Episode 8 has Goku returning going by the episodes title. Which makes me think that Goku will become a SSjG by episode 9 or 10 which would be in early September.

The first two box sets are twelve episodes each, which is basically a cour. I think it would be a fair assumption that the first set will cover the Beerus Arc and the second will cover the Golden Freeza Arc. Assuming we're lucky enough not to have anymore breaks (which I doubt will happen), Episode 12 of Beerus will wrap up on September 27th and Golden Freeza will wrap up on December 20th. So we could possibly have the literal start of the Universe 6 Arc by December...maybe.

I wonder how they'll expand Golden Freeza. That movie was almost all fighting. Maybe it won't be 12 eps, or maybe it'll have added plot.

If the can stretch SS3 Goku vs. Beerus into a full episode, they can pad Golden Freeza out to be 12 episodes. Especially if we get a little bit of downtime at the start, similar to the first two Super episodes, Maybe show Goku and Vegeta's change of cothes and their first summoning of Whis, stuff like that. Have Tagoma and Sorbet (or however they do it this time) come to Earth in Episode 3, which is also another Pilaf episode for the most part. xD

There is no reason to have the stories for BOG and ROF to go on for too long. We don't need 20 or 30 episodes just to beat Freeza again.

I thoroughly disagree. 24 total episodes between the first two arcs isn't that bad. It's only 2/3 of Z's Saiyan Arc (the shortest of the four). Golden Freeza could use the padding, too. The movie was almost exclusively fighting. They need to take this opportunity to fluff the arc up with some world building.

I do wanna see what Gokû and Vegeta's living quarters at Whis and Beerus' place looks like. Please be bunk beds for comedic reasons. :3

Whether we do or we don't is kind of a moot point now, the decision on pacing has been made by Toei and nothing's gonna change at this point unfortunately

I am very happy to see these boxes being released. I'll be buying at the very least the first Blu-ray box and probably the second. I knew there was a good reason to have a job...!!

If each box is twelve episodes I think that is a very clear sign that the Beers arc and the Golden Freeza arcs will both be twelve episodes each. The Fall 2015 cour will probably have at least one break already scheduled, I assume sometime in December. Perhaps a major sporting event will come up that I am unaware of?

Are Seishun 18 Kippu and Hanatoro major events in Japan?

I would love to see at least 1 episode completely devoted to Goku and Vegeta daily lives training with Whis.
Check out Journey's End, a short story of Goku and Vegeta's final days. "Time is running out for the last two Saiyans"

I want an episode like that so much. ( * u * ) That portion of Resurrection F with that was my favorite part of it. Gokû and Vegeta have never lived together or trained together before F; there's so much that can be done with them living/training together as students. X3

Also the way this is worded:
Akira Toriyama’s Inside Story: Tell us the details on how they started training with Whis!
Goku was the one who asked Whis, of course. It was on condition that he give Whis tasty food! Vegeta didn’t want Goku to leave him in the dust, so he had no choice but to come train too.
Makes me think there's some wonderful Vegeta reaction-faces in there.

I want to see Whis' daily life when Beerus is sleeping. I think he does Karaoke on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but there is so much more to be done for someone who never sleeps.

Seishun 18 kippu are a type of discount train ticket passes -- they are on sale a few times a year, and you can use them later in the year. The event listing is marking when you can buy them. It is not really an event. Hanatoro I've never heard of, but it seems to be not a big deal -- lighted flowers outside, not a major holiday like Golden Week or Obon.

You guys remember how Frieza was the "emperor" of the universe? Will there be an emperor of all the universes? Which universe will have the strongest fighters? Any thoughts?

I honestly think Champa will start out bad but become good like many others have done in the past

He was a conqueror and his title was self-assumed. If anything, the head of the Galactic Patrol probably has a more official title than Freeza ever had.

The next arc could easily stretch out to about 20 episodes with added material not seen in the movie and extend Z-Fighters' fights with the soldiers. They could also decide to use Freeza’s each transformation one by one to test his strength or something.

The way the series and movies played out, I just see two arcs as one big arc. "Gods" arc, perhaps? That arc lasting about 32 episodes or so sounds pretty good to me.

