I knew something was wrong, as soon as I saw it linked to a pixiv post and not the usual sakuga-whatever-the-fuck that site's called.

Watched Crystal Act 27 Part 1...my god, it was beautiful, great animation, and very faithful manga adaptation, each Senshi have different personality, instead of being one entity, and daimon was beaten by someone else than Sailor Moon, why the heck Crystal couldn't look THAT good from the beginning?

Kon Chiaki is great with comedy so the actual use of facial expressions is great to see. It's a shame Dragon Ball Super gets so little of that.

I would absolutely kill for Shida to work on Super. That would be the greatest thing ever.

I just finished watching episode 1 of Crystal season 3 and it was SO good! ☆*:.。.o(≧▽≦)o.。.:*☆
This is definitely where staff from Go!Pri was sent to. Everything about it was wonderful. Surpassed my expectations.
Maybe someday Shida will return to Super...

We've gotten word that a special animator that everyone knows has been working on some cuts for an important scene from OP. It's assumed to be Shida.JulieYBM wrote:Shida Naotoshi did the BANK for Usagi's transformation. This can either mean one of two things: he's still around for Sailor Moon...or he isn't and he was just doing the BANK. With any luck he'll work on Dragon Ball Super...soon...soon...

I was going to say, Shida is the only animator I can actually recognise, so that sequence obviously stuck out to me. I'm pretty sure he animated a portion of the opening, as well. It's almost appropriate, considering he was responsible for the other 2D henshin in the Crystal prior to this (Chibiusa's).
With Precure and now Crystal dropping CGI this year, I'm wondering what that's meaning for Toei. I'm assuming the staff behind the CGI sequences aren't the same people responsible for the 2D animation? Not to mention, this year's Precure will have a total of 4 long transformation sequences introduced by the first 11 episodes. And their own unique attacks. That's a lot of stock footage. (It might explain why the fight scenes have been a little lacking so far).

I could have gotten into anything...and yet I chose the story aimed at young Japanese boys about martial arts, and later about super-powerful aliens punching each other really hard.

About 25 minutes of Go!Pri's movie was cgi. Maybe they moved the cgi guys to Film Gold? It's weird how absent they've been lately.

Kon Chiaki is apparently huge SM fan, OPM and Go!Pri were also made by fans, if only Toei allowed for longer production schedule, and hire people who care about DB, at least they listened to fans about Crystal, previous director not only allowed for bad animation, but had nerve to block comments on Twitter

Quite a few Dragon Ball fans work on Dragon Ball Super, they're just held back by a lack of a production schedule. Toei Animation obviously cares about Dragon Ball Super or else they wouldn't have put two of their best directors in charge of the series.coola wrote:Kon Chiaki is apparently huge SM fan, OPM and Go!Pri were also made by fans, if only Toei allowed for longer production schedule, and hire people who care about DB, at least they listened to fans about Crystal, previous director not only allowed for bad animation, but had nerve to block comments on Twitter
Sakai Munehisa probably blocked people on Twitter because he had no time to listen to shallow comments from folks who didn't know better. He made a few bad decisions but he was completely fucked over by the higher ups, too.

Ootsuka ken just tweeted this, I hope he is not talking about Super. Then again it is the series with production issues

38's supervisor is Tate, as we already know. 39 is Kitano. 40 is "未定". Pretty much sure that means "To be decided"?

Same here. Ken is extremely talented but he might be able to pull off his best work if he really doesn't have much time. :/Kuririn Fan wrote:Damn, i feel bad for those poor people.
