I doubt this would be the last DBZ game from Spike, definitely not the LAST one in general, but they do still make some money on the games, and aside from the button promts and whatev that crap is with the supers, this game does kind of look like a 'new age' of DBZ from all the differences they've shown.

Donny Clay.

He spouted out more wrong info in interviews than ki blasts in the anime.

On the other hand WHY would they stop making games? I'd LOVE a new one every year or so, not from the same company perhaps, but still. Also, where is the rest of that interview, the title i watched said interview 1/4.

Here's the (written) full interview:

Part 1 / CONTENT

1/Nous found that 3D models of characters are the same as in
Raging Blast. Can you confirm that the 100 DBRB2 characters are back?

A: Every character in Ultimate Tenkaichi had to be completely reworked (textures, attacks). As a result, the 100 characters DBRB2 can not be all there.

2/Nous Oozaru have seen in the first teaser of the game, and in the last Shonen Jump. Can we fight them in story mode, or turn us into match versus?

A: Goku vs. Vegeta battle is with the story mode. Oozarus and the other giants will not be playable.

3/Qu 'it is with giants like Hildegarn, Super Slugh, Willow or large Janemba? Can we expect them to come back?

A: Janemba is confirmed, and other battles of giants should be in the program. Developers have not yet been able to answer, we will have our answers in mid-July, at a show in the U.S., and September.

4/THE first information mentioned a "special mode that allows you to live the new age of Dragonball." Can you describe this new way?

A: Unfortunately, too early, the special mode will be announced later.

5/Vous certainly does not give us the full roster of the game today. However, can you tell us if you plan to add characters from DB and DBGT?

A: DBGT will be present, it is 100% confirmed. But no character in DB will not return.

6/Pouvez-vous give us the approximate number of characters and areas of fighting, for this new game?

A: We have not had time to ask this question. But it is very likely that we would not have an answer!

7/DBRB2 gave us some exclusive playable characters, which were not appeared on PS2, as Tarble, C14 and C15, or Hatchiyack. Can we expect to discover new ones in the next game, like Bio Broly or Ozotto?

A: The new game mode special surprises us about it ...

8/Les latest games gave us some new transformations for existing characters: Vegeta, Trunks, and Broly SSJ3 have become. These figures are quite controversial. Will we new what-if transformations in DBA2011?

A: In this case, Broly SSJ3 and Vegeta did not return. And we should not have that kind of wacky transformation (read "no background) in DBZUT.

9/Il is a link between the rosters Carddass games and games of next-gen Spike: Vegeta and SSJ3 Broly, Hatchiyack, C14 and C15.
Dragonball Heroes offers some newcomers: puipui, Yamu, Sporovitch, the rest of the crew of Bojack, SSJ3 Trunks and Bardock SSJ same. Does that mean we will have in the next game Spike?

A: The team can not answer our question on the roster, we have not asked this question.

10/Contrairement to Hatchiyack, Broly SSJ3 Vegeta and have no history that explains how they reached their transformations. Do you intend to create a short film or an in-game scenario that would explain?

A: We have not had time to ask this question.

Part 2 / COURSES

11/Le stage "plain" has been completely rebuilt. All levels have they received the same treatment?

A: Some have been rebuilt, but those who agreed were retained (certainly the palace of Kami-sama, for example).

12/La destruction of environments is impressive. Are these are destroyed in real time? Or are they pre-calculated?

A: Pre-calculated.

13/Les decorations are they higher or larger?

A: The new gameplay that this issue has no place to be. Movements depend on the proximity to the opponent, and each real-time 3D cinematic us away from any glass ceiling.

Part 3 / STORYMODE

14/Pouvez-vous we describe the new story mode?

A: We can restore this response from a number of interview of the Japan Expo: 1vs1 battles, boss battles against the giants, exploration of the world.

15/Aurons-nous cinematics developed, such as those Budokai?

A: We have not had time to ask this question.

16/Naruto Storm 1 & 2 are impressive QTE sequences. Can we expect the same system, to reproduce the epic scenes from the anime?

A: Yes, it does.

17/Le new story mode does cover all the sagas (DB / DBZ / DBGT), and the movies?

A: In this case, DBZ and DBGT.

