Three glaring problems with this:
1. Three "recolors" absolutely does not equate to "all the time".
2. How was lightning and more spikes any better?
3. Why are you (this also applies generally) torturing yourself by watching the new content when "recolors" are old? Why not just stick to the original content? No one's forcing you to watch (or read, I guess) Super...

People critique things because they want them to be better. The "don't watch if you don't like it" fallacy (which needs an official name, someone let me know if there is one) has been extensively debunked over and over and over.

That's not entirely true. I've seen people, on Kanzenshuu, who live to hate on the show and do nothing more. Other than that, I agree with you. I only tell people that because I (among others) get sick of the same old complaints. Complaining about "recolors" isn't going to make them go away. I'd rather see people's thoughts on the writing, and see them explain how they'd like it to get better. And anything but the horror of episode 67's reception.

And before anyone says it, I know, "Just don't read the complaints." But that's pretty difficult when you're a Super fanboy on a Dragon Ball site.

Eh, its hard for me too. Look if you hate the re colors why don't you just simply go to Dragon ball AF(2), and Dragon ball multiverse. And have their disgusting over complicated forms, that Akira Toriyama, would realisitcally never make. But honestly we've only gotten three recolour forms in the entirety of dragon ball super, super saiyan blue, super saiyan pink, super saiyan rage, (super saiyan god) and super saiyan two. I'm starting to notice a trend with the saiyans here.

Honestly I dislike the SSJ forms too.

But I don't hate transformations in general. We've had some great ones: Ozaru, Zarbon's transformed state, all of Frieza's are gold(if you pardon the pun), Cell's ones were fine too and Buu's...well they were okay I guess from a visually distinct point of view.

...but SSJ is such a boring transformation in general. It changes your hair colour and makes it stand up straight. Snore. SSJ2 is even worse; the same again but slightly spikier and also lightning sparks. Creative? It's even worse on Vegeta whose hair remains the same due to the regular hair style he has.

SSJ3 is a little more creative, but damn if it isn't visually a mess. SSJ4 actually is relatively neat an idea and makes a little more sense with the Saiyans being part ape why not give them more ape like features in their transformation?

I guess I prefer the villainous transformations because it gives the heroes something to try and overcome, but if the protagonists have 3+ transformations I find it hard to feel a sense of tension.

I'm not sure what the recent obsession with hoping everyone bar Goku and Vegeta fails miserably at the upcoming tournament, but that's a recent thing I've found that grinds my gears. Gohan in particular seems to be getting a lot of vindictiveness thrown his way for little reason. Saw it being brought up in the recent Super episode thread and found myself agreeing with those who said it was irritating.

Plan to do another post in here again. Surprise, surprise its going to be on designs again, at the very least, however this time its not going to be focusing on fanon, and more on well, just a collection of my thoughts, but mainly on Cell arc, and the future trunks arc...

Speaking of dragon ball super. The future trunks arc, and everyone's complaints on asspulls, and acting as if their the worst thing in the world.

And I completely and utterly 100% agree with them, I hate asspulls, in all of their entirety, and hope they never, ever rear their aids driven heads up in the franchise ever again.

But do you know what I hate even more, people complaining all about the asspulls in dragon ball super, and not even mentioning that DBZ, is an asspull, and plot contrived mess (CELL ARC/ANDROID ARC/BUU ARC, Freeza arc is perfect in every way!♥, and saiyan arc is nearly as good as it!) that if it was a real living being I would have it shot to put it out of its misery.

Now don't get me wrong I still enjoy the Buu arc, as it was an incredibly enjoyable time, even though, Kid Buu shouldn't even feasibly be possible, or the fact that Goten and Trunks being born as super saiyan, makes me see red every time. But besides that Buu is an enjoyable villain and it was a good show.

The Cell and Android arc on the other hand makes me want to rip my eyes out, and the fact that these abominations get a free pass, while the future trunks arc doesn't makes me want to scream. Let us begin.

The future timeline is just one big ass-pull, incarnate, their is absolutely no way that it could ever exist. There are just too many freebies for the man cast to get out of it. But of course Akira Toriyama wanted his own Terminator like plot, and put less thought into it, than the entire transformer's trilogy.

Freeza coming back was just a complete and utter fucking waste of everyone's time. "But wait a minute Gog, wasn't that ROF?" I hear you say? And yes ROF was a time waster, but unlike Freeza's return, ROF was epic, had great character moments, and when Freeza turned into his golden form(Foreshadow?), I actually lost my virginity, and if anyone wants to argue with me on that... Then god have mercy on their souls

The androids, god besides Dr Gero, and 19, all of them can jump into a whole and die. People can rag on Zamasu, and Black being stupid, but the Androids are retarded. How can an old man, in a cave make beings stronger than Freeza? How-How can he make Beings stronger than Freeza *goes into a corner and huddles, in a fetus position while rocking, and whispering*.

Cell, oh god Cell, so, so much potential. *dabs tearful eyes, with wet clothe* But all so lost. How does Cell's perfection work, I know how it works, but how can adsorbing too androids far weaker than himself grant him such a big boost in strength. Wait a minute how can adsorbing a couple thousand humans, increase his power that much? Also why would Dr Gero even bother making the androids, if he had Cell. Also if the perfect form was something locked inside of Cell, then why wasn't he born Perfect, also why is his personality, so dull.

Oh right Toriyama, wrote by the seat of his short, shorts.

Characters gaining new personality traits, greatest accuser Gohan. Now, now everyone may say that Teen Gohan is best Gohan, but in actuality Teen Gohan, is the most boring, contrived, and worst of the gohan's, this Gohan, fucking grew a new personality, in a span of minutes, so that Akira Toriyama could inject some artificial drama in his soul less, and dry saga. That's not even considering that Gohan was the absolute worst person who could have fought Cell, their was nothing between those too, that made me go, oh shit Gohan's going to mess Cell up.

