Well that's a giant pile of Oozaru shit. What kind of fighting game doesn't have a training mode? Even Ultimate Tenkaichi had one and that's hardly a fighting game.Shinnin wrote:Nope.DBZAOTA482 wrote:Does Xenoverse have a Training Mode of sorts?
Dimps is giving me more and more reasons to drop this game. How can they do this to us?

Please be a bit less irate, the game is still good regardless of a training mode.DBZAOTA482 wrote:Well that's a giant pile of Oozaru shit. What kind of fighting game doesn't have a training mode? Just play the game I guess... from what i've heard, the controls are simple enough. Shouldn't be too much problem.DBZAOTA482 wrote:budokaifanatic007 wrote:Dimps has nothing to do with this, Bandai calls the shots.

Ever heard of "Easy to learn, hard to master"? That's how Dimps described this game.

Yes. What's so bad about that? You can improve as you progress through the game.DBZAOTA482 wrote:Ever heard of "Easy to learn, hard to master".

If it's fighting games, almost everyone actually.TheGmGoken wrote:Who still uses practice or training mode in video games
You can play the easier missions until your character is strong enough to face the harder ones. That's what grinding is all about.DBZAOTA482 wrote:Maybe I (and many others) don't like getting my ass repeatedly handed to me on a warm platter in 20 unique flavors of assburn.EA575 wrote:Yes. I do.TheGmGoken wrote:Who still uses practice or training mode in video games
There's a reason why fighting games have it: An online oponent, or even the cpu, won't always let you use it as a sandbag to practice moves. Even if they do, you'll need to start new matches all the time......UNLESS you have a training mode, where the match doesn't end and you can practice combos as much as you like.
Hell, this seems be the second Dimps Dragon Ball game without a training mode. First one being Advanced Adventure.

Literally anyone who takes fighting games remotely seriously.TheGmGoken wrote:Who still uses practice or training mode in video games
Training mode gives you a punchbag to repeat combos on until they're ingrained in your muscle memory. That's pretty damn important.
Shame there's not one included. It takes very little effort to include so I'm not sure I understand the exclusion.

I gotta agree with the majority here, a simple practice would be helpful for trying out newly acquired skills, combos and timing and maybe even a new control layout to become at least somewhat competent at the game before moving on to the fun stuff.

He's not talking about level-progress here tho. A Training Mode to be able to toy around with every character is essential in these types of games, specialy in this one since your CaC can have so many specials, you'd want to be able to try them out before heading to a battle.EA575 wrote: You can play the easier missions until your character is strong enough to face the harder ones.