18 / Sparking Neo (T2) was highly appreciated for its RPG elements (exploration of the world, level up, finding items and ... Dragonballs). Do you intend to exploit this opportunity?

A: The exploration of the world back.

Part 4 / GAMEPLAY

19/Les first news also mentioned the return of gameplay elements from Tenkaichi. Can you describe them?

A: The gameplay elements are primarily from Budokai3 (janken, QTE). The legacy of the explosion is mostly Tenkaichi planet, fighting giants and the return of GT.

20/Aurons-nous a co-op mode (2vs2), as in Zenkai Battle Royale?

A: No. But the teams TAG Sparking / Raging Blast is retained.

21/Certains players expect improvements in defense capabilities. This was it treated?

A: Yes, but in a totally different gameplay.

22/Depuis Raging Blast 1, when an adversary sends us a special attack or ultimate, we can divert. Will we one day return it to the opponent?

A: The defense system of ultimate attack has been completely revised. A selection appears on the screen, allowing you to choose an alternative, according to the Ki remaining. It can divert, collect, or send an ultimate kikoha to counter the opponent.

23/Avez-vous increased the number of attacks per team?

A: We have not had time to ask this question.

24/Depuis May, Namco Bandai has proposed two polls, asking fans to name the game they would like to give Will you find a title by a fan?

A: Ultimate Tenkaichi is the final name, it was chosen by the fans after the survey from Namco Bandai.

25/Pourquoi did you decide to start a new franchise, and not to call this album "DBRB3"?

A: These are the demands of fans at the February meeting, as well as critics of the series Raging Blast that influenced this choice. Next-gen games have been criticized by Spike in new fans, who are too elitist, too hardcore-game, too complex. The goal is to provide a simpler game to learn, to a wider audience. But by allowing hardcore gamers to further the game

26/Beaucoup fans have loved the opportunity to attend a training course to another during a single game (Hyper Dimension, Super DBZ). Can we expect to find this element in a future game?

A: No.

Sparking Meteor 27/Dans (known here as the T3), some characters were separated by period (Goku, Piccolo and Vegeta). Is it the case of DBA?

A: No.

28/Depuis RB1, all the transformations of Saiyajin have a problem: the characters have their mouths wide open, but we do not cry! Have you fixed this?

A: Yes.

29/Quels factors that determine the choice of a new character?

A: First, the popularity of the characters, if it is requested. Second, the ease of incorporating this character in the gameplay of the game (which explains the absence of the characters of DB).

30/Sur PS2, Namco Bandai opted for graphics true to the anime. But since DBRB2, we'll move away. These new choices divide the fans. Can we expect a return to the cel shading "anime" for future games?

A: We are moving away from the already compromised "anime & real" by DBRB2 because realism has divided. DBZUT offers graphics true to the manga, and future games will approximate the look "cel" animation series. So yes (note Treevax: Woohoo! XD)

31/Avez-vous ever considered the fact to offer DLC (free or not) as characters, courses, chapters of history and costume from the manga?

A: We have not had time to ask this question.

32/DBRB2 suffered from comparison with Storm Naruto 2 on several points (graphics, story mode, QTE, cinematic ...). Are you aware of this problem, and do you intend to do something?

A: Yes, it's done. The storymode Naruto UNS2 served as a reference for the new storymode of DBZUT.

33 / One of the big problems was DBRB2 interface. Many people have said that the menus were empty, out of step with Dragonball, and that the selection of costumes was difficult. Did you work on these points DBA2011?

A: DBRB2, Spike humpback Gameplay thoroughly, so it is fantastic. As a result, the menus have been deliberately ... Simplified! It will not if the next game

34/DBK just arrived in France, and we are fortunate to have a new lining, where the majority of the original cast back. Have you thought about a French dubbing for this new game?

A: If a big demand from fans, it could be. But it is not intended, and should be a really BIG request.

DBA Info 35/Les first emphasized the "original Japanese music." Does this mean it that we will finally have the music from DBZ Shunsuke Kikuchi, our French game?

A: No, we speak well of "new Japanese music, original." So the new. There is a problem for the export of this music outside of Japan, we do not have Likelihood.

