You're a little late there, bud. But then again, I doubt anyone really feels like going back about 30 pages to when I posted it.
People were still questioning it on the previous page of the thread, even. I figured posting the press release wouldn't really be a waste.

Does this mean that the series will only span 6 sets, while the 7th set will just be for the movies? Or will there be like, two movies included with each set?

Either way, that extra detail is fucking phenomenal: I held off on the various movie releases for a LONG time waiting for a boxset release of some kind, and never got one; so I finally caved and picked up the singles for flea market prices (less than a dollar each in many cases).

This extra bit of news is just... :D 8)

Yeah. This is EXACTLY what I fucking wanted out of a Dragon Ball release since day 1. Exactly. Textbook.

I love you FUNimation. I don't even care that you psyched me out into blowing cash on the series once thus far... all past sins are henceforth forgiven.

I'm in the generation of fans that started with Toonami, so I totally empathize with the feeling of having "missed the party", experiencing disappointment, and wanting to experience it myself. But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

True that. We should keep some people newer to the info updated.

Haha, love how the Kai forum just went and died once we all heard news about the Dragon Boxes. A new thread for the latest episode hasn't even been put up yet :P.

The insane postive reaction to this should show FUNimation they made a great call.

Now I just wish they'd say if they plan to do all the shows Dboxes or not. I don't want to buy more then I have to with DB season 1 set hitting (at least that one isnt the WIDESCREENZ).

EDIT: Kaiserneko....yes. You're right. I was foolish to not realize who cooler was.

They won't make that announcement until they actually release them. If they told people, no one would buy the DB or GT season sets.

Just an educated guess, but I'm thinking that the seven boxsets would be for the series only. The video tech guys are already a little squirmy because of bitrates and stuff with seven episodes and an alternate audio option per disc. If FUNimation managed to cram 291 episodes onto one less set than they're doing now then a lot of people would've cried "Foul!" already.

I totally didn't see Cooler coming, but it gave me a much needed laugh! :D

Kendamu - right, we all know the 7 sets are just DBox 1 and 2.

But will they go on AFTER this and do the other dboxes?

I agree. They'll probably do the Movie Boxes or just separately from the show.

I hate to talk symantics, but the release says 42 "episodes" on 6 discs. It could be that the movies have separate discs. I doubt Funimation would play with words like that, but still...

This has got to be the fastest moving topic in the history of this forum.

I want them to have all the movies(17) in one box.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

I'm sure that, like all their other Dragonball Z releases in the past, there'll be distinct trailers for the movies and the episodes.

This will be awesome. Finally trailers that don't have that random noise in it.

I don't know. It seems like Funi's trying to keep DBZ and DB seperate so far. But then, they're probably also following the Japan releases, so who knows.
