Can you show me a vid of his work?
Here's his scene from the android saga
Thats actually pretty good, can you show me another one?

Aww man we need that kind of awesome background animation in Super at least for the important episodes!

Do you guys have some comparisons between Yamamuro's old artworks and his new ones?

Ajay did a great post analysing Yamamuro character designs from the 90s to now.

Long story short: he's regressed as an artist. A lot.

Someone already posted comparisons by Mr Ajay but here's some more.

As for the overall animation quality changes Mr Ajay has already made an articulate video about it.

It's a god damn shame that he worked exclusively under Uchiyama, though I guess he was one of the main reasons Uchiyama episodes are even watchable.

It is a shame, though I find it hard to knock Uchiyama too much having seen Ohara's uncorrected character art:

Would have been nice to have seen his work corrected by someone better, though. I feel like Uchiyama, although making his work more Dragon Ball-esque, cuts out a lot of the expressiveness.

One of these week animator supervisors will be Manabe right?! I hope he gaves us somsething cool. Maybe Higashide will pop up again too.
I'm also curious to see what they will do with the filter, because I disliked what I saw in the NEP.

And as a Gohan fan I have to worry about his battle too. Too many things to worry about this week.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Favourite old DB Animators: Masaki Sato and Tadayoshi Yamamuro
Favourite new DB Animators: Yuya Takahashi and Chikashi Kubota

Let's hope that by April the manga will be in the tournament of might.

Also some slow episodes like 17's back story could do wonders to the schedule. I predict that 2017 will be the year that the anime will finally have a steady schedule.

Can't wait for thexample next arc getting scripts and ideas from the manga.
They're not taking a break to help the manga catch up, they're taking a single week off because the Nagoya Women's Marathon is airing that day.
Obviously not, it's not possible to skip a week of broadcast but still this gives extra time

Anyone else love the way how Toriyama draws clouds and smoke? It's very curly and bubbly with pointy ends, I dunno how to describe it properly but it looks pretty cool to me.

This sort of style would also make it easier to do some background animation during flying and fighting scenes It's a shame they never integrated the background aesthetic into the anime kinda like how JoJo did with its backgrounds.

Ohara supervised Dragon Ball episodes 76, 80, and 98, so that's probably the best place to see what his animation looks like without any corrections.

Edit: I just watched episode 98 again for the first time in a long time, and there are quite a few close-ups that somewhat resemble the bottom image in Ajay's example, but they are a lot more polished, and don't stand out nearly as much. Perhaps Z episode 233 (that's where those frames are from, right?) was a particularly rushed episode. It was one of the worst looking Last House episodes, at least, if I remember correctly.

Also, on a side note, while watching episode 98, I found a pretty nice Shida cut (at 2:15:02 on disc 1 of Season 4 of the Dragon Ball Blue Bricks, in case anyone is curious). It's pretty short, but it resembles the awesome cut he did in the Goku vs. Kuririn fight a few episodes prior. It's nothing too special, but it's nice enough, and since I haven't seen anyone mention that cut I figured I'd mention it here.

Nothing really spectacular in this episode. The art-style was continually on point and the fight itself was very serviceable but it was not as good as what we got last week.

All in all though, a quite good but ultimately conservative episode.

Other than some off shots here and there I really enjoyed it, a lot more than last week even.
That NEP looks... ehhh. Not seeing much Shimanuki in there.
Surprising lack of Tsuji this week.

This one has mostly a bunch of repeated frames. First half was pretty meh though, Gohan looked weird sometimes in that half too.
