I've just updated my blog with my review of the trailer. Click here to read it.

Anyway, it has both positive and negative aspects. I'm still more on the negative side though... For the pro-movie fans out there, don't worry, it will get my money because I will check it out in theaters, whether good or bad.

Nope. He does.

My thoughts on the full trailer is. From the looks of it, Piccolo will definitely be the highlight of the Movie. He's green and I have a good feeling from this that they'll have him portrayed properly (or at least close to). So at least I won't be in complete sadness while watching. Though I'd trade a proper Goku for a proper Piccolo any day of the year. My stance is still pretty much the same. "It's gonna suck"...But still I have to give credit where credit's due and say at least Piccolo looks like he'll be right.

But on the down side, I hope the Kamehameha is not fired One-Handed. Based on the trailer they have the Chatwin "HAAAA" while showing a 1 handed blast. Yes I realize that pone of the most classic Kamehameha scenes in all of DB was done one-handed. But that doesn't mean it should be portrayed that way always.

I sincerely doubt that shot WAS the Kamehameha. The one Goku was charging up there was shaping up to be huge. The one they showed him firing was a smaller, simple, one-handed shot, and I'm pretty sure the background was different, too.

Most of your complaints are "It's not like the anime." I would personally try to review the movie as a standalone movie... just like the anime movies. Only better. :)

Ebert and Roper are going to review it as just a movie. We will stick with comparing it to what it's supposed to be based off of. Keep in mind the Anime movies keep the characters in character for the most part.

Yes well, these are all my personal complaints. I for one won't view this as a separate thing, I don't think I'm able to. The reason that I will be watching this in theaters is simply because I'm a fan of the anime and manga. If I'd wanted to watch some random movie, I'd view one I'd definitely like.

Everyone views this movie differently, maybe you view it as a movie on it's own but I view it as a strange new object in the Dragonball universe.

Looks like it's straight out of the sci-fi channel.

The eclipse? Huh?

I didn't see enough DB in it to warrant a watch.

Yeah, I remember people saying the "I'm not ready for this line" was just out of context... but now it's apparent they really changed Goku's character. So.... wouldn't surprise me if it WAS a one-handed Kamehameha.

But that doesn't necessarily mean it's bad. I mean Goku did fire off a kamehameha with his feet before.

But for the first DB movie it should be classic kamehameha. And I sincerely hope they don't portray Goku as unable to perform the KameHameHa for like half the movie and then at the very end he suddenly can do it at the very last second to save the day! Ya know, like what I'm expecting them to do. If anything I'd like to see a funny moment where Roshi performs it and tells him it'll take years of practice and training to learn it and then Goku just does it and... well I think even non-DB fans would enjoy a little moment like that. Come on!

I'm choking on the irony of G4 calling accusing anything of being an epic failure.
I completely respect your opinion, and I respect you. I enjoyed discussing this with you, even if I don't completely agree.

If we're all here for a reason then I'm just visiting.

If it's held in your heart then you can't let go.

Some old bullshit you would expect from G4. Some of the comments were just disgusting...same goes for YouTube.

"Supposed to, supposed to, supposed to..."

"Supposed." I'm starting to get sick of that word.

Precisely. Those fun little referential moments are what I really like to see in these kinds of movies. I'm sure everyone will get a kick out of them.

But what gets me is that they're still whining after all of this work has been done on the movie. I mean, the final product is just about done and those whiny fans can't do anything about it. It's not like they can change anything.

I don't really think it's cool to try and sound like all high and mighty by making fun of those who are making fun of the movie.

A lot of their arguments are valid and if they want to express their displeasure with this then fine by me. It obviously isn't going to be a great movie, I'd be very surprised if it was. But it's got enough going against it in my opinion to warrant a "not so excited" feeling.

Naysayers have just as much say as uhhh... yeaysayers?

Nobody expected the movie to be a dead-on portrayal of the manga or anime but enough about it is different that it has (or seems to have) lost that "Dragon Ball" feeling, mainly through changes in the characters.

I still can't believe there isn't a Krillin in it. Even if they portrayed him in a way where he had hair or whatever would be better than writing out Goku's best friend.

Yes! Darn those whiny bitches and their pesky opinions! I can't believe they didn't ask you what you've already heard before blogging! And to think, they don't like the "best trailer evar"!
/endsarcasm

Your complete inability to endure any point of view that isn't your own is truly disgusting.

I don't think "this is gay" is a point of view.

They may cut that line from the movie if people are bitching enough. I mean Piccolo is green; I get the feeling that's done afterwards in CG rather than the costume.

I just hope the "Oozaru" isn't in it.
