As far as I know there has been no confirmation of the Age the movie was set in, some people just assumed it was set 2 years after the Buu saga because of the SSJG prediction being said to be 39 years ago.

It's a retcon, as in it's being "corrected" or "changed" to fit something new. While it seems to be kind of annoying that they don't follow their own continuity... it's not THAT bad if you think about it. It's just a little years messing up, it's not like they're messing up someone's hair color or complete character I don't mind extremely, but I can see why people would be irked that it doesn't line up, when they themselves are publishing books around the same time that have the dates right. Yeah, it's kind of sucky, but it's also, I think, a little bit nitpicking... so I really hope people don't let it ruin the movie for them

They have changed the age to Pan. Under the new film Pan at the end of the manga has 7 or 8 years instead of 5...Is that important or not?

Well, don't forget that Toriyama is as forgetful about Dragon Ball as a goldfish. He forgot Launch, not to mention the color of Android 18's hair (though he did do most of Dragon Ball in black and white, but still :p). He's there for the overall mood and seeing that the end product is Dragon Ball to its core, not to nitpick about ages and timelines

Pan at the end of the comic is a little girl (more little than Goten and Trunks in the Boo saga). She doesn´t seem an eight year old girl in any way. It is something that isn´t consistent. I don´t think they have had any intention of changing anything. They simply have been an oversight, they haven´t thought about it.

I don´t bother. It´s simply a serious inconsistency, at the level of the plot.

Hmm... just an observation. But there are a lot of people trying to tie this to GT when Pilaf has turned into a child and is still a child at the end of the movie. GT doesn't work anymore because episode 1 of GT can't work anymore... So... do you people think that can be explained some other way... or are you just ignoring the fact... I'm just wondering why people are still trying to tie this together with GT?

I'm not trying to tie it up with GT , I was just making a funny observation.

Until someone figures out the name source, who knows? Until the Virus or Horus based idea gets debunked I'm using Birus. But, that's just me.

The power inflaction among the gods is utterly insane.

First we have the Kaiou, who're only about as strong as Nappa (if we take North Kaiou's PL in consideration). Then the Kaioushins oversee the whole universe, and are atleast 125,000 stronger than the Kaiou (I consider Kaioshin to be around a PL of 500 million, divide it by 4,000 of North Kaiou and you get 125,000) and not only that, but they live for millions of years compared to the "low" life expectancy of the Kaiou (75,000).

And now it turns out we have "Gods of Destruction" such as Bills, who are MASSIVELY stronger than the Kaioushin. Why do they have to be so powerful if their only duty is to destroy planets? Almost any character is capable of doing just that, and even Buu was enough to destroy Earth so there was nothing left of it.
