At least they dropped the gangsta speech for him.

Kind of like how they handled Time Travel in the manga. Still annoys me that Future Goku and everybody else is still somehow dead in the future but that is a whole other can of worms mostly caused by the Cell arc.
Still this is an improvement over the Super anime where Black goes back in time for seemingly no reason at all other than plot convenience.
However the manga does raise a couple of other annoying grips like massive exposition dumps, i get that the manga is behind the anime and it needs to catch up but the Mystery of who Black is? Gets solved so quickly its almost as bad as Cell.It really makes you think what the point of building up a mystery is if you are going to resolve it almost immediately if somebody read all these chapters back to back for the first time you would not even have time to try and piece the puzzle together yourself before the manga just flat out tells you the answer.
Good Chapter overall though.

So in the manga Zamasu is the one watching God Tube. Interesting. Though I find it kind of odd he didn't take the body of Hit or Monaka seeing as they made it farther.

That's probably because they don't have God ki, I think that was the whole reason of choosing Goku over anyone else.

Goku showed himself to be notably stronger than Hit. He certainly would have won had he not surrendered (not factoring in Hit being unable to kill). For a core person/shinjin, Zamasu is quite an excellent fighter, and it's possible he could tell that Monaka was a fraud. Also, and possibly most importantly, Goku defiles the ki of the gods.GodKaio-Ken wrote:Though I find it kind of odd he didn't take the body of Hit or Monaka seeing as they made it farther.

How when Vegeta, Goku, Piccolo and Hit didn't figure it out themselves? Piccolo and Hit only found out after they overheard Beerus.batistabus wrote:and it's possible he could tell that Monaka was a fraud.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
Piccolo and Hit hadn't seen him fight yet, so they didn't have a chance to judge for themselves. Regardless, everyone comes from a perspective where this whole world with a bunch of strong guys they never knew existed is opening up to them. They're so open to something like this that they can't see the obvious answer in front of them. Zamasu on the other hand, someone who assumes he's better than anyone who isn't a god of destruction, likely doesn't share that same perspective.Doctor. wrote:How when Vegeta, Goku, Piccolo and Hit didn't figure it out themselves? About the end of the upcoming finale of the Future Trunks arc it' looks like that the ending is going to be different than in the anime.

It's interesting what's going to happen. I still expect Vegetto to appear, also Zeno, but maybe finding a way without the Earth being destroyed?Toyotaro also says the manga version of the rest of the Trunks arc will be different than the anime, but I guess we already knew that.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
So will Toyotaro make it better than the anime which I really hope he does. Will he fuck it up worse than the anime did which I really hope not. Or will it be close to the same, I also hope not. Time will tell. Hopefully he uses the ideas from 66 which are good, and executes them way better than they were.

Regardless of whether or not he does the ending better, the manga already suffered so much from the short time schedule that even if the ending is 100x better, the overall arc will probably still be worse than the anime version.dbzfan7 wrote:So will Toyotaro make it better than the anime which I really hope he does. Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
True I agree to that. The anime had a lot more going for it. Especially the mystery which this Manga ruined in lame fashion. Even if the ending here is way better, the anime build up was much better than the manga. If the ending is way better, I can probably put the blame on time restraints rather than poor writing for the manga being rushed.Doctor. wrote:Regardless of whether or not he does the ending better, the manga already suffered so much from the short time schedule that even if the ending is 100x better, the overall arc will probably still be worse than the anime version.dbzfan7 wrote:So will Toyotaro make it better than the anime which I really hope he does. If Vegetto doesn't show up, I'm hoping, but don't count on it, for an explanation as to why Vegeta and Goku don't fuse when Gowasu and Kaioshin are right there.dbzfan7 wrote:True I agree to that. It's yet to see, but I think it will be better. For now, avoided a paradox, showed a very nice Trunks fb against Dabra and things have been explained better. I miss the action, two chapters without fights, but the storytelling has been great, but now it's coming. I think there won't be so much come and goes, power levels will make more sense and, the ending, that will probably be similar, but better explained.dbzfan7 wrote:So will Toyotaro make it better than the anime which I really hope he does. Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
The biggest problem with the anime climax was it felt rushed the Manga already feels that way and Toyo says he's gonna go ahead of the anime again next arc this doesn't bode well at all especially since they haven't even fought Black at all yet. As long as the Manga is just promotion for the show it's never gonna reach it's potential.dbzfan7 wrote:So will Toyotaro make it better than the anime which I really hope he does. Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
I hope he doesn't show up either. A complete waste of time he was. Story wise we coulda done without him just fine and got to the same conclusion another way. All that made Vegetto special in the first place, is now dead thanks to the anime. So I hope we don't get him in the manga, and get something different and more coherent.Doctor. wrote:If Vegetto doesn't show up, I'm hoping, but don't count on it, for an explanation as to why Vegeta and Goku don't fuse when Gowasu and Kaioshin are right there.dbzfan7 wrote:True I agree to that. "That promise"? Could it be the Zen'ou's tournament? What else are people waiting for?
I think Veget was part of Toriyama's outline. It's a logical conclusion given it's a story revolving around Kaioushins and the Potaras haven't been treated like regular ornaments.

It could be, but I think he was referring to when he recently said that the manga would soon be ahead of the anime again.alakazam^ wrote:"That promise"? Could it be the Zen'ou's tournament? What else are people waiting for?

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
Yep, the manga definitely handled the time travel stuff better, as it adhered to the original time travel rules the Android Saga established. Just like how Future Trunks comes from the original unaltered version of the future where there was just a singular timeline, Goku Black comes from unaltered version of the shows timeline, where Zamasu manages to switch bodies with Goku, whom he never meant face to face because their was no reason to with GodTube(so no predestined paradox ala Terminator), as the Android Saga, Kid Trunks Teacher and Whis stated a time split only occurs when something that was original suppose to happen gets changed(Future Trunks created a split when he killed Mecha Frieza and King Cold, as it was Goku who originally did that), so the next time split that will occur is when Beerus kills Zamasu, therefore changing history by preventing him from switching bodies with Goku.Basako wrote:It's yet to see, but I think it will be better.
