Hey look, an interview! Giant characters are story mode-only characters because they didn't want to split the screen and wanted to keep the battles life-like. There also appears to be some surprises in store, but not quite like Hatchihyakku.

Thanks for the link! I've gotta admit, this is the least excited I've been about the annual fighting game in years. I'll continue keeping up with the updates, but I need something to really get me psyched. Right now I just have a difficult time looking forward to this one.

Yeah I read what you wrote too, but those button promts just look like they KILL the game play. In any other trailer we would have had fast punches and kicks and seeing people teleporting and doing all sorts of things. All I see so far is stopping the fighitng every three seconds for a promt and I can't even wrap my mead around whats WRONG with the supers right now.

If it's true that the SSj3 versions of Vegeta and Broli have been removed, then that's just fucking stupid. Not so much Broli, but it's a kick in the teeth where Vegeta is concerned.

ohai Vegeta, have some ssj3 YES I HAVE ACHIEVED ULTIMATE POWER osorry gon take that back now plzkthx DAMMIT

Hmm.... Maybe they want to focus on more Manga/Anime events then the ones conceived by fans? One which I am happy about because "What-if" Broli and Vegeta where the reason I ignored the last Dragon Ball video game (As well as the retarded Australian price tag for games).

After I watched some footage, it seems, that nobody blocks in melee mode. It also seems, that QTEs are very easy to enter (after a succesful string).
There was a seperation of a free flying mode in melee mode in the previous games, but in this game, it's extreme. Cutscenes to enter melee mode is annoying.
The interesting aspect of this game, is that the melee mode in this game looks like a traditional fighter. But the problem is, QTEs are too easy to enter, it's added repetitiveness. Players seems to no blocking, too. This may explain, why the gameplay looks so "bad".

I swear, if some people knows, how to block, than the game will looks less repetitive...

Just my 2 cents...

DB Xenoverse is not a DBZ simulator with fighting elements, it's a semi competent fighting/action game with DBZ simulation elements.

I saw the trailer this morning and I think it looks great. The game play looks good so far and I love the graphics, look better then they did in RB2 and I like how the game is going so far. October 25th is a decent date but October has Battlefield 3, Rage and Raccoon City coming out in the same month as well.

I think this will be the first DBZ game that I pre-order since Burst Limit.

TheDevilsCorpse wrote: Yes it is, but the branding should still reflect the game regardless. They're aware that the Sparking title was renamed to Tenkaichi outside Japan. If they didn't intend the game to resemble its predecessors, then they shouldn't have put Tenkaichi as an option on the English survey, its misleading. People suggested the name thinking they were getting an upgraded typical Spike game in the same vein as the Tenkaichi/Sparking and Raging Blast series, and they aren't.
Same thing can be said about naming the Sparking games Budokai Tenkaichi in the US.

Isn't Tenkachi just a word for battle or tournament? SO this is just like an ultimate tournament. I'm sure plenty of other games use part of the same name to call other games.

Also, saw more game footage, STILL unimpresed with the 'choose a button' every 3 seconds and the 2D view when you get close.

Atleast they got the boss battles [KINDA] right. I would have liked to been able to free fly around them and blast them at will not wait to remember a pattern.

I hope Hirudegarn will end up being a boss too. The game is being set on the same week as Battlefield 3 which is not a good thing at all since Battlefield 3 has much bigger hype.

No, "Budokai" would be the word that represents the idea of a gathering of fighters (the three kanji individually meaning military / road or path / meeting or gathering).

"Tenka-ichi" is roughly "number one under the heavens".

And because I feel that I must (having flashbacks to terrible old TV commercials for the American releases of the Sparking! games), note the break between the "ka" and the "ichi" in there -- it ain't "ten - kai - chi" ^_~.

There is Rage Shenron if they add GT into the game.

Good point. It would be interesting to see all of the shadow dragons this time around.

I'm STILL worried about supers and ultimates in this game since all we have seen is a kamehameha that is an auto cut scene you can't break out of and that ki volley thing Broly does to Trunks, which is yet ANOTHER cutscene.

This time they explicitly stated that GT is in the game. Finally.

French dude: Is this game gonna have GT and the original Dragon Ball as well?
Developer: Yes, it's gonna have GT.

I'm more curious why they're not even mentioning Dragon Ball.

How i picture the development team:
"We're making it closer to the manga"
"And what do we focus on?"
"Z, GT and the Movies"
"And what's the gameplay gonna be like?"
"Rock-Paper-Scissors"
"Since it's gonna be a landmark game, it'll have the anime music all across the release, right?"
"Nah....just some other generic crap"

Hmmm, i wonder if the Shinsuke Kikuchi music could be used in the US and EU versions, since the music is being used in Kai?
