"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
I do want Vegeta to be the one to take on Freeza, but I would also like for the focus to be on Vegeta no longer feeling like the person he was when Freeza humiliated him. I'd like for him to have that sort of profound confidence to him, so that when he's fighting Freeza we truly see that he has ascended to the same level of consciousness he described Gokuu as having during his battle with Majin Buu, that simple love of battle and fighting to overcome one's self. I think that would be a splendid story for Vegeta that avoids having him simply fighting for revenge or against feelings of inadequacy.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
I'm extremely interested to see how Toriyama chooses to explore Freeza and Vegeta's characters in this film. It'd be neat if Freeza's training develops his character somehow. I just don't want him to be a cardboard cut-out villain for the heroes to beat up on, and I'm pretty sure I've mentioned this before. One thing that I'm really hoping for in this movie is for them to go back and look at what makes Freeza, Freeza; as opposed to any other villain. In terms of Vegeta, I'm curious to see what's done with him in this movie. Will Freeza's return open up further insight into his past? M-maybe Vegeta overcoming Freeza will act as a metaphor of him overcoming his past and his former self and, and at the end of the movie he-he will get the opportunity to finish off Freeza but refuses to do so because he's not that person any more and he's been changed by the philosophies of Goku and his pals...
...Er, maybe not, but if we can trust Toriyama with anything, it's definitely characterization. My worst case scenario for this movie is Freeza getting up at the end, grinning, and saying, "That was fun. We'll definitely fight again someday. I'm going to continue my training...and get even stronger!!"
Speaking of characters and characterization, I'm still curious about the new characters; Tagoma and Sorbet. Are they just another pair of Freeza's henchmen or do they actually pose a threat to our heroes? Have they gained above-average strength since Freeza's defeat? Do they have any role beyond reviving Freeza? And how are they going about searching for the Dragon Balls? How do they know that Earth has Dragon Balls in the first place? Kinda unrelated, but I seem to have sub-consciously put together that one shot of Sorbet laughing in the trailer and that screen-cap of Goku lying on the ground as part of the same scene for some reason.
Also hoping tie-in promotions pick up a bit soon. Things seem to be a wee bit quite surrounding this movie on that front.

Tie-in promotions here~! http://www.carddass.com/dbh/event/
A carddass event on March 1st if I'm reading it correctly.
I don't see the "F" logo, but I see a lot of Freeza, so I think it's F-related.

I think that would be awesome if Vegeta for some reason proves to everyone who doubts him, that he has changed by showing mercy to Freeza ala Goku-kinda. But Freeza being Freeza over hears that Bulma is now his wife, and he attacks her (Doing what Goku was always afraid of during fights) And Vegeta is forced to kill him in the end. I wonder if Tagoma and Sorbet train with Freeza, and that gives them an advantage (Maybe no one in Freeza's army ever trained (Until Now)
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
Better yet Frieza should kill Trunks out of revenge for being killed by his future counterpart and that could be what sets Vegeta off and gives him the power needed to beat Frieza.
Edit: Then again I suppose that would make it too similar to what happened with Krillin and Goku.

2ch posted the WCF figures!!! They're so tiny and cute! *Pokes the Gokû*.
They also don't reveal anything plot-related, but that's OK, VJump is next week. *u*

I'm not sure, he's too far away in the photo. T_T
Would be really interesting if he is though. :3
I bet these are Gokû and Vegeta's poses in the Toriyama character art for F; Gohan, Kuririn, and Kamesennin are all mirroring their Toriyama drawings. *u*

Would love to pick some of these up, but as I recall with the BOG ones, it was virtually impossible to get them to NZ at a reasonable price. Ah well, there'll be other merchandise that I'll snap up when the time comes.
Speaking of which, I wonder if Freeza's second and third forms will appear in the film? Even if it is in a flashback or for just a brief moment. At the moment it looks like the focus is on the 1st and 4th forms, which I'm OK with. Reminds me of the first Budokai game...and 'Xenoverse' apparently.

I-Is Tien wearing the robes of a Kai?!
Either that or some slick new duds that are similar to the robes of a kai. Either way...I want that Tien figure!
Going on hiatus. Too much stuff in RL to deal with for me to keep up with posts here for now. Was fun, hope you all have a nice day and future! Volt signing off.

Looks more like what he was wearing in BOG, maybe a little different.

Just slick new duds for Tien, don't thinks it actually Kai related. I agree though, looks awesome!Retan wrote:voltlunok wrote:I-Is Tenshinhan wearing the robes of a Kai?!Either that or some slick new duds that are similar to the robes of a kai. Either way...I want that Tenshinhan figure!

They all look nice, as always. Kind of disappointed that there isn't a little something in there in the same vein as the Pilaf gang for BOG, but I'll live. =P

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
The kanji Tenshinhan is wearing is the kanji for "Ten", the first kanji in his name, similar to what he wore in the 23rd Budoukai arc. So, no, it's not a Kaio thing.

I'm curious about the fact that this continues the "where's Trunks, Goten, 18, Buu, Videl, and Mr. Satan?" mystery.

I would love to see Goten and trunks different and as older as Mr.Toriyama would be willing to take them. I have a curiosity to see how that would work in new material.
