Aw, crap... I was waiting to hear about who got the part. I didn't even see that. Oh well, guess my debut's saved for another day. But congrats, omegacwa. Have fun with it.
In the meantime I feel like I shouldn't have left you guys hanging with the FTP stuff, so I'll contribute to that once I find a good Windows-based server. May take a few days to research/set it all up but don't feel like you "need to find one" because I have plenty of space. I just need to know
when the traffic's gonna be, because I share my main connection with four other people and I can't have it bogged down for too long at a time.
And of course my editing/DVD services are always still on the table, so just let me know what you need and I'd be happy to "stay with" the project.

Yes, and thank you for being a good sport.
In terms of an FTP server, Kino linked me to
Serv-U, here, a free and seemingly good FTP management program that I've been fiddling around with.

By the way, I
have been working quite hard on the movie, but it's getting increasingly difficult to find the right music...

Yeah, so... as I was saying, help in finding music with the right emotion would be greatly appreciated. I just can't find the right piece for Shenron's big entrance.
o.O
Anyways, I've got a pretty damn good suggestion, and a question that I'm sure would have been asked sooner or later. Why not use the Japanese bgm? I mean, Kaboom has noted that the movie will have a piece or two of Shunsuke Kikuchi's score, so why not use it for Shenlong? It's pretty damn awesome anyways. 'Anyways, Steven, you know WHAT music you're using for the scenes and stuff? Makes things easier.
In the meantime, I'll be (really) finishing the final script, pestering Shinpan about the poster, getting an FTP server or two set up, and trying to make a visual recording guide for the actual movie.
Regarding Cha-La Head Cha-La, if shinpan doesn't contact you about that, I still have the vocals from her YouTube link (Although she's deleted them...long ago. The link I mean). I'm using Goldwave, an editor bit more powerful than Audacity, and hopefully I can try to do some more work with it

Basically, as much as I'm sure Kaboom and all of us involved in making this would love to maintain the original BGM, the honest answer is we can't due to simply not having any access to an international track of the movie. Because of this, we pretty much have to improvise on using our own BGM insertions and sound effects (staying as faithful to the series as we can within reason). As you know, this project is very low budget and stands to make no profit, so editing the Japanese version of the movie to painstakingly get every piece of music we could while keeping the Japanese voices edited out would be very hard work. We're choosing the easier route in the improvising and coming up with our own music, while making sure to use a few pieces of Shunsuke Kikuchi's score combined with our own insertions from other sources. In the end, even our fandub can't be perfect.

Just want to say that I have some time this week (and weekend). So, if the trailer script for Kaio and Amond is ready, you can send me an e-mail with this. ^^

Erm, why not just take the music from the japanese CDs? I'm sure SOMEONE should be able to provide the necessary music from there...

I'm sorry Conan, but I already knew the reasons for the movie not having the BGM 100%. Hell, I'm for new stuff =D
I'm saying, if we're gonna use a couple of Japanese pieces, why not use them in [this scene]? or [that scene?]
And yeah, like Vegard Aune said, you can get the movie scores off the Japanese CDs (The 5-disc BGM set probably has some of it, and the movie collection too)

Umm... ya, what Conan said. We don't have an international track, and so we kinda took the path of being a little more creative with the music than just using the Japanese bgm. But... it looks like we might try it at a few certain parts anyway, at this rate...

That was what I originally thought during the early planning stages, cause I know a bunch of people have the bgm CDs.
So... let's try this out. What was the name of Shenlong's song when he was summoned in the movie? Is it on a CD? Does anyone have the CD and would rip the song for us?

Yeah I was gonna say..I'm not gonna mention how but I'm sure I can get some BGM music from the show (Original). Thing is, as you know there's A LOT of good ones we could actually use. Now, would we want to use the same ones used in the original or would we be improving like Conan said?

You can call me Rick because I'm not actually Piccolo.
I missed out on all of the DB Movie fun, huh?
Point blank: it's gonna suck if you want it to. Personally, I'm seeing it as a comedy.

I will try my best to get the lines done, but I just recently got a cold, so my voice is a bit scratchy. If I don't feel the work is up to par, it might have to wait a few more days if that is ok?

Everyone else I've PMed about their needed recording seems to be taking their time, why not.

File Transfer Protocol. It's a way to upload things onto servers so websites can run 'em. Like this forum. The files to run it are probably on an FTP server.
Basically, think of it as a storage bin =P

It's on the 5-Disc Daizenshuu set (Track 9,
Super Deciding Battle for the Entire Planet Earth). I can rip it if you like, but it'll take some time.

Yes, thank you. Once you do, please send it to Steven Perry, the poor desperate lad.

I should have my lines done and sent by tomorrow(for the trailer), random scheduling conflicts has delayed it a bit, plus I had a cold which made my voice sound really strange.

Semi-update on work of the trailer (posting on the actual
trailer info thread would be necro by now and this one seems more popular anyway);
omegacwa has emailed me his lines for Goku and I've implemented them into my original editing-master file of the trailer (a master file where all the clips are still separate and the music and subtitles are nowhere to be seen). Ironically, being the last member of our fandub to be cast,
omegacwa is the first (and as of this writing, only) person I've PMed for lines to send me 'em. I'm not trying to sound impatient, but let's try and get a move on this you guys, email your stuff on over! The faster we get this trailer done, the faster we can start real work on edging our names into a fandub movie of DBZ! I've tried my best not to rush any of you, but it has been a while since I sent those PMs, and they're so few lines for you all to record (I believe Kuririn's VA only has one "Hyaa!" >>). One last thing, just so you all know, there will be no more demos; I pumped out two previews, and that's it. What you'll all see next will be the final project (I'm still taking suggestions for a different 4 minute length instrumental, so if any of you have an idea for a good replacement of "Requiem for a Dream", send me a PM).
