Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection 'F'"

I have a guess they started F this year instead of next because they don't know when Nozawa will be ready to retire.

If that's the case then hopefully we'll get the 3rd movie in 2017 which I think could be the last we get in the 10 years between Buu and the final Tenkaichi.

Year 2 : Yo son Goku and his friends return
year 4 : Battle of gods
year 7 : Revival of F
Year 8or9 : 3rd movie
Year 10 : Final Tenkaichi

It will be interesting to see what they do in the 3rd movie and if they'll do anything set after the final Tenkaichi.

How about 11 others universes?

I think I already said this but I will be disappointed if the fact that Trunks was the one who killed Freeza isn't brought up; we NEED those Freeza-young Trunks interactions!

Not necessarily stronger, but perhaps. I think you can put any of those 3 in any order of strength, I don't think its clear-cut that's why I have the whole 1/2/3 thing going on

I would love to see what one or more of the other universes look like and that's what we all expected him to do in the 2nd movie but instead he's doing Frieza so there's no telling what he'll do next.

I don't think he'll go in depth with the 11 universes, wasn't there that one interview where he keeps things open-ended or something like that? I do think we'll see what the other Gods of Destruction look like though, maybe a quick tour of the universes. Not necessarily in the movie, but maybe in some random Q&A

I could personally see a movie possible in which we could see the other universes or people from other universes... but only in a case when there's big trouble which can not be handled be our Gods from Universe 7.

Assuming that this takes place 3 years after BoG, Bulma should have gave birth to Bra 2 years ago.

As for Super Saiyan God, I think Vegeta is already one, and has already made the power his own like Goku did. They seem to be students of Whis now, so I think that Whis would make Vegeta a God first before training him so that he can be on Goku's level. If he is at the level he was in BoG, he would be a weakling, and would just get in their way.

That Videl scene was beautiful. Becomes even more when I know this is a shounen and things like that barely happens on screen.
BOG was giving the middle finger to shounen tropes during all movie.

I don't really agree that it subverts any shonen tropes. If anything, the ritual is quite literally the embodiment of everything shonen. Succeeding with the help of your best buds!

For me, the subversion comes from Goku's loss and the total anticlimax of the Super Saiyan God form. That kinda thing is so anti-Dragon Ball and definitely what I want to see more of.

Reminds me of Hunter x Hunter's deal of building up huge rivalries and power-ups and then having someone else deal with them entirely.

I don't trust them enough to not screw up the timeline. And while I do think that the Videl scene was great in BoG, I am not here for a repeat of the same scene.

I just hope it's Bulma doing kickass things like blowing up some aliens or controlling a super powerful robot.

I'm not sure what sense would make for Vegeta to become a God before the movie... Vegeta knows very well the features of this artificial Saiyan Godhood... It gives a huge power like never before, but also has time-limit... In BOG Vegeta ordered Goku to help him next time to become a God. What sense would make if Vegeta became a God when there is no need? After the BOG they were at peace, so no danger... I would better think Whis found a way to grant Vegeta a permanent God Ki, or simply accepted him to be pupil of him as is. I don't think Toriyama would make two people the same special, so Vegeta won't be able to make the God Ki his own after a ritual.(In my opinion).

I wasn't talking about the ritual itself. But just the scene of Videl saying she's pregnant and everyone getting happy for her and Gohan. These scenes barely happen on screen.
Usually there's a timeskip and the couple already have kids, the next time we see them.

Good job on mentioning HunterxHunter. When I talk about giving the middle finger to shounen tropes, HxH always comes to mind.
Togashi does that even more than Toriyama. Chimera ant arc is the perfect example.
Gon was like a Kid Goku until that arc making his character unique.
