Pretty sure after DBZ Kai Buu arc ends, Toei will bring back Toriko.
But I would like to be suprised and next stop would be DB kai. DB needs more love.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

What would they call it? Funimation made the right move by going with DBZ Kai instead.

DB Kai the prequel? lol

I corrected my mistake and deleted the image from my post last night, Herms cleared things up, and I apologized for my mistake.

There is no new anime, guys. Shueisha is reprinting last February's VJump because of demand for some Kuroko's Basketball thing. They just decided to announce it in February (because of course they would), and I didn't see the tiny 2014 up there on the cover.

I didn't recognize the cover because I wasn't following VJump much last year.

Not sure we Toriko fans would want Toei to handle Toriko again. Not sure Toei would want to handle Toriko again, based on the abysmal reception and sales it got.

Because Buu arc ends this year and something will replace it.

Nothing plot related was missed.

Some time this week this month's VJump with the first chapter of Toyotaro's adaption manga of F should appear, but I wouldn't expect it until mid week at the earliest (but early purchasers could surprise me).

I recently watched the original Dragon Ball and it really could use the Kai treatment. It looks and sounds really dated and it has so much filler. They could probably cut it down to 70 episodes at most.

I don't feel that something looking and sounding the era it was in made should be considered a negative. I consider the older animation and music to have it's own style and charm. I do agree that some filler could easily be cut though. And a newer better dub would certainly be welcomed as well.

I just don't see Toei spending any more money "refreshing" DragonBall when they can easily make more profit on the new movies.
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.

Well for me it's because Dragon Ball Z doesn't seem outdated at all due to watching it with the more modern sounding Faulconer score. So even though DBZ aired immediately after Dragon Ball to me it feels like there's a 20 year gap between them.

The music could really be improved upon in a Kai release and like I said there was a vast amount of filler but even the filler and how it was done just seems very dated when compared to DBZ's filler during the later half.

Whether they would give it a Kai release though who knows. It took DBZ Kai 81 episodes to cover 16 volumes of DBZ but that still included filler, DB Kai could be done in less so it depends how much something like that would cost.

I do think it'd make for a much bigger improvement though.

So I was just watching the trailer again, and I'm starting to get the feeling that Goku and Freeza's clash at the end takes place on a different planet to Earth. The dark sky and the sparse environment feels like quite a significant change from the rest of what we saw in the trailer. I mean, it's fully possible that it could still be on Earth; rocky wastelands aren't unheard of in the Dragon World, and neither are overcast skies, but the setting and atmosphere of those shots is just so drastically different to the blue skies that we see in the rest of the trailer (apart from the ones on Beerus's planet), that it kinda puts the thought in my head that it's a completely different planet. And, at the risk of blowing this minor tidbit from Greg's Jump Festa' report out of proportion, they were placing an emphasis on how windy it was during Goku and Freeza's battle (although wind is also not unheard of on Earth). :shifty: Unless of course the drastic change in landscape is to go with how dire the situation is, or maybe the fighting has just levelled the whole area or whatever...

Doesn't that description also fit with that place where Kami's spaceship was? I unfortunately forgot the name.

Yeah, that. It fits the description. If they do end up fighting there, it's probably by Goku's request or he forcefully threw Freeza over there to avoid damage to any cities nearby.

Now that ANN is back up (it was down the whole weekend) I was able to check and see when the first VJump leaks came out last month, which was 6 days before the street date release:
Source here, it was (surprisingly not Yugioh this time) a Digimon reveal: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/20 ... mon/.83360
We're 6 days away from the street release right now. We could technically get leaks as early as tomorrow.

I am so anxious it's maddening. @_@

Are we guaranteed to get something out of this V-Jump or are we just hoping? This isn't the issue where Toyble's manga adaptation starts is it?