36/Avez-vous corrected many bugs collision DBRB2 (ultimate attack of C15, Cell and Chaozu, hair Zangya ...)

A: The bugs were identified and corrected.

37/Nous have seen that the special attacks now have an impact on training. Can you tell us whether the act of transforming or loading the Ki will be more dramatic?

A: It is. The camera shakes during the burdens, the auras are most impressive.

38/Deux questions about the intro: Will it again in computer graphics, and Hironobu Kageyama singing does the new theme?

A: The intro will be drawn by hand (due to the high demand!). For the topic is being discussed.

39/Certains American fans eagerly awaiting a creator of characters like Dragonball Online. Is this something that could exist in an upcoming game?

A: No, this is unlikely.

DBZ 40/Super enabled us to exchange a few special attacks between the characters: For example, Freeza could use the Kamehameha, etc ... Can we expect to find this principle again?

A: We have not had time to ask this question.

Ultimate Butoden 41/Dans DBK, we can customize the looks of the main characters with hats, accessories, etc. ... DB 2011 age will give us there at that?

A: Not likely.

42/Si future games are still profitable, will you continue to increase the number of characters and stages, until you do a perfectly complete?

A: After several discussions with other members of Namco Bandai, it seems that Ultimate Tenkaichi is the last game of Spike. However, it is quite possible that the "raw material" (3D models, training ...) can be reused by the next developer.

43/En Europe and the United States, special editions and in Tenkaichi 3 Blast 1 Raging contained artbooks, which gave us an overview of how Spike works. Will we have a new artbook Dragonball to 2011 Age?

A: We have not had time to ask this question. But not in this case, since the bonus is the pen capsule Europe Hoi-Poi.

44 / Since DBKaï was created, the Japanese voices and English have been updated in the anime and games. Is this a final decision? Or can we expect the return of former players like Kenji Utsumi, for example?

A: No. The cast will remain that of DBK / DBZK.

45/Dans Budokai 2 and 3, we can "miss" the merger, and play Vekua Gotenks or obese. Can we expect to find it in an upcoming game Spike?

A: This question is on the roster, so we do not have the answer.

46/Quand combat it "online", many people benefit from a few gameplay flaws, and make the "spam" attacks. Is this a priority for you to fill these gaps?

A: Yes, and the new gameplay filled these gaps. The special attacks and ultimate (for example) can not be used so easily.

47/Quand working on a new game, how do you choose the new characters? Do you take into account the demands of the communities of fans?

A: Yes, and its popularity, and consistency of the character from the game

Sparking Neo 48/Depuis, fans debated the possibility to have unlimited training, without barriers. DBZ Infinite World offers this possibility in a minigame. Is that something you plan?

A: We have not had time to ask this question.

49/En May 2005, Namco Bandai announced that Dimps would be replaced by Spike, Dragon Ball for the next game. How did this decision?

A: We have not had time to ask this question.

50/Notre last question: If this new game Dragonball has a sequel, will you come back to France for another interview with the fans?

A: Response Nakajima-san, directly in English: "YES!"

Wait, what? They're blaming fans for being too hardcore/elitist, like we should be sitting idly and accepting their shit for games? I certainly hope something got lost in translation, because otherwise that makes them look like assholes.

Ok, I'm still confused on this part, if anyone could help out...

1. Supers.....can you not just move [ANY direction] to miss it/just shoot your own blast back at them?

That was what was fun about ALL the other games, wait for the other player to show a weakness/give an opening and then you capitalize on that and go on the offensive....not be forced to sit stil and pick from the same 3 options over and over again.

....Is this there way of trying to knock out spamming of supers? This is giving me B3 flashbacks with every Ultimate being SO drawn out and lengthy. Sometimes I just like watching a HUGE ball of ki race across the screen at someone.

From someone who actually played the game in Japan Expo (translated from French with the Google translator):
So here, you need to know to play the game is safe. Otherwise you will crash and you completely hate the game The only fault I blame it unnecessary scenes we passing between the two modes, contact and the firing position. Square in the position to take ... it takes balls of fire! I found it disturbing but well done. Back to the gameplay, in fact to continue a combo you simply press triangle after pressing square repeatedly. There are so many combos in the list and I was unable to make more than just three, but I can confirm that the game is of the caliber of RB2. In the first 3 parts was disoriented, I understood nothing, but then I got it completely the gameplay and 7 or 8 games and more I could not make more than three combos so they are difficult to place and execute.

