IMO that's just the way he always uses the attack, and he's not straining himself at all.

He did it the same way against Son Goku and he was a complete ant compared to him.

I doubt there'd be this much anticipation/hype towards his appearance if he just gonna be an unimportant weakling.

Not to mention that he was injured.

Oh man. XD

Reminds me of Nel's "Cero Doble" from Bleach (though I think her version of the "eat someone's blast and spit it back at them" trick is supposed to combine it with one of her own blasts also rather than just reflecting it back the way it was... still pretty much the same general idea, though.)

I wasn't accusing the artists of stealing or anything... I just thought it was notably similar... it may not even been deliberate.

Really liked 3rd panel. Too bad it will take a long time, when we see Nameks in action(Unless, of course, chaos will break earlier :) )

I'm really hoping that the "Chaos" will be delayed for as long as possible. I want to see my Vegeta vs. Trunks match with no interruption.

I.... don't really understand the reason behind the stylistic choice in the third panel . It doesn't make it seem more dramatic or help create a certain mood. This type seems more appropriate for a severely dire situation, but seeing as this was only a knockout and that Beelzebub seems just fine afterwards, just renders it ineffectual and makes it look out of place.

I guess they just wanted to make it different. I don't see a problem with a one-off thing like that.

So, now that the first round is over, we can finally properly predict the rest of the bracket! Even if it does get interrupted eventually.
Usually goes by "Kevtrev" elsewhere online.
Draws comics that may or may not have been blatantly inspired by Akira Toriyama's manga.

I'm not saying the artist is wrong to use it , but that it was inappropriately used IMO. A shift in art style is meant to draw attention or emphasize the meaning of a certain scene, make it more memorable, more meaningful. It seems out of place or wasted on a scene that was more or less predictable from a fight that seems to lack any particular meaning in the grand scheme of things.

Well, it's just a personal opinion. I pay a lot of attention to stuff like this :D

I know, I agree with you. It's just that I don't really care about it.

I'm really hoping the next page will be reactions to there being a Daimao in the tournament, but at this point I'm not counting on it. :(

That said though, I'm looking forward to round two at long last!

My personal prediction, at how fights in 2nd round will end

1st - Nappa vs Freeza:
It depend, if Nappa can turn SSJ, then Freeza is finished (From what i understand, he didnt train at all since Namek)

2nd - Son Goku vs 17
Goku, this 17 power is even lower then ones we know from Anime/Manga

3rd - South Kaioshin vs Majin Buu:
One of fights I'm looking forward, i think Kaioshin will win, but, not without trouble (if we count Anime filler, he fought quite well against Kid Buu, and this form of Buu is weaker than him)

4th - Uub vs Nail:
Nail forfeit, so Uub wins automaticly (Not that, it would change anything, if he didnt forfeit)

5th - Future Trunks vs Vegeta:
If Trunks mastered at least SSJ2, then Vegeta might have hard winning this fight.

6th - Pan vs Kakarotto:
Kakarotto, Pan decided to forfeit, after seeing her alter ego killed by Bojack

7th - Cell vs Bojack:
Cell, but might wanted to let Bojack do soem damage to him, since he want to get stronger

8th - Tapion vs Kuririn
I have no idea, to be honest, we never saw Tapion fight before, and we dont know how much Strong is this Kuririn

9th - Vegetto vs XXI
Same here, no idea who will win

10th - 18# vs Arale:
I hope Arale will win, mostly because, i like her :P

11th - Gotenks vs Nekomajin:
Look at 9th

12th - Buu vs Tenshinhan
This Buu absorbed all strong foes in his universe, and isnt afraid of Vegetto, unfortunately, poor Tenshinhan have low chance for victory :(

13th - Son Bra vs Eleim
Bra, Elein struggled with 16#, while Bra is at least stronger then "our" Goku and Vegeta

14th - King Cold vs Bardock
If Bardock can turn only SSJ, and didnt master it, then it wont be enough for King Cold

15th - Raichi vs Vegeta (Universe 8 )
Raichi in Special wasnt really a fighter, his only technique was shield, so, if he is like in that OAV, then Vegeta win

16th - King Piccolo vs Gast Carcolh:
Hard to tell, Gast easely beat powered up Cell Jr. on the other hand, we dont know, how much power Piccolo used in his fight against Beezelbub

Are you saying that "super" Buu is weaker than "pure" Buu? Or was there some bit of back story I missed? Even if "super" Buu is weaker than the pure form (which I don't believe is true), this Buu still absorbed a large part of his universe, didn't he?

As for Raichi, I'm pretty sure he'll be summoning Hatchihyak.

That match is for the fat Majin Buu...

Here are my predictions:
http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/2298/dbm.png

I'm iffy on Nappa vs. Freeza. I actually think a rematch between Goku vs. super duper Nappa would be more interesting than a rematch between Goku and same Freeza as always. So maybe from that perspective Nappa would win.

Also a bit iffy on King Cold vs. Bardock but I figure at least somebody from U8 has to stomp and King Cold is the most likely candidate.

I think XXI is going to beat Vegetto. Vegetto's role here seems awfully similar to Vegeta's in DBZ. He shows up, wows everybody with how badass he is, and then gets stomped by the main villain to show just how tough the bad guy is.

I think XXI is being set up as the big bad. And if he beats Vegetto and comes close to winning the tournament then that might explain Bardock's vision of Vegetto going nuts. It's possible that chaos ensues because if XXI wins then he gets full access to the Dragon Balls spurring a bunch of the others to try to stop that from happening any way they can.

If you're wondering why I think Vegeta will beat Goku, well, based on my assumption that XXI wins the tournament, who's more likely to be on the receiving end of an ass whooping in the final match, Goku or Vegeta? Plus, Vegeta may have foreshadowed something in the early pages when he said something like "You'll get a few surprises from me." I'm guessing at some point he's going to whip out Super Saiyan 3, either against Cell or Goku.

I thought it was odd that you picked Vegeta, until you gave your reasoning. That's certainly true
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!
