You're acting as if making a group list is ridiculously complicated, but it's really quite simple. It's been done before, really damn often. A: You describe what made you decide the character went there + their pros and cons B: As said, it's a give and take. You come to a conclusion everyone's cool with.
And do you know what doing that requires? Criteria. That is how the judgements are MADE. by not having criteria, there is nothing to judge, no argument can go deeper than "I think this goes here" and no one can argue that better than anyone else. There are no pros and cons without a criteria of judgement
FAR different than what had more impact on the community though. Having an impact on the community doesn't equal quality. You're missing my entire point.
I'm not gonna lie though. I'm now a liiiiiiiiiitle emotional about well... being called overemotional for simply critiquing the list. From someone else I wouldn't care, but from someone whom I have immense respect for such as KaiserNeko, (Maybe even a personal inspiration of mine) it hurts a little to be called overemotional for just voicing your opinion. Yes, I realize the irony in how I'm now legitimately being overemotional, but you see what I mean...

Cooler is a less interesting version of his brother and hasn't had half the impact on the franchise Broly has had.
I disagree. From what I can gather from the movies and supplemental info, Cooler is more charismatic than Frieza and the respect of his subordinates, rather than fear. He's also more level-headed. He also is not a prodigy like his brother and had to scrape together what he had (an empire of his own, which he does have), as King Cold did not coddle him like Frieza. Also, Cooler has shown that he is willing to train and learn new techniques (like he how obtained his Super Evolution form and Instant Transmission), so each time he appears, expect him to bring something new to the table.
As for impact on the franchise, yeah, Broly has had more impact, but Cooler is no slouch either. He is probably the second most used movie villain in the franchise with Janemba coming in third.

That is only ONE thing they measured. Stop acting like it was the only thing that mattered.
All you are doing is being petulant, because a character you don't like got a high spot on the list

I personally find Cooler more interesting than Frieza in some ways for the simple fact that he's all like, "Yeah, I gotta kill the guy who killed my brother. Nothing personal, it's just something I gotta do."
That is only ONE thing they measured. Stop acting like it was the only thing that mattered.
You're still missing my point entirely. We were discussing the hypothetical situation of if they did base the list purely on personal opinion. Pay attention.
All you are doing is being petulant, because a character you don't like got a high spot on the list
Is that REALLY what you're getting out of this? Awfully presumptuous. Far from it. As I've stated multiple times the reason I would have preferred a purely opinion based list is because I would prefer seeing THEIR opinions rather that basing it primarily on the opinions of others.

Yes, that is what I'm getting from you. Because you want to deny them something the is necesary to make any sort of list, but still want them to make a list.

No, no, no... Sigh...... Dude, really? I've made my opinions VERY clear and you're still not getting this, so I don't even know what to say to you at this point.

Cooler does what he's supposed to do well, he's ''Frieza's older brother''. While I love him for it, I can see how TFS can see that as making him less of an interesting character, especially when the second movie made him copy Frieza even more that it ruined the character he had in the first film (As Kaiser said last year.... FUCK THIS MOVIE!)

Some people got triggered just because of this list? I mean come on, it's not like it's something official and all, it's just a list made by TFS, fans like us, no reason to be mad about having different opinions than they
Are we too old to enjoy new Dragon Ball movies/series?

Guys, I'm going to be straight with you. If you feel the show has gotten 'silly' ... it hasn't. You're just 'too old for this shit'. Seriously, 95% of the people in those boards do not fit the target demographic of the show, so don't expect the show to be 'everything you hoped for'. I'm referring to the people here who expect Super to be rich with dark moments, serious storytelling, meaningful characters etc etc. It won't. It's a show for kids. A show for kids being kids. Everyone in those boards has a manchild in him/her, clamoring to get out, and that's fine. But having unrealistic expectations (such as believing the show grew up alongside you) is naïve at best. Honestly, do you take seriously a story where the supposed God of Destruction halts his urges to blow up stuff in order to eat ice cream sundae? That's the show's silliness at full force, take it for what it is. The show hasn't matured one bit, so don't expect it too. Again, I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I'm saying *that* is DB and always will be.
Not gonna lie, He's one of my favorites. On rewatch I tried to pay more attention to him because of how much I liked the abridged version, and I noticed that, within the original arc, he was ironically the lesser (by a hair) of two evils. He had some positive traits to him. They were just traits that didn't make him any less of a threat to the heroes

Assuming you're talking about me, that's not what my complaint was.
If you weren't talking about me, sorry about that.

But you were getting triggered because you disagreed with their list, because 'somone I respect' had a different opinion.

You're twisting my words. That's not what I said in the slightest. They could put boss rabbit at number one and I wouldn't give a shit. I don't care in the slightest who's on the list. I was only saying I dislike their list format because I WANT to hear THEIR opinions. Pay attention.
The part that I was a bit offended by was being called "overemotional" for simply saying that I would have preferred that format.

Personally I think the only reason he's even on this list is because of Taka. He breathed life into him that was originally never there.

No. As has beens stated, the in my opinion vague criteria being used makes it less about what they personally think, as you have even said. I don't give a fucking shit who's on the list and I seriously don't know why that's so damn hard for you to believe.
I never even wanted this to devolve into a stupid ass flame war, I was just stating that I personally don't like the list criteria because of the whole "impact" thing. I've made my stance pretty damn clear and I don't know why it's so god damn hard for you people to understand. No matter what the fuck I say, you're still dead set on thinking I'm just hating but I just wanted to give my honest genuine criticism and I EXPECTED everyone to just see it and move on with their lives. You can like the damn list criteria if you do, but I don't. THAT'S ALL THERE IS TOO IT. The only reason I've droned on and on about this subject even though I'd prefer not to is because I feel the need to defend myself from the lies being said about me. This really isn't a big deal. I just stated that I didn't like this list as much as previous DBcember lists and everyone freaked the fuck out.

Cooler is a less interesting version of his brother
Freeza is a less interesting version of Vegeta, yet you're probably still going to rate him as #1.
Anyway... I really liked that Nappa got included. He was the best henchman in the series and his fight is both well-choreographed and effective in terms of atmosphere and impact. The series hadn't really had anything like it, and arguably never had anything like it ever again. Though I think you guys did a disservice when you said he had a stock meathead personality. Not to say he is a deep character, but he was shown to at least have a sense of loyalty and honor, e.g. wanting to wish Raditz back to life (before Vegeta vetoed him), being horrified by the deaths of one of his Cultivars (because Vegeta blew it up), and genuinely expecting Vegeta to help him when wounded (then Vegeta killed him). It makes him and Raditz both work as good contrasts to Vegeta, who has no sense of camaraderie with them and is 100% pure evil.

He's probably referring to the Bardock special. Zarbon was the one who first recommended destroying Planet Vegeta because the saiyans were rapidly growing in strength.
It was actually Beerus disguised as Zarbon #StayWoke
Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.
