I'm not following...

I wasn't LOLing at the movie posters myself but at least they contained a vague sense of wit.
Dane Cook makes more money than Lewis Black

Because people prefer stupid jokes that don't really need much thought. Dosn't mean Cook is better/worse than Black.
(Black is better.)

Oh I know, I really don't like either of them. I was just using it as an example to say the same thing you did in the section I emboldened.
@Kaiser, the way "douche bag" was said is
precisely the reason why I found it so hilarious. Also, I'm not knocking your posters, I just didn't think they were as funny as everyone else did.

...are we thinking of the same Lewis Black? The guy who always yells at the audience, whose routines are more long rants and complaints than actual humor? Because if I wanted to see a bunch of angry old guys, I'd go to a nursing home.

Yeah I agree with this assessment. I don't like Dane Cook either.

Re-watching episode 8, Nappa says "for pony" before he gets attacked by Piccolo and Krillin. Looking at the comments, apparently it's a reference from something called LFG. Can anyone shed s'more light on this?

I figured he was in the middle of saying "More Pwnage" then was hit. But I'm probably wrong.

Really? Why would you be ashamed for thinking something was funny? I say, if it makes you laugh, then laugh as much as you want. Screw what anyone else things.
But then again...I laugh pretty easily...
That's why I have rock hard abs.
I'm not trying to attack you in any way. I just don't think anyone should be ashamed of what they find funny. =D

Just so everyone knows, the next couple episodes may take a while. We've got a lot of crap going on, on our end, so expect some in-betweeners until then.
Sorry for the wait, but things are just a little rocky right now as far as some of our guys being able to script and record consistently.
Thanks for the patience!

I've got to say...Who cares? Stupid terms like low-brow are being thrown around way too much these days. If you find something funny then laugh at it. That's why comedic things are made, to make people laugh. If someone else looks down on you for finding something meant to be funny, funny. Then I say, screw them. Contrary to what some may say, toilet humor and random humor are funny. Hell iut's how our beloved Toriyama got his start. Things like comedy shouldn't be taken so seriously. Ya know?

I think it's a matter of effort. It takes less effort to make something funny through toilet humor and randomness. Something more witty generally has more thought put into it, thus deserves more respect and admiration.
That's not a jab at your series though, I love the hell out of ARDBZ.

Like I said, it's comedy. It's not like it's an intense drama that needs to be dissected. Like the saying goes, "If it feels good, do it."
Problem with some comedy relating things that as you say are "witty" is...They have trouble finding a balance IMO. To me, Lewis Black is the ULTIMATE witty comedian. He finds amazing ways to poke fun at things and is hilarious. On the other hand, some comedians come up with witty things that make you go "Heh, that was clever" but not really make you laugh (Steven Wright for example). I'm not saying TFS is like that, I'm just saying that comedy is being taken too seriously these days. Watch what you like. Don't let the opinions of other people ruin the enjoyment of something that gives you laughter.

Speaking of DB abridged (:P), seems Neighborhood Cluck's Movie 2 part 1 got muted. Thanks for being pricks Warner, it wasn't even your movie
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
I really hope they continue their movie work. I found the first 2 hilarious.

It's funny how you guys are talking about comedy. Gozar, just this weekend I discovered your ARDBZ. I came across it last week when my students were watching your vids in the computer lab. All I heard was cursing and I told them to either lower the volume or turn it off. The entire class was watching it! From a distance and from the little bits of audio that I heard I thought it was just another horrible fan made vid with lost of pointless cursing.
That was until I had to go home and watch it for myself. I couldn't stop laughing. I stayed up all night watching every episode. I laughed more at the gay jokes than anything else, and believe me that isn't like me at all. Favorite line: "No Freeza's not gay, but he dose act like he's got dick up his ass." I was brought to tears after that one. (Oh man I'm laughing now!) Its going to be really hard when I go back to class on Tuesday and tell the kids they have to do their work instead of watching ARDBZ, at least I know what the fuss is all about.
I hope you don't take the offensives but I agree with SSJ Helldog, ARDBZ is short of like a guilty pleasure.

I did also, I actually had seen those movies long before abridged was out and I thought they were great.

Cursing? Perhaps it was the first Episode...I threw around F-Bombs for fun in that episode. >.< LOL, but since then out of the 51 following Episodes I've only said that...Er, 2 or 3 times. But hell, I really don't care if you find it as a guilty pleasure...I'm just happy you like it. Regardless of how. Because after all, that's why I put them up, to make people laugh.

Just for the record, I was talking about the abridged movies when I made that statement. Also, it's not so much that I enjoyed the movies but felt guilty because other might look down on me for enjoying them, it was literally, "Ha ha... oh shit." Like a pang of guilt. Hard to describe. Saying "douchebag" in a funny voice is 14-year-old humor. It's like when you laugh at LOL-cats... it hurts you on the inside.

Guilty as charged.
But then again, you could argue that so is talking about the word "dick"...

Are you refering to the bit I tried for the GT retelling? I like to think that because it had context within the story it came across as more funny, but... I'm probably wrong here.