No instead I just sat their baffled, Cell had done nothing to Gohan, Gohan had done nothing to Cell there was nothing between them. Cell hadn't killed ChiChi in front of Gohan's eyes, nor has he actually killed any one important in front of him. Anyone would have been a better pick.

Characters becoming magically dumber, and smarter as the plot demands.
Goku having forgot the sensu's and the Mafuba, may have been bad, but what happened in the cell, and android, are a thousand billion times worse than that, in fact theirs so many I cannot actually list them all off the top of my head, but I can name a few. Vegeta becoming arrogant to the point of retardation, Piccolo letting Dr Gero strike him down with a laser, pretending to play dead, so that he could get an ambush on him, even though he showed that he could effortlessly beat him.

Vegeta having most of his energy stolen, and being an incredible idiot, by risking it by intimidating Gero, rather than shouting 'hey give me a sense bean' Gero runs away, as he magically had his intelligence halved, in this moment, then Piccolo proceeded to stroke Vegeta's tiny, minuscule, pathetic, little shriveled up penis.

Krillin, despite being shown as a pragmatic, and smart fighter, Krillin managed to get blinded by his emotions, when he had to kill a women, who. kissed. him. one. time to save the world, and that women had just shown herself to be a great threat to the world, even killing him and all the Z fighters, in another timeline (a topic for later) but he was too blinded by her vagina, to be thinking straight.

Android 18, and 17. Oh my god, these two are morons, 17 being the complete buffoon he was, believed that he was the strongest, even though Piccolo was stronger than, him, and even when Piccolo was completely panicking over Cell, and even after Cell showed that he could regenerate, and 16 told him to fuck off, 17 still ran out, and managed to win himself a darwin award, when Cell leaped out of the ground, and did the world, a great service, by removing this idiot from the gene pool.

18, even with 16 telling her to fuck off, even with two super saiyan's (even though one had its tiny, shrived up penis crawl up his body, and ate his brain, replacing it, and having a raging boner, that made it look no different from its original millimeter sized self), and even with all that, she did not move off the island, she didn't even swim, off the island. She just sat their, drool coming out of her mouth. Looking pretty. A perfect appetizer. For a hungry, hungry bio-android.

The ass pulls, OH GOD THE ASS PULLS. The future time line, should not. I REPEAT SHOULD NOT BE POSSIBLE. The future androids, why do they have different personality's? Cell being able to get as strong as he did from adsorbing humans. Cell being able to get as strong as he got from adsorbing the androids. Goku not just using the instant transmission, to get to King Cold, and Freeza. Gohan's personality. Cell being capable of learning a technique instantly, that took Goku, a whole year to master. Cell's regeneration (only in manga). The androids being stronger than Freeza. Cell losing his perfection, and magically learning it back. Because his cell's remembered it.

Few this one was massive. I declare this the cell saga/Android saga hate porn!

Chichi didn't trick Goku into marriage, she never said to him marriage was food, they were both naive kids when they made the promisse.
When she confronted him in the Tournament she was hurt because she thought he'd forgotten his promisse. His friends explained to him that he'd have to live with her, Chichi realized he didn't understand the promisse he did to her and she was ready to let it go albeit sad, but Goku agreed to the marriage idea, knowing full well he'd have to live with her.

Goku's a character who does what he wants to do. Chichi gave to him the opportunity to back off but he didn't take it, he choose to marry her instead. It was an arranged marriage.

Chichi had no malice in her intentions because she was able to ride nimbus alongside Goku at the end of the arc.

So many people depict Chichi like she's some sort of evil person for marryng the inocent Goku and it's a bit infuriating because the manga and anime didn't depict it that way. (I don't know if this is the right thread to talk about this or not).

I'm having an argument in another thread, and the people their keep on insisting that the golden form is a recolor, then they insisted that it was 90% recolor and 10% actual design. So I've decided that I'm going to go and compare the form to the most popular forms in the franchise.

Stuff like absorptions and techniques don't count.

The form completely ditches what we all imagined a further form above the finial one to look like, instead it chooses, to go golden, remove the top gems, shrink the remaining others, gives it a super saiyan three brow, increases the muscle mass, and makes the user taller.

First off, I don't know what scale your using, but I'm going to write it off as bullshit until I get some actual, verifiable math. Secondly, slightly altering the proportions and bulking it up doesn't make something a new design.

Lately I've been getting irked by some people, namely certain YouTubers, going on and on about how the upcoming arc of Super could be the darkest one yet, and how they want it to be incredibly dark. This annoys me because, even though it's had its serious moments, being dark and edgy was never Dragon Ball's thing. The ending to the Goku Black arc was incredibly dark by the series' standards, and that led to it being probably the most divisive and controversial arc in the series' entirety. I don't want a repeat of that for the upcoming arc, taken to new extremes. Tension can still be achieved without it. Call me soft if you will, but I fell in love with the adventure aspect of early Dragon Ball, and despite the Z portion of the series being a lot more serious, it was still fun and light-hearted at its core. I don't want a massive tonal shift to something that I feel has never been Dragon Ball's thing.

Even at its darkest, DB still remains incredibly fun. The Freeza arc is pretty dark, but in that is Ginyu Force. That said, I'm fine with different tones to each arc and no arc has to have a consistent monotonous tone. It can switch gears when it needs to.

You have a point about the percentages regarding the other forms/transformations, but claiming that Golden Freeza is 0% recolor is kind of silly.
