. I dunno.

It was actually a fan poll, and the folks who visited the website apparently voted Mr. Chan as their favorite to play Vegeta.

This is why fans shouldn't make casting decisions.

I've never seen Jackie Chan in a Vegeta-like role... it might be interesting to see how he would do.

Hmm...

Ray Park as Vegeta.

Either Jeremy Irons or Ralph Fiennes as Freeza.

That's all I got...

Ooh, that sounds interesting. o3o

Yeah... Jeremy Irons as Freeza and Tatsuya Isaka as Goku, singing about their epic five-minute battle.

Maybe this was asked before, but what's the status on this "movie"? I thought Herbert proved it to be a false rumor years ago.

Well. the "status" is that it's in thought... lol.

The only confirmation that Fox even has rights to it is the fact that they own this website.

There's no cast, or directors, or producers or anything hired, as far as anyone knows.

Good, then there's hope for my audition yet!

Back when that poll was running I wanted to see Jackie Chan as Goku and Jet Li as Vegeta. Fans apparently think otherwise. I don't see it, though.

Nowadays I'd rather see Chan as Muten Roshi. With the whole Jackie Chun thing it would be really cool.

I'd hate to think of how hard they could screw up with the CGI on characters like Oolong. LOL they could really, really ruin the whole series just like that.

It wouldn't ruin the series, it would just make the movie look stupid. It doesn't matter if the movie is a huge flop or a huge success, I doubt it will do much damage to te series anyways, the only thing the movie can do in my opinion is attract more fans, maybe revive the series a little if it's a success and if it's not, I doubt anything will change.

To be honest I think FOX could do a fairly good job with the movie, so long as they put someone respectful of the series in charge like they did with Sam Raimi on Spider-Man. If it's just Joe Schmo Hollywood Producer whose sole purpose is to maximize revenue, then there's something to worry about.

Respectful, talented, and aware. Fortunately such people exist... *points to daizex*. But will they find them? ... I... can hope... but that's all...

I want to see a trailer of the live action movie. Granted, there is no footage, but there is always text, music, and audio from the series. I think that's enough to make it convincing. A teaser that is, not a theatrical trailer.
