I don't know, people can be pretty stubborn if there's something they don't like the look of....but I don't care, I'll see it and have my own opinion anyway.

"Some guy"? Come on, show a little more respect around here. That guy, Corey/MajinVegetaXV, posted on that same thread page as that post of yours and so it ain't hard to remember. He was being civil, you saying something like that comes off as disrespectful from my point of view and hence uncivil. Let's be mature around here. And really JAPPO, please calm the heck down, you're bordering on either insulting people or making a screaming fest vid of your own.

I am absolutely not going to see this in theaters. I'm not lying, I'm not deluding myself. I'm planning this months in advance because what I have read, seen, and heard makes me physically ill to my stomach in regard to Fox. Although, if the composer sneaks in the Justice League cartoon's theme song at some point in the film, maybe I'll go for it to get a good laugh. :P

Giving Fox money, whether the movie is good or bad, is better than not giving them money. If we want a better movie, then we have to show that we are interested in it. If the movie bombs, then there is no chance they will make anymore, ever, unless another company picks it up, which would be unlikely, especially if the first one bombs completely. I say, go see it, it's not like it's going to effect your life on a personal level, just go, have fun, and then complain if it is awful. Send Fox letters or whatever and let them know we want a more faithful sequel, or a redo in 5-8 years. Not they will listen, but otherwise it has no chance of happening, at all, unless one of us becomes super famous and makes it happen.

Deny it all you want, you know every person here is seeing it whether they admit it or not.

You do have a point, most American high schools have people trying to murder each other with guns, not swords.

Very inaccurate display of murderous teenagers, I say.

...The "Haha, you're all going to see it. Stop LYING" posts are annoyingly pompous...that kind of assumption about other people is just abrasively annoying.

I'm not heavily against the film, I'm not trying to make any sort of POINT against it. But it just might not be worth seeing. II have yet to see the entire series in Japanese, I still haven't seen all the animated movies in any format.

I'm very iffy on seeing the film, but that kind of assumption comes off as annoyingly arrogant.

Just sayin'. =/

Seriously. I don't even always go see movies I'm actually looking forward to. I'm a Star Wars fan but I didn't feel so obligated to go see Clone Wars.

I totally agree. I WAS planning on seeing it, I WAS extremely curious... but the trailer really cooled my level of interest. It just looks so... boring and generic.

I still might see it, but only if another trailer comes along that absolutely rocks my cock out, or barring that, if some of my friends desperately wanna go and ask me to tag along.

Beyond that though, this doesn't give me the impression that I'd be missing out on all that much.

I'm in the generation of fans that started with Toonami, so I totally empathize with the feeling of having "missed the party", experiencing disappointment, and wanting to experience it myself. But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

Oh, on that point:

...It's not really a "big screen" movie, I think. It feels like what a three-part episode of what the TV show is supposed to be. It would work a lot better on the small screen.

Same here. It makes me think there was, like, a whole new trailer, but I can't tell because there's 3 new pages every time I click on the thread. :(

Congrats on taking what I said out of context.

Those were both totally different things. I was talking about a Tom Rothman interview on IESB, and about IGN saying the special effects aren't done. Then some guy had to argue about who owns IGN.
Well, what do you know?

If there's nothing else to be said about the trailer itself...
VegettoEX, in the now-locked, long-running live-action movie thread wrote:What it sounds like I need to do with this type of topic is do the same thing we do with any other topic relating to DragonBall...

Don't allow a single thread to go on for so long.

As has been stated, there's no real reason why it's inherently necessary to have a single thread dedicated to a topic that has all sorts elements to it. If there's a new piece of information, post it up and discuss it. If something else pops up, there's no reason we can't have a new thread dedicated to just that part.

As a comparison, we don't have a "BUDOKAI SOUNDTRACK DISCUSSION" official-style thread. If anyone wants to post up and discuss something about any part of any music from any game, we just go ahead and make a new thread. The general anime itself was listed as another comparison; we don't need a single "ONLY TALK ABOUT THE ANIME HERE!" thread, and the live-action movie is really no different (other than the fact that it's being produced in a different country and is the current hotness).

Additionally, a recurring concern (I hesitate to use the word "complaint") is that with threads of this size, it becomes exponentially more difficult to keep up with the actual NEWS content, rather than COMMENTARY content as it grows larger and larger in size. That just adds to the lack of usefulness, it would seem.

So yeah! This thread is over, and there will absolutely be no more "single" threads dedicated to such a large topic. I apologize for not being so on top of this thread as I could have been, but my excuse is that I had been out of town for nearly a week and am kinda slow getting back into the swing of things Smile.

Yeah, I think this thread has served its purpose by now; It's nothing but arguing again... Next major news will probably be in a few weeks, if the full trailer is with Max Payne.

Unless they put out a better trailer that can change my feelings about it, I won't be seeing this movie. There was nothing interesting about it at all. For me personally It's kinda sad because I'm really not that hard to impress. If it wasn't for the Orange Gi the whole thing would just be utterly unimpressive and forgettable. They really better have some special scenes lined up for the next trailer. With all the negative reaction the "promo" is getting they better show the Kamehameha. I mean come on! They couldn't even do a whole podcast on it! I don't care what anyone says that is a BAD sign. :?
I completely respect your opinion, and I respect you. I enjoyed discussing this with you, even if I don't completely agree.

If we're all here for a reason then I'm just visiting.
