Those Atari commercials are weird in a good way. I lol'ed at the last two, but the Japanese commericals with the little children being voiced over by the cast was much more amusing.

I played the demo for about an hour last night, trying to get the controls down for the full release.
I love that it's back to the frenetic pace of the Budokai games, with a few differences. I love doing the aura spark & then clobbering a guy with the "press-the-buttons-as-fast-as-you-can" sequences. I can tell I'll be a satisfied fighting game fan once the full version comes out in June (and Soulcalibur IV a few weeks later.
)
The graphics look sharp and detailed on an HDTV. I really don't why you'd play a next-gen HD game on an older SD television, but that's just me. You can only get full appreciation from this game by seeing in in HD.
Love the demo, and I especially love the fact that Atari apparantly didn't f*** with the vocal music, because it was a nice surprise to hear Kageyama Hironobu on the US version. Let's hope this becomes a trend, Atari. Even the US fans want ALL the music.

Yes because we all hook our 360's and PS3's to the standard definition CRT televisions we have sitting next to our HDTV'stheoriginalbilis wrote: The graphics look sharp and detailed on an HDTV. Not everyone owns a HDTV, are you saying that everyone should invest $2000 in a HDTV just because they paid $300 for a console?
Besides, Burst Limit is a Dragonball game, it's art style is limited to bright colors and bold dark lines, not super realistic textures and lighting, I've seen the game in HD and SD, and sure it looks better in HD, but not that much better that it makes my pants stick to my leg.

I wasn't trying to be an ass or anything, I was just saying the game can be appreciated more if it's on a HDTV. If you end up loving Burst Limit, and it's only running on a 20" regular TV, then more power to ya's.Captain Awesome wrote: Yes because we all hook our 360's and PS3's to the standard definition CRT televisions we have sitting next to our HDTV's

I ended getting my HDTV for $600, btw. You just have to shop around for the best deals. It's not one of those 60" melt-your-eyeballs HDTVs, but it does just fine.
First time I'm on the board in months, last thing I want is an arguement.
Back on topic, who plans on playing BL on Xbox LIVE once the game ships? I was looking forward to playing some Daizex-goers since I got my 360 a while back.

I invested about $1299.99 in an HDTV about 2 years ago and it was worth it.Captain Awesome wrote:Yes because we all hook our 360's and PS3's to the standard definition CRT televisions we have sitting next to our HDTV'stheoriginalbilis wrote: The graphics look sharp and detailed on an HDTV. I can stare at Burst Limit all day and still wet my pants.

I'll be there, time allowing. I'd love to play against some of you guys. I doubt I'd be wonderful competition, but I bet I could get some good pointers from you guys.theoriginalbilis wrote:Back on topic, who plans on playing BL on Xbox LIVE once the game ships? Taking it away gives you MORE to think about, now you won't be so inclined to spam supers, or to Teleport counter all the time. You will now want to conserve your ki because using it up is now even more punishing that it has ever been. It is scrubs/button mashers like you that will be combo'd into oblivion by the vets online.
Go play Tenkaichi if you don't get it, because you obviously just want to spam a lot of cool looking moves -_-

You got all that from a single post..Vegeta Jr wrote:........COCONUT MILK wrote:That sucks. And how is it more strategic? I don't agree with you and you don't agree with me. No need to be a moron man, you don't know anything about me.
It's not about agreeing, you go and spam Kamehameha I dare you, you will be combo'd into oblivion, you won't be able to Teleport counter either because you wasted your ki.COCONUT MILK wrote:You got all that from a single post..Vegeta Jr wrote:........COCONUT MILK wrote: That sucks. Also powering up in Dragonball Z tends to happen BEFORE a fight begins not during, also charging Ki slowed the games down way too much, same with the Ultimate cutscenes.

I'm not angry, it's your attitude that is annoying, as if the game was bad because it doesn't include everything that was from the show. It is way more of a fighting game than it is a Dragonball game. The emphasis is on the fighting engine not the 'extra' content that is added.COCONUT MILK wrote:I liked the powering up. you did not, why you so angry?

So because I like the powering up in the game, you target me as someone who wants everything from the show to be included and not caring about the way the game plays, a button masher scrub who obviously just wants to spam lots of cool looking moves..?Vegeta Jr wrote:I'm not angry, it's your attitude that is annoying, as if the game was bad because it doesn't include everything that was from the show.