It is extremely difficult to achieve these combos, the gameplay has not been casualised. In fact, if. From what I understand, the big combos are very difficult to go out and are for hardcore gamers like you and the rest with QTE and Janken is none other than the simplification announced for new players or noobs. And this system is extremely well thought out, because it prevents them the noob and spam over time. One must choose the type of attack we want, or we do anticipate what your opponent will do is what they call a more tactical gameplay.

Turning to the defense, it was improved as requested. For example, the choice of the response is very well built: the opponent launches kikohos on us and we can send an attack to prevent long to use his ultimate. If we have enough spirit you can gauge catch, dodge or defend (cross ^ ^).

The gameplay is very diverse, small QTE scenes can end in different ways, all very impressive and glaring loyalty. As I remember the gameplay is completely different, it is more dynamic than Raging Blast. Well yes, we feel the repetition, but if we know the hardcore gamer play gameplay quickly becomes more diverse, almost as much as Raging Blast 2 or even more with the techniques of QTE. Is chosen to be a sequence in melee, or you selected the "ping pong" or nothing at all! We are not required each time to press the action.

The standoff did not even mention ... THEY ARE GIANTS! It is real wrestling, not poor radius collide without producing a sensation of power. You go clubbing keys! ^ ^ I tried to make the combo of Goku vs Freeza trailer with but to no avail, I have not been able to do more than three. At the same I am not a super player Raging Blast 2, I can at best make a dozen combos in its entirety.

I could not test all the characters but it seems to me that are different combos for each character. I played with Saibaiman since I was curious about him, and gameplay is very different from Goku. Anyway, it will do with the tutorial to get used to it and it will be the first time, and I'm totally won over for me. This is a great game ^ ^ reverence for Spike.

After reading that interview I find it annoying they've only just now really listened to the fans (they've done it in the past but not to this extent) and yet it's their last game...

However this does make me excited for the future of Dragonball games, will we see DIMPs return or someone new!?

I know fans have been asking for a bunch of things [yay boss giants and destructive environments] but its like when you make a wish and you don't word it juuuust right.

A bunch of stuff has been added to gameplay but for example the destructable environments...they are brought to the table along side the lack of ability to simple move out of the way and adds a long cutscene with button promts and all that.

I would have liked it to be real time, not cutscenes and breaking up the fight; it sounds beyond repetetive.

And I have yet to see ANYONE just punching and kicking without it devolving back to 2D fighting.

Watch at 1:14 and 1:40. It seems to me now that it's not really 2D like in the Budokai games were you only had this one perspective. You can see them going around the opponents here.

If FUNimation's audience is influential enough, then that's more than plausible. The average American fan seems to love the new transformations and villains in GT, but doesn't know/care about anything that happened before Raditz.

True story. Compared to everything else, DB was a bunch of weaklings and most couldn't even fly. I can see people wanting to fighting with SS4's and Baby Vegeta and have these HUGE epic battles of power opposed to punching and kicking in a ring.

ANd as for that video, thats the most melee I have seen so far. I just don't understand why they took away the free flow of battle with all these buttons and dramatic angles and camera shifts. I don't want like every blast and pucnh I throw to have to go through a from the other person to see what they want to do, it looks like it breaks up gameplay so badly.

Yes that's what everyone is saying right now on the internet, that the freedom in combat has diminished. I deeply hope it doesn't feel like it when playing, though.

Thats the NUMBER ONE thing I'm worried about in this game. It went from fully free roam fighting, to the semi arcade style of having everything determined by 3 buttons instead of tactical battle skill.

 What is that awful ochre yellow of SSJ hairs?!

:x It's really bad... Goku's costumes are screwed... And his hairs too... He has the Full Power hairs against Freezer, where are the early SSJ hairs?

It was well done in Tenkaichi 3 with Goku Mid (Freezer's/Androids' sagas) and Goku Late (Cell's/Buu's saga)...

Battles are scripted but it's not as bad as those disgusting SSJ color... :| Where are those golden hairs we are used to?
