Super Saiyan 2 Gohan's picture below is nice to see how all (or at least most) curves have been smoothed with extra polygons all over to really avoid the angular effect (watch the ear, the fingers, the wristband, the muscles all along the arm, the shoulder...
(for a bigger view, you can right-click and open the picture in a new tab).

This makes one of the most beautiful and faithful DB game even closer to the art of the original material(s).

However, the cost of that beautiful upgrade is one specific shot of a Dramatic Finish: it seems the facial animation was not applied to (or failed to work with) the new model, Gohan not smiling anymore when he has beaten Cell and having a weird, barely opened mouth while sounding like he's gasping for air. You can even see the "smile wrinkles" still in place around the nose and meant to surround the mouth where it's supposed to be when he smiles. As far as I know, this is the only graphical accident of the new models and it might be updated later to fix the issue.
Good call! You've got sharp eyes, my friend. Thanks for sharing.

I recently bought the Xbox version, got the upgrade and I still can't believe how unbelievable pretty this game is. I don't play competitively and still enjoy sharpening my skills against the CPU, but even if you just use auto-combos and such, the game's still fun to play. The roster's great as well and I'm currently learning to play as characters I didn't play before, such as Tenshinhan.
Every character has so much love put into it.

I'm hoping for a sequel but for now this game is still fun to play for a bit every day. (I love the Tournament of Power mode for a few quick rounds)

We are aware that players are encountering issues with the rollback netcode function in #DBFZ.

The team is currently working to address these problems within April.

We will provide updates once we have a confirmed release date.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

One bug I notice with the series X version is how the start buttion doesnt' work during local vs matches. There is a work wound by pressing the home button.

Today's patch has corrected Gohan's Dramatic Finish against Cell: now he has his intended smile when exhausted on the ground at the end!

Now you have access to the most amazing and flawless versions of the Dramatic Finishes from A to Z with the new next-gen models and their rounded shapes!

Sorry for the random question but how are the ps5 servers, I'm debating whether I should do the upgrade or not. I haven't played the game in a while and I'm thinking of playing again from time to time.

This game never got crossplay, right?!

They could be leaving that for the sequel, but I'm not seeing one come in the next years so It's a bad move from them. After Sparking Zero, we will probably get Xenoverse 3 and then who knows.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

something is really wrong with how bandai handle this game. this game is 6 years old. there is no reason to sell 3 seperate season passes with each of them costing more then 20 dollars. or selling each character sepretly. the game have a poor roster at base and if bandai want to attract more players they need to start going on sales. otherwise the game will die and eventually the servers will not be active as well because of that. i own the game but i never actually played it more then 1 hour maximum because i'm dissapointed with the poor base roster and dont want to spend so much money on season passes. they should sell 1 season pass with everything included

This is actually quite common with Japanese games and fighters in particular. Street Fighter 5 was hell on earth with DLCs.
I do also look back fondly on era with GOTY editions, but everything is digital right now and can be updated forever.
I'd suggest waiting for some discounts.

The base roster was actually fun on the launch as the characters like Hit and Black were quite fresh back in the day and it had great ballance of Z/Super in it. We've already discussed that this game is basically a Super game with callbacks to Z and series in general.
Waiting for some of the added characters was exciting and tedious at the same time (waiting for months for one character, some missed opportunities) and yeah, the game is more fun with them.
I agree that with all the updates that change the game in a way that it is basically a different one than the vanilla version and doesn't make sense to play it without the full basic and DLC roster.

Just announced as a main game at EVO France!
I assume it's probably to reward the French community who kept with the game since the start. I doubt it means any more content.

I keep playing it from time to time. It still looks and plays amazing. I have to say it even looks better than the new Sparking game, due to all the details the FighterZ characters have.
