Yeah, the Kaioshin are just Nakatsuru's designs with different shading and colouring applied:

Majin Boo's design is also reused from Z.

Wish they'd do that with more characters.

Speaking of, does anyone have the character designs for Goku from the end of Z and/or his adult design from GT?

I guess it's a good and bad thing they reuse character designs from Z haha.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

A little bit of pretty poor art, mostly solid though with a tiny bit of really nice stuff. Shimanuki was a bit rough here.
Animation quality was a clear step down from the last two weeks, but the direction and impacts were good enough that it was still enjoyable to watch. Looked like we got Yashima in this episode again, has he just shifted to Key Animator now?
I don't recognize the style in the NEP. Legit worried that Karasawa is gone now.

Ok that was the weakest one yet from the fights. However, that shimanuki debree scene reminded me of the old days.

The beginning cut was epic as hell and gave me life. This episode was kind of a mixed bag, yet still better than every episode in the champa arc besides for maybe 39 and 38.

Episode 81

Animation supervisor
Joey Calangian Noel Ano-nuevo Shimanuki Masahiro

Key animator
Higashide Futoshi Yashima Yoshitaka Kitano Yukihiro Nagaki Tatsuhiro Shimanuki Masahiro Kato Yoshitaka Tomita Erisa Tomiki Yumiko TAP

2nd key animator
Ide Takeo Yokoyama Miyuki Tu Yeong-chaek Sato Tomoko A-Line

-

That definitely hurt a little after two solid weeks, but it certainly wasn't as bad as I had prepared myself for. Shimanuki definitely had his work cut out for him, and as a result there are just so many Ide corrections. I guess that's what happens when you have a TAP episode.

Shimanuki actually produced some pretty solid animation, though some of the best bits were clearly just Higashide. That man is just a monster; it's scary. Hate seeing supervisors popping up on other people's episodes, but it is what it is.

Next episode looks to be Hiroyuki Itai. I'm also very worried that Karasawa may be gone.

A decent looking episode. The last few minutes in the second half looked a little funky, but nothing majorly distracting. The beam clash between SSJBKK Goku and Giant-sized Bergamo looked really nice.

Much smaller staff size for this one, Noel Ano-Nuevo shows up again and we see another TAP Supervisor, interesting.
After these past couple weeks I get the feeling that Yashima has shifted his role to just key animator.
Kitano showing up in that list sucks, hope his next episode isn't for a while then.

While true, it's worth noting that having TAP supervisors generally means they had a significant impact on the episode, despite none of the key animators themselves being credited individually. In all likelihood, the list is much bigger than what we see here.

Kinda depressing seeing what it's taking to get this stuff done, but at least it's still far above the last tournament! That's all I keep telling myself to stay positive.

Stop using plain red glows, it's so ugly and it looks stupid. Thanks :D

I believe the last 2 seconds of the preview are Karasawa. The shot with the black eye of Goku turning blue, and then the reaction shot of Topo. Could anyone tell me if i'm dreaming or am i really seeing Karasawa here?

From this to 47 seconds is rock solid.

Mmmmm it was.....ok.
Toei sure knows how to arrange the employees.....Unless they went as plain as possible to make the next one look good then I have no clue why Goku got the worse out of 3 looking battles....The first half looked so promising but the second one was....meh.
I liked the blue transformation that looked like something out of FNF. Let's wait for the HD version and see if the episode will look better in higher definition.

I was more impressed hearing the new characters talk and listening to new VAs than the fight

At least the art between episodes feel more consistent than other arcs

My man Kitano did his tricks again.

Exactly. These 3 episodes have had some really incredible action scenes that really reminded me of Z battles. It's also a really huge improvement than what we started off with in the beginning of the series, and I know that it's just gonna keep on getting better. Also, Super has a week off next week, so I guess that will help as well.

Now I'm really worried, Karasawa seems to be gone and they are using other supervisors as animators and they seem to be doing a lot of scenes in this episode.
Some scenes did look great but there were more bad frames than last week.

They are! Though it's very weird seeing Higashide's animation corrected by Shimanuki. I'm not used to seeing his character art move so nicely.

Holy hell, that's Higashide? What did we do to deserve this guy!

We watched Dragon Ball Super for four arcs and counting.
