The Raging Blast games were referred as Dragon Ball and they didn't have actual Dragon Ball or Dragon Ball GT characters, maybe this one will do because it's being developed by Dimps and they think more about the Dragon Ball universe than just Z like Spike would in their recent RB games. Ultimate Blast had a few GT characters but hardly anything worth mentioning.cesarcoronel07 wrote:I'm curious to know why the "Z" wasn't included in the title... I'm with you, I also think Dimps will include GT and Dragon Ball characters because they seem to care for Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball GT not just "Z", you could see that in DB Heroes.Anyway, if Dimps doesn't include GT and Dragon Ball on this game then for sure in the sequel. Speaking of Ultimate Blast, that was quite dumb for Spike to only include Omega Shenron and SSJ4 Gogeta. It doesn't make sense to include SSJ4 Gogeta and not SSJ4 Goku and Vegeta SSJ4.dbboxkaifan wrote:The Raging Blast games were referred as Dragon Ball and they didn't have actual Dragon Ball or Dragon Ball GT characters, maybe this one will do because it's being developed by Dimps and they think more about the Dragon Ball universe than just Z like Spike would in their recent RB games. Also, it has the seal of quality by Dimps so it's definitely going to be a success, imo.TheAldella wrote:It has so much hype already and it's still in Alpha; how could it Not?cesarcoronel07 wrote:and that's IF this game does well...
What's one of the most popular platform franchises aside from Mario? Sonic. And who developed Sonic Rush, Sonic Gens 3DS and Sonic Lost World 3DS? All Dimps, an' all great!
Plus, which is one of the most played fighting games that are as well in tournaments? Street Fighter IV.
Just put Dimps' brand and it's guaranteed not only to be profitable but also high quality games.

Yeah 'cause Yajirobe, Mr. Satan, Fake Namekians and etc are such interesting fighters to play as...dbboxkaifan wrote:kbrooksgohan wrote:@DarkPrince2
Yo buddy. Honestly...I'm not ok with that then. We've had so many dbz games already. It's time to step it up. If your going to do Saiyan to Buu have all the characters. Budokai 3 had so many holes.
....
So did I post a character list and I didn't know it?
Budokai 3 had a good roster but most were movie characters and they technically didn't even add that many new characters. They left out most of the Ginyu Force,Zarbon,Dodoria,19 etc. They are major characters who actually had fights and had plenty of material to turn into combos. Never did I say add Yajirobe. Hercule? Heck yeah. He's been in previous Dimps titles and he's actually pretty fun to play. Nail? He didn't do a lot but he has attacks and he actually is pretty important to the series. If it wasn't for him Piccolo would not have gained his power-boost. But even with that he still would give us more Namekian choices than just Piccolo.
Ginyu Force? Yes actually they are pretty INTERESTING to play as. Guldo can stop time. Burter is extremely fast and that would be some new to the Dimps series. Jeice is introduces Team Gameplay and he does have his own moves.
The Budokai 3 roster wasn't bad but you can't do a DBZ game and completely skip certain parts of the sagas. There was literally no reason to note include 19 or other characters from the first budokai. 8 new character's won't hurt them. If your going to adapt the series do it right imo.

In your opinion, of course.Drev wrote:...but burst limit wasn't even good
The game for me was great (still is the best of last-gen for DBZ home console games) and had Kai not been uncancelled then it could've been its game due to how everything was put together, as well as the score was composed by Kenji Yamamoto.
Slight correction, last-gen.Luso Saiyan wrote:Erm... yes, it was. The best of this gen.

DIMPS is back?
I am so fucking hyped right now. Choo-choo!
Surprised to see they're making a 3D game. Since it's their first game in that style, that might be problematic. Hopefully they're able to do well though!

I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

See I'm not worried about the hand to hand combat from Dimps since that's not what made Burst Limit a failure in the long run. Solid fast paced fighting aside Burst Limit failed in every other department namely the content one.SingleFringe&Sparks wrote:The nails in this franchise came from years of Spike's shitty, seemingly underdelivering combat system which they never understood how to refine: not lack of content, (at least with Raging Blast) the playability of these games were made worse over the years of Raging Blast's unsatisfactory sluggish 2-steps back style of a lackluster improvement rate. If Dimps is going to win anybody back it has to be through gameplay, not roster. Gameplay has to be the most responsive, fluid and mobility, freedom and structured combat options are what is required to even make these games playable again. Roster is nothing important early in.goku the krump dancer wrote:Baby steps? Dimps has been there and done that with Dragon Ball, so I see no reason for them to pull any punches just cause they're widening the arena (among other things). These are crucial times for DB games so if they wanna win fans back they better go as hard as they. I'm not asking for 1000 characters (65 tops should be reasonable), but it's a blessing that the game comes out next year hopefully the March-ish/April range, it gives them time to make the game fun to play, nice to look at and fan service (costumes, planet explosions etc) for fans to drool over.
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

But if they had focused more on content, valuable time and money would have been spent on just shoving in more nonsense instead of making the game functional. Ultimately, we would have had more characters and stories, but all of that would have been rendered pointless due to the gameplay being clunky and unfinished. Dimps made the right choice on prioritizing what mattered most in what little time they had. The only real failures are the poor ideas implemented(such as those drama pieces or those unnecessary falling animations after a battle in the sky ended). That, and the unfortunate lack of a sequel to build off of what was established in the first one.goku the krump dancer wrote:See I'm not worried about the hand to hand combat from Dimps since that's not what made Burst Limit a failure in the long run. I like Burst Limit but I don't think it even succeeded in creating complex, in-depth gameplay. Once you've mastered one character, you've mastered them all. They all play essentially the same.goku the krump dancer wrote:

If they want me to get over the fact it's that over the shoulder garbage again, the game needs to at least have some longevity to it. I don't want to spend a few days on one character only to find I can now play all of them perfectly. That was my biggest let down in Burst Limit.
You're right about the content though. There's only so much of the same roster and stages I can take before I'm bored. At least a roster that lives up to Budokai 3 or I'm not interested.
I don't want to run through Z's story only to find I've done everything the game has to offer. Considering the title of the game, that's probably not a concern.

Exactly why I find the BT series to be overrated.Once you've mastered one character, you've mastered them all. They all play essentially the same.

The controls are supposed to be pretty accessible in this new game with all the characters having the same control schemes (like the most Dragon Ball fighters). So, while there will probably be some variance in pacing as well as strengths and weaknesses of the characters, it's not gonna play like Street Fighter II where there's one set of characters that control one way and another set that controls another way.KentalSSJ6 wrote:Exactly why I find the BT series to be overrated.Once you've mastered one character, you've mastered them all.