The latest timeline calls BoG & FnF together "Gods of the Universe arc".
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

He was the self-proclaimed "emperor" of the Universe, he went around thinking he was far, far above anyone else and was untouchable. It was never a proper title given to him by anyone else other than himself or a few of his followers. In the other Universes, particularly in the 6th Universe, since that's the one we'll be exploring in DBSuper, there might be another warrior/tyrant like Freeza, but who knows? The 7th Universe has Freeza, King Cold, Vegeta, the Saiya-jin, Earth, the Super Saiya-jin, Cell, the Jinzouningen, Majin Buu, Hakaishin Beerus, the Kaioshin, the Kaiou-samas, the Tsufuru-jin, Yakon, Pui Pui, Dabura, the Namek-sei-jin - not counting on non-canon or movie-only characters like Brolly, Turles, Bojack and his henchmen, Slug, etc.

There could literally be a virtually endless range of possibilities for extremely, insanely powerful warriors (some of them villains) in the 6th Universe, but I'd expect that the deity hierarchy, for example, is kept roughly the same (Hakaishin and his attendant, the equivalent of the Kaioshin, Dai Kaiou-sama and the four Kaiou-samas, below which there's a Kami for each planet, etc.).

It's precisely the fact we know NOTHING about the 6th Universe, which should be just as big as the 7th, which is where EVERY event has taken place in DB and DBZ, that makes the prospect of exploring it so exciting. The exploration of another Universe, along with Beerus' statement by the end of BoG that there are actually as many as 12 different, separate Universes, open up and generate immense room for new insanely powerful characters and villains, most likely in the same exact degree as the 7th Universe, so, yeah, there's probably somebody along the lines of Freeza, Bojack, Dabura, etc., etc., in the 6th Universe as well.

Regarding Champa starting out bad and gradually becoming good, that's actually major character development which was used on Tenshinhan, Piccolo and Vegeta (Tenshinhan goes from bad guy to part of the team after a few advices from Muten Roshi and within one arc, Piccolo started out as the reincarnation of one of the most evil and psychotic villains in the entirety of Dragonball but by the Freeza or Jinzouningen arc his evil has all but disappeared, has become a complete ally to good, protector of Earth, its inhabitants and the one he arguably loves and has his process of transition complete quite quickly, while in the case of Vegeta it took him nearly the entirety of DBZ's arcs to undergo the same exact process - he started out as a ruthless genocidal killer, a smaller version of Freeza, but we can some gradual and incremental change already on Namek, further changes and adaptations in the Jinzouningen and Cell arcs, even further adaptations to Earth and his family life in the Majin Buu arc - his possession by Babidi and his killing of hundreds of people at the stadium was probably the last instance of really evil stuff done by him ever - and AFTER the arc the very gradual and incremental process of transition is also complete).

However, I still believe that Champa won't be a full-fledged villain, he'll be shown to merely have some sort of bitterness/rivalry towards Beerus, and for some reason could be plotting some sort of assault or revenge on him (either because he's the Hakaishin for the 6th Universe just like Beerus is the Hakaishin for the 7th, and they compete with each other, or because he competed for the position of Hakaishin for the 7th Universe, a race which he ended up losing to Beerus, which would also explain his bitterness towards him, much in the same way Garlic Jr. wants revenge on Kami for the latter having won the race for the position of Guardian of Earth against his father). This sort of deities are so strange entities that they can't really be deemed "evil" nor "good", they're no one's allies, they've been tasked with a "mission" and see to it that it's carried out; their understanding of "right" and "wrong" is probably so far ahead when compared to other, emotional beings that it's completely different (not better or worse, just BEYOND), or even non-existent. We'll just have to wait for further detailed info on Champa or for the actual episodes in which he finally shows up to run to see who and what exactly he is and what his intentions could be towards Beerus and the Universe and its warriors in general. At this point he's just far too much of a mystery from certain angles for us to postulate any scenarios beyond the mere fact that there's some sort of connection between him and his respective attendant and Beerus and Whis, with the two most likely theories on that being the ones I specified in start of this paragraph).
