Well, that, and Sarah Gellar is like three feet tall*. Even Michelle Trachtenberg outgrew her as she got older.
*Actually, she's 5'3", which is my own shrimpy height. ;_;

Yeah, and he's way too short (and thin) for Piccolo, as well. Don't get me wrong, it'll probably be interesting, but the idea that they'd cast James Marsters as Piccolo just completely blindsided me.

And in Lord of the Rings, Gimli was played by an actor who is over 6 feet tall.
Yes... I don't know why people are focuses on the little aspects. The physical features can be fixed/altered on-screen. Acting ability cannot. If you/we/us/anybody is to have any hope the movie turns out good, the acting must be put forth first. Story is basically already locked (we hope?).

I'm not sure where the idea first came from, but this and variations of this went around and around for years. Didn't FUNimation run a poll where Goku was fan-selected as Jet li and Vegeta as Jackie Chan?
To show my appreciation, I'll only beat them half to death.

Jet Li can star as the mannequin a clothing store that is destroyed in West City.
That's well within his acting range.

Hmm, I can't really remember, but I was just looking around my room and I actually own the magazine that it's in. I can't believe I bought this back then...(though I knew when there were mistakes/misinformation anyway.)

The guy who's playing Piccolo looks really good for the job.
The guy who's playing Goku looks like a douche.
Anyway... I was never a huge fan of DragonBall, and honestly I was more looking forward to a DragonBall Z movie... I want to see Vegeta on the big screen.
If challenge had a taste, you'd be quite delicious.

What, like this?
Goku-Robin Shou or Jackie Chan
Vegeta-Jet li
Krillin-Verne Troyer or Danny Devito
Android 18-Cameron Diaz
Cell-The Rock
Master Roshi-Danna Carvy
Piccolo-Wesley Snipes or Vin Diesel
Trunks-Leonardo Dicaprio
Chi Chi-Elizabeth Hurley
Gohan-Keanu Reeves
Those were real winners.
I especially love how Keanu is the son of Robin (4 yrs older) and Elizabeth (1 yr younger). Or leo Dicaprio as Jet Li's kid. And if Jackie Chan played anyone in this, it should be Muten goddamnit!
Alright, so those are worse than I remember. But say what you will about that list, Devito would make a hilarious and infinitly badass Kuririn. And the world is not worthy of Wesley Snipes as Piccolo. "Some motherfuckers are always trying to ice-skate uphill."

No... Snipes should play Ma Junior.
Samuel L. Jackson should play Daimao

*insert obligatory Snakes on A Plane joke*
Now I'll be sitting in the movie theater, watching all the fight scenes and wondering how much better they would be with Sam Jackson.

Then obviously, you haven't seen him in "Hero" and "Fearless".
Heck, from the looks of the trailer for his new movie "The Warlords", his acting looked like it improved a lot. Speaking of which, I can't wait to see "The Warlords" in theatres. Gonna try to book tickets on Dec 13th. Will be in Hong Kong by then.
The world is your's.

His English acting skills are slightly better than a mannequin

You guys seem to be forgetting this is an American adaptation, I doubt they will have asian actors...

I'm in the generation of fans that started with Toonami, so I totally empathize with the feeling of having "missed the party", experiencing disappointment, and wanting to experience it myself. But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

Well shit, if they're seriously considering James Kyson Lee to play Yamcha, then they should totally get Masi Oka to play Goku.
... Or Pu'ar.
To show my appreciation, I'll only beat them half to death.

Of course. There's never ever been an American movie with Asian actors in it, and there's obviously no such thing as Asian Americans.
...But seriously, what? Do you think the US is 100% Caucasians of European descent or something? Besides which, as has been pointed out, we already have a producer from Hong Kong, a Chinese-American director, and a Korean-American actor who has at least auditioned for a major role.

I wouldn't be surprised if they cast Yamcha, Grandpa Gohan, and ChiChi as 'asian' actors so that it's more obvious Goku sticks out as DIFFERENT. Besides he sort of has a Goku-type face to me. The small nose and mouth and the big eyes, it does make me think of Goku's face.

Well... Sure, but I
think JAPPO's point is just that Hollywood tends to go with Caucasian actors whenever possible. "Who could possibly identify with an Asian lead? Apart from minorities, that is?"
Sad but true, don't you think? ^^;

?
No way. They have similarities, but he hasn't got the Goku aura. There are lots of stuff that makes him different. He has, as an example, too small eyes. Plus he looks like a junkie.
