You're getting the next episode in a couple seconds anyway, why do you need a preview?
I think that would be obvious...I'm a completest moron. :)

Though I do see your point; it is pretty insignificant when compared to the "remastering" job. It just would've been nice to see them finally.
It would have been nice but for me it really doesn't affect wether or not I would buy it.

1. Completeness' sake.
2. Sometimes they're quite entertaining, since they're narrated in-character by Goku (and occasionally other characters interject).

But I agree it's not a dealbreaker.

I picked up my copy from Best Buy yesterday so I'll toss my $0.02 in here.

I am not happy about the cropping for widescreen, but in the end it's not as bad as I had feared. 90% of the time you don't notice, but occasionally someone's head will get cut off and it's kind of jarring. Annoying, but not a deal breaker.

While the colors are brighter and crisper there is a lot of dirt/grain/hair. Granted I've only watched 4 or 5 episodes, but I was expecting better.

The 5.1 Eng dub with Jpn BGM is wonderful. Personally I prefer the old voice actiors, but I guess it's better to have a conistant voice cast.

All-in-all I'm happy with the set, but the cropping and poor remastering do bother for me. If this set was $90 I'd pass, but for $40 Canadian I can't help but accept it.

OK, what the fuck is your problem?

I am not a racist. I've had this nickname for a long time, and I personally don't see anything racist about "JAPPO."

Of course, this is your opinion. I've never had anyone else say it was racist before. So, maybe you're a racist yourself so you would know names you call people.

I picked up the set at Best Buy for $35. It isn't as ugly to open up and all that as I thought...the packaging is actually rather nice. I'll probably actually watch it this weekend, if I can get my dub-oriented friend to watch the Japanese version.

The guidebook made me lol.

I know, but to be fair he should have PM'd me if he thought I was racist. (I mean, where does that come from? Have I ever said anything racist in my life, let alone this forum?)

I just finished watching the goku vs vegeta fight and I was really impressed. I also checked out some of the dub music during the fight and it wasn't near as bad as the rest of the box set.

I called FUNimation and they said the box could be stuck in customs for up to 4 weeks.

Why can't one single store around here sell the DVD?

Does Wal-Mart sell it?

The packaging wasn't as bad as I was expecting, aside from that however the art needs a helluva lot more work. Also, I didn't expect the discs to be placed in the set like that, great way at saving space though. Overall, I'm not impressed with this set, but the whole thing wasn't as bad as I thought from the beginning.

I don't have bestbuy :(.

I do have Futureshop, which is owned by bestbuy, but their website does not list it.

Hmm, sooner or later Futureshop should have it in stock. They've sold the UUE's from what I remember as they were released.

Not here they didn't. Maybe where you live >.>

I've seen them online, though.

Jappo, BestBuy.ca doesn't have it on their site either but I picked it up yesterday in store. You might want to check your local Future Shop out.

Alright I'll look.

I wonder if there is any way to cancel an order already in customs? lol.

Picked my copy up at Best Buy yesterday and have watched a few of the episodes, and I have to admit I like it. Everyone agrees that the widescreen is a goofy move, but everything else about it I dig. Hell, this is the first time I've been able to buy DBZ in bulk (besides my fansubs I got more than a decade ago) so I can deal with a couple of flaws. The pros out weigh the cons, and as many have pointed out, $30 is GREAT for 39 episodes, considering that I it would have previously cost me $20 for just three or four.

I love Dragonball as much as anyone else, and to be honest I'm just glad to see it's such a culteral zeitgeist that I can walk into a major retail outlet and see it prominently displayed and people getting excited about. Sure, I would love for Funimation to do better, but for what I did get I'm pleased. But I also completely understand how purists are not happy.

However, sometimes I get the impression that the most extreme hardcore fans won't be pleased by anything, but that's standard in any fandom.

Cheers!

Like I've said before, the thing could give them earthshaking orgasms whenever they touched it and they'd still whine about Goku's gi being the wrong shade of orange for one frame.

Ha ha. Quoted for sheer awesomeness and truth.

I pray to God that I never get that obsessed over anything.
